I was blown away by this place from the minute I walked in. The vibe was excellent, the decor is…read moredark and sexy, this would be a great place to bring a date.
Upon entering, I was met at the door, I told the hostess that I wanted a table for one, she smiled and walked me to a table near the bar, gave me a menu and asked me abut water, which I said sparkling.
I wanted Paella, but most restaurants only have it for 2 persons, she said they can do a single serving.
She brought a plate of sausages, one of olives and pickles and bread.
I ordered a glass of wine, she asked what style I liked, I told her bold and dry. She left and I perused the menu.
She returned a couple of minutes later with an unopened bottle and asked me if I approved, she said it was bold and dry, which is what I requested, she opened the bottle and poured me a taste and she was right- and it was delicious.
I ordered a half ration of jamon, and we discussed the Paella, they had seafood or chicken. I have always had seafood Paella, but she said that chicken was the specially of the house, plus it was more common in Madrid, so I ordered that.
A few minutes later, she brought me this huge plate of Jamon, and I was like, "this is half a ration?!" She said yes, and it was delicious.
Then came the Paeilla, and I was amazed at how large the pan was. She served it, and I must say, is was some of the best Paella I have ever had, and I loved the chicken version. It also reminded me of Risotto, the rice perfectly cooked, so incredibly delicious.
I was too full to order dessert, but she did bring me a small plate of 2 cake squares, perfect to end the meal.
I wish I had found this place the first night I was here, as I would've come back. But I will jsut have to wait until my next visit to Madrid!
Highly recommended!
