I went to Bowlero Chesapeake with my niece, her husband and some of their friends on a Friday night. We had to wait a little while to get a lane so we went to the bar, grabbed a drink and a snack. We ordered mozzarella sticks. They were hot and crispy and served with a yummy dipping sauce. We headed to our lane about 20 minutes after arrival. This bowling alley was set up differently than any other I'd ever seen. There were a few steps down to bowl and the tables were behind each lane. There was no seating near the lane. I ordered a chicken quesadilla which was yummy. The chicken was in some type of sauce bursting with flavor. I also tried someone's chicken wing and it was hot and delicious. It was very loud which is to be expected, plus they had a small arcade. Our server was friendly but I think a little overwhelmed as we didn't see her as frequently as I would have liked. To sum it up, Bowlero was a nice bowling alley with decent food and lots of drink options. read more

Bowlero was so much fun for my children! We bowled and they used bumpers as well as the bowling ball dropper assist, I think it was shaped as a dinosaur. We ate pizza, chicken tenders, and fries. Pizza was hot and great amount of toppings, the French fries were crispy and fresh, and unfortunately the chicken tenders were slightly overcooked and a bit dry. Staff were friendly and helpful and that in itself is always great to see. The bowling area, arcade area, and bathrooms were pleasantly clean. Overall, was so much fun for the children as well as parents, and we will definitely be back again, and it's great that they have a military discount as well! read more

This was a great activity for our whole family. We had plans to fly kites, but Mother Nature had different plans and it was raining all weekend. What could a group of 14 people do? We looked up Bowlero after having an early breakfast. They were open so we headed there to do some bowling. It was early, so we had first dibs. The place is quite large, with an arcade in the front with the bowling alleys in the back. There is a dining table assigned to each lane (with numbers on them). So you have a place to sit while people are playing. We played 2 games and took up 3 lanes for our group. They have shoes for both kids and adults. Lanes were pretty well waxed and they have bumpers for the alley for the kiddos. We had eaten breakfast before going, so I just ended up getting a shake. My niece got the loaded fries. The previous restaurant we went to, was too fancy for her so, she was happy with her loaded fries. Our waitress was super nice and attentive. You pay for your food at the same time when checking out for the lanes. All in all, a good morning well spent. They do offer a military discount but the military member must pay the bill. I love going bowling in my spare time and since I didn't want to go to the same places I normally do, we headed to Bowlero in Chesapeake. As soon as we walked in, I was blown away with how awesome this place looked. I was very impressed with the open gaming area, very large bar and the beautiful chandeliers, along with the super cool lighting. We headed to the front desk and shared that we wanted to play two games and told the lady our shoe size. She handed us our shoes and told us to pay at the end and enjoy our game. She was very friendly and thankfully for a Friday night, there was no wait. We headed down to the lanes and I immediately noticed there was no seating area near the lanes. The only seating was at the tables in the Dining Area which you had to go up a few steps to get to. All of the other bowing alleys I've been to have had seating right next to the lanes so this was a bit different. I also found it difficult to locate where all of the bowling balls were so we just used whatever balls were already at the lane and thankfully we both found balls that worked for us. Once we got ready to bowl, we placed our belongings at the closest open table to us but I hated that my purse and shoes weren't near me. Unfortunately after a while, one of the associates came over and told us that the table we were using was going to be used for the bowlers at the lane next to us that just arrived and that we had to move our things to the table furthest away. We completely understood and moved our belongings but I grabbed my purse and just placed it on the bowling alley floor until we finished. Because there were no seats right next to the bowling lane, we had to stand the entire time. Overall, it was super fun. Even though I'm not a great bowler, I did win lol! I loved how they played upbeat music and even had a huge screen that displayed the music video as well. The price for just the two of us was $55 (2 people/2 shoes/2 games) so it was a bit more pricier than other bowling alleys but I loved the vibe. We didn't purchase any food or drinks but the food did look good. I'd definitely return but will probably keep my purse and belongings in the car. read more

Had a fantastic time celebrating birthdays with family here. The staff and service were great. Food was a tad on the expensive side but I that was expected. I had the Chicken Wrap, which was just ok. Everything was chopped and dressed and came out mushy. We did like the Chips and Queso, along with the Chicken Tenders. What I loved most was the large spaces available for our party and the dedicated buffet area we had access to. Made things very easy for us. My teen also loved the arcade and was able to get a special on a card which was great. read more

I attended a birthday party for my special peeps, they are so much more than young children - Smiles! I had not been inside a bowling alley in over 20 years. I was so happy. They have a clean private parking lot that is striped to accommodate wide family vehicles. It was easy to get the children in and out of car seats and booster seats. This bowling alley is modern, well designed, and super fun. The staff had prepared our party area when we arrived, and that was a great way to start. Our waitress and lane assistant was so happy, cheerful, helpful, and knowledgeable. She had our "dinosaur" by our lane, ready to assist the smaller bowlers by the time they put on their shoes. They all loved her, showing them how to use the dinosaur before they started bowling. She also had the lane bumpers in place to prevent gutter balls - Yay! We ran a tab for pizza, bowling, and lemonade, which is very convenient. The adults were able to enjoy adults' beverages and flatbread while the younger people enjoyed great pizza and monster cookies. The bowling alleys are excellent, modern, and technology upgrades are everywhere. We were able to post a picture of our birthday child on the screen above our lane to welcome him and between games. Everyone had a great time. We will be back. The only negative was that the lane time was limited and ended before they could finish their second game. Setting up the dinosaur assist and moving it for the larger party goers did slow us down. I wish that there was a way to adjust the lane cutoff times to accommodate younger children having parties. read more

The food prices are outrageous. Ordered a soda for my son. Asked server when she returned whether his could be a kids soda and she said no because she already put in the order. We arrived right before they open and waiting we were the first ones to enter and got our lanes first which was great. Prices for Sunday was $7.79 per game per person shoes were $5.95. We had a 8 party so we're able to have two lanes. I did learn if you have 8 and under you only are aloud one lane. We played 3 games our total was $206. Which seems crazy but we played from 12-3 that's a long time! We did have a blast it was great family time! I would love to rave and give 5 stars. Our last experience was great. This time was a struggle with the food it just wasn't good we also spent $50 in food so that wasn't great. We ordered two kids meals pizza which the kids enjoyed. We also ordered a kids meal chicken tenders the tenders were not very appetizing. We ordered two baskets of fries which came out cold. Also we couldn't find hand sanitizer any where near our table. Not sure they they any. And the bathrooms were SO cold! And only one sink was working!! We had great family time but the food is a hit or a miss! read more

This is the best bowling alley in vb, it has the most welcoming staff , amazing vibes & atmosphere with great food & the best arcade!!

Where to start. first, I did like the place itself. however service was lackluster. Took a while for food to come out. Nachos was supposed to have taco meat but if it did, I didn't know it. No napkins. asked the lady bartender and she acted like she had to pay for them herself and wouldn't give us any. There was a guy bartender there and he was AWESOME. He gave us napkins. even came out to the table to see if we needed anything and said to let him know if we did. Checking out was chaotic. Waitress disappeared and didn't bring our tickets so we checked out at the desk. Not their fault for having to figure it out. This was our first time here. There were 5 ladies, trying to celebrate ladies night out. We will not be back here. read more

I have been coming to this location for literally over 30 years back when it was Pinboys, then AMF, and now Bowlero. I've came here with my family in the 90s, I've taken my students here on class trips for over 15 years, and now with my kids. I recently had a birthday party for my son. And I had to deal with Amy in corporate for this. The party was schedule for a Saturday in Jan 2022 but we had snow that morning and they closed. I was not happy that I was not called until 2.5 hours before it was suppose to have started. Also, when I postponed for another date they did not even have it in the books for that day. My son did not get a party, it was only a large table with red tablecloth. No party paper products, nothing. The food was there but came out at different times rather than as a party. The arcade cards given as part of the party package half did it even have credits on them. I have emailed Amy at corporate about this twice and I have yet to be contacted. I am upset about this. And I will be going to the other location from now on. To be transparent, our server was wonderful. Service was great. It was everything else I am not happy with. I paid almost $300 for a party that did not happen. I'm sad I had to change my review but as a business, you should be taking care of your customers! Sadly I would give this place zero stars if I could. I've gone multiple times and given it many chances, but the fall short every time. The place is at least nice and clean usually but each time I've gone, unless you plan on just showing up to bowl and leave only (no drinks, food, or service) then it's fine. Each time though i am constantly waiting on server. One time they didn't show up the entire time after asking for them for several hours. Last time I went I had to go find a server then go check on my food because it wasn't put in right away. Up front they were co fusing lanes having trouble after making us pay and had to switch up our lanes but getting down there and playing was no issue at least. When food finally got to the table when I had to go to the front to get it I then proceeded to eat non fresh food and I'm only now posting this because this was the ONLY thing I ate that day and proceeded to get extremely sick after I ate here. Anytime I think it can't get worse it has sadly. Could be just me but it's been 4 times now. As for now I don't recommend but if you only want to bowl then sure. Hopefully you won't stand in line while the counter people stare at you. read more

They refused to give us a discount after getting shammed with placing an online reservation that was totally unnecessary to place. The staff was rude to my family after asking for a price adjustment and how we can ask for it next time to get a discount. This was my first time here. First impression, this was a very modern and updated bowling alley. I absolutely appreciate when businesses keep up with times. It's very spacious there are a lot of arcade games, a big bar and then a bunch of bowling lanes. The arcade had a good selection of games. The arcade games use a reloadable card. On the card you can load money and it stores tickets won as well. To redeem your tickets for prizes you go to a vending machine, slide your card and pick out your prizes. I thought this was a genius concept. There was no one manning the arcade but I didn't think it needed to be. We reserved our lane online and checked in 5 minutes prior to our reservation. It was quick and easy to make reservations directly on their website. Once we arrived to the front desk they pulled our reservation right up and had our lane ready. We even paid for our shoe rental online so we just picked up our shoes upon checkin. Once we got to our lane there was no social distancing between lanes. They had lane next to lane booked. There was no sanitizing wipes or hand sanitizer easily accessible anywhere. We went on Valentine's Day and they seemed really busy, with birthday parties as well. They seemed pretty short staff. I think I only seen one maintenance guy who was pulling up bumpers for guests. Two servers, 1 bartender and 1 front desk person possibly the manager. I watched people come and go and lanes not being cleaned because the person cleaning was also serving food. I was on one side of the establishment so I could be wrong on the employee count but I was here for 3 hours. However, as they slowed down they did clean and wipe down balls, seats, tables, etc. I get it, they did the best they could with the employees they had on the clock. Our server took a long time to get to us, get our drinks, refill our drinks and bring our food but she did everything with a great attitude. We bowled for 2 hours and the kids had a blast. Overall my 4 star review is for the short staff and cleanliness especially during a pandemic. However, I would definitely come again and recommend it to friends and family. read more

We have visited serval times during Covid. However, this time made me second-guess coming back for a while. Several adults were bowling without masks at the lanes closest to us. They no longer are spacing people out with an empty lane in between them. We ended up leaving with two sad kids in tow after only playing for a few minutes. The gentleman working at the front desk was very understanding and reversed our charge and made an announcement that everyone should be wearing a mask. Just left here with my four-year-old for some good safe fun during this pandemic. We bowled and played in the new arcade area. I have been taking this covid stuff very seriously as we all should be. However Bowlero is doing a fantastic job. Everyone was spaced out, all the facilities are clean, and the employees are walking around cleaning areas after bowlers leave. Sanitation stations are placed throughout the building for ball, hand cleaning. Masks are enforced for employees and guests. This facility is awesome since the remodel as well!! I came to this bowling alley in December and was very impressed by the remodel and the lanes, service, distancing, and cleaning procedures. However, I came with my niece and nephew today and was horrified that they were using every single lane!!! Zero social distancing at all! We couldn't even maintain 2 feet from another family next to us and were even having to share balls. This is very upsetting considering how careful they seemed in December. Will not be going back while Covid is still an issue...I am wondering if this is even allowed for businesses to be doing at this time. read more

Took my kiddo for her Birthday. She was so excited. The place was dead (not 1 person there) so imagine how shocked we were when they turned our family of 5 away saying that they had no lanes available. It was 4:50, they said league night starts at 5. NO ONE was there. They could have let us bowl 1 game on 1 lane just so our little girl didn't have to leave sad on her special day. We had a group of 7 that wanted to bowl today and wanted to confirm availability before driving over to the Bowlero Chesapeake. Today we called the number (757) 436-4444 for Bowlero Chesapeake several times and pressed option 9 to speak with someone at the front desk and no one answered any time we tried. Around 2:30pm we pressed option 1 "to reserve a lane" and spoke with someone in group reservations. They let us know that there was a League function at 6pm but was going to transfer us to the location to confirm lane availability and we let them know that no one was answering when we called their front desk. The group reservations representative places us on a brief hold and spoke to someone at the Bowlero Chesapeake location and confirmed that they had lanes available at 3:30 and should just walk-in and the location would let us know what their walk-in specials were. We arrived at 3:15pm and were told that they were not allowing any more lane rentals because they were shutting down ALL of the lanes at 4pm so they could oil them for the 6pm league. We left with 4 very disappointed kids and we will not be back! read more

Worst customer service. When we arrived, the staff was minimally accommodating. We were informed that we had to use the balls already at our selected lane, and there were no other available lanes. After ordering food and drinks via the app we waited for an extremely long time to receive even a soft drink. Our order for alcoholic beverages came within about 20 minutes-- when the drinks arrived i noticed that one of the drinks was incorrect and I attempted to inform the server. She responded with a nasty attitude and told me that that the order was incorrect and she couldn't change it and would have to get the manager. The manager arrived and stated that I could reorder the drink but he would not refund the first wrong drink ( which the server never placed on the table since i told her it was wrong). I explained that I had no problem paying for the drink I ordered but that it was not fair that I be asked to pay for a drink that I didn't have. Eventually the manager conceded to return the incorrect drink after arguing with me about what I ordered. I was very disappointed and with the way the situation was handled and the attitudes of the staff and I will not be back. read more

Looks recently remodeled and nice inside. Food is ok. Bowling ball selection is ok. Three stars comes from the cost to bowl. Way too expensive! Almost $8 per person per game. It costs the business no extra money per bowler once the lane is occupied, so I don't understand their rationale for this. Once we paid for shoes, it was over $165 for six people to play three frames. Add in food, beverage and arcade games and you might as well take your family to an amusement park. Had a fun time with family bowling. Had plenty of Dino shaped helpers for kids which mine enjoyed. Boys didn't care for the chicken tenders they got and I agree there were not that good. Boys were also disappointed because they couldn't play the arcade games because they were way over priced in my opinion which could be why I didn't see many people playing them at all. read more
