Pretty decent spot for bowling. Ultimately, we had fun and it was pretty much what we expected. But I'll say some of the organization could use some improvement. We only knew our lanes were available when I went to check in on them. And while the online ordering system is great, it's pretty sporadic. We received 2/3 of the drinks from the same order (the one missing being a beer so likely the easiest to compile), which the bar was happy to give us as soon as we went to it, so I do wish I had just ordered at the bar. The bar staff were super friendly and attentive. We grabbed a pizza which was fine but I did appreciate the plates/cutter/etc that it came with making it easy to distribute. The location is great, easily walkable if you're in the area. And the wait time for two lanes itself was maybe 10 minutes on a Friday night, so definitely pretty accessible. I do wish there were a rack of available balls, as our lanes had a random variety of weights with no discernible rhyme or reason. A group of my colleagues and I decided to make a reservation at Bowlero for our team event in Charlotte. As there were 20+ of us, we reserved 5 lines and planned for the full food catering with drink tickets for all. As I was helping to coordinate, I arrived right on time and found the check in process to be easy. Once we were shown to our lanes, I was excited as the place looked fun. Our waitress quickly walked up to me and asked if she could get me a drink to which I asked for an Iced Tea. She then asked if I meant a long island iced tea to which I said, no a regular unsweetened iced tea. She quickly shot that down and told me they didn't have that. When I then asked what non-alcoholic options they had, she told me that they didn't have any and I'd have to either get water or order a drink and just ask for light alcohol which is ridiculous. I walked up to the bar myself to ask a bartender and was luckily helped. Once the food package started to come out, I think we were all disappointed in the quality of the food. Many of the options had to be sent back from either being cold or just being so terrible they don't meet a basic acceptance criteria. The manager ended up coming out to apologize to our group for all of the issues and worked to make things right. The venue itself is fun and could be great but a lot of work needs to be done around service and quality of food. Until these fixed happened, I wouldn't be back. read more

I've been to this place before and had a good experience, but the experience I had recently wasn't the best but wasn't too bad. I love the drinks and the food is decent, but my only complaint is the cleanliness of the lane I use as in and how long the food took. It seemed like they were under staff because I had to go to the bar and place my food and drink orders. I feel like the service would've been better if there were more staff, I hate to see a server/bartender overwhelmed because it's too busy and they don't have enough help. ( coming from a server / bartender) . The bartender Kay was so nice and made sure we were taking care of as far as the bill, so I do appreciate that! We came here on a Saturday afternoon. They were understaffed. It appeared that only one woman was working and handling multiple jobs and we were a large party granted we had reservations so they did expect us. I will say the place was clean and well kept I just wish the service was a little better. I have been to Bowlero Charlotte multiple times with friends and family. While in the area and looking for something to do, this seems to be the activity version of comfort food for a lot of people. This review is super late, but I had to circle back and make sure that I gave Bowlero a review! I hosted my 39th birthday party here (Downtown Charlotte location), and it was an awesome time! Everything was arranged with the help of Melyssa, the Director of Sales with Bowlero. She made sure that I booked the package that would be most beneficial for my group size, she was quick with her email responses, and she was very friendly. When I got to the location, the front desk employees assisted me with finding my lanes and made sure that I understood how the night would go. The staff were super accommodating and friendly. There were some hiccups with the food order, but the staff made sure to make up for it by providing my friends and family with substitute options. My package came with a couple of food options and alcoholic beverages for my guests. Everyone said the food was pretty good and the drinks were good. The only complaint that I have is that some of my guests arrived before me, but the staff didn't give them their drink tickets when they stated that they were with me. Because my guests didn't know that food and drink would be provided, they purchased some things before I got there, and I felt bad because I didn't want anyone to spend their own cash! SN: another thing that I didn't like is that it was soooo hot in there lol. Beware! I've been to this location several times when it was Strike City. It wasn't until we arrived this visit that I realized it was rebranded. Not only has the name changed, but the decor inside is totally different too. The color scheme and theme has been updated and they have added a lot of arcade games. The private room is still available but the pool table has been replaced with a ping pong table. Interesting. The bathrooms look exactly the same. As for the game, the monitors and controls are updated also which is nice. I'm not sure if they still do glow in the dark bowling here or not. Our experience with the food service was great. We ordered a few cheese fries with steak and drinks and everything came out quickly and as expected. My only complaint with the fries I had is that the steak was overly salty. One thing I didn't care for was the videos being played on some of the monitors. It was the music videos to match the music that was playing on the sound system, but the content of the videos was more appropriate for a club or definitely for a late night event. They were not the type of videos I would expect to see played at a venue at 9pm where no ID was required for entry. There were kids in our party and kids with other groups there and the videos were completely inappropriate with ladies dancing half naked, etc. I think I made the point. Thankfully that was not the content on the screen for our lane (3, 4), but it was playing on lanes 5, 6 right beside us. Very distasteful. read more

The bowling alley itself is pretty cool. Dim lights, good music, and a bar to make this a great weekend scene. My friends and I unfortunately did not make a reservation for a Friday night. We were quoted an hour wait but actually waited longer for a lane. 1 game of bowling cost about $40 for the group of 4 with shoe rental. This was after we applied a discount. We did have a coupon that we had to convince the staff was valid. That was a little hiccup .. but otherwise all good. Didn't try the food.. but ordered a sprite and it was $4.50.. expensive! read more

I decided to take my family out for some fun bowling and arcade over the weekend. We was having an issue with the lanes not having the pins drop down. This happened several times and was a continued wait each time for the lanes to be working again after we alerted an employee. Also, we had issues with the people next to us bombarding over to our side and taking the balls from our lanes. I went to go address these concerns with management and they told me the lady that was in charged was the general manager, Tacarra and she was present that day. I tried to address my concerns with her and she completely ignored me. She seems super overwhelmed and didn't seem like she knew what she was doing at all. If you have a title of general manger, you need to act like one. My family will not be returning. Please hire better management. read more

Security guard from Saturday night Mike, he said his name was. Racist against Latinos as other people have stated previously. He was a prick about wearing masks when clearly many black people were not wearing one but didn't see him enforcing it there. He was also inappropriately touching 2 drunk girls playing next to us in the back room. We were playing in line 15 he was pretending to show them how to play even though they did not ask for his help but he knew they were drunk. They cut down our time in half because they said closing time was at 12am however other black people kept playing without concerns. Terrible place and the worst customer service. I booked a party here. 2 hours of bowling and 2 food choices. The place wasn't bad, but the drinks was horrible... absolutely horrible. I didn't like how the food was brought out for 10 people. We came here for a birthday bowl. We had a great time in the facility. Nevertheless we ordered chicken tacos and it didn't look like the picture. The tacos came out looking like my 6 year old made them doing her best work. I spoke with the manager Leah and she was so understanding and had the kitchen remake the tacos to the best of her ability. We were wandering through the Epicenter area while exploring Charlotte and happened upon Bowlero. We ended up playing two games of bowling and had a fun time. The environment was clean and there were clearly COVID-related precautions in place. The staff was helpful and outgoing and the bar featured a wide selection of alcohols and liquors. The security person made us feel unwelcome as soon as we walked up to the counter. The entire bowling alley was full of unmasked people despite their signs and we were immediately yelled at in the rudest possible way by the security person that we didn't wear a mask (we are all vaccinated, btw). We didn't see the security person remind any of the other unmasked customers about their mask policy over the course of the entire evening we were there. But we masked up immediately, stayed, and played round of bowling in our group of seven. At 11:52 PM the security person came up to us again (wearing his mask UNDER the nose!) and said we have to be off our lane, as they will be switching the lights off at midnight sharp. We were only on our 5th frame, which meant we had to wrap it up after the 6th frame, not completing our game, for which we had to fully pay. Two ladies at the lane next to us were instead shown how to bowl better (by him inappropriately wrapping his arm around them). Upon checking out, the security manager cussed at us and came after us (following us while we wanted to get away as fast as possible) trying to argue with us. We left this establishment horrified. Outside while he came after us, we had had it with him and addressed the fact that we were the only group of LatinX in the place (and some of us were obvious LGBTQ) and that we felt like he only did this to us and nobody else and he admitted to it by responding "Welcome, this is America". I can't help but feeling that we were not welcome because of our heritage and/or sexual orientation and it deserves to be pointed out! As long as this security person works there, there will be racist double standards in this bowling alley and I say no to that. read more

The place itself is pretty nice but the employees are absolutely terrible. They're ignored our group multiple times as we were standing literally right in front of them. They charged us too much and only said "sorry I charged too much but I would have to get a manager over here to fix it". Did she call a manager? Nope. Took my kids here in the middle of a Saturday afternoon to learn how to bowl. Was harassed by some disgusting young women who were in the lane next to us and were acting like prostitutes. When my husband asked them to stop they got worse and were obviously drunk. When we complained to the management their solution was to move these vile people into the VIP lounge instead of asking them to leave or calling the police. This place was trashy and disgusting and I will never go again. I guess it's what you get when you got in to the ghetto that is uptown. read more

I'm not one to post a review ever.... But I had an event planned and booked to celebrate my birthday with friends. My credit card was charged with a lot of money. I had to cancel as I had a family member pass away suddenly & have to fly home. Communication with Bowerlo was absolutely horrible. They told me my 470$ could not be refunded period. I even gave them 5 days ahead of time, telling them about this very horrible situation that I had no control over. I have left tons of emails phone calls and voicemails to the director of events. Crickets. No calls back, one email after a week and the rest have been generated automotive emails because no one's ever in office. I will never come here & will continue to fight to get refunded my money for a situation that no one ever has control over. There's been no sympathy, urgency or great customer service on their end and I work in the customer service world so I know all about how to treat people. Very disappointed. read more
