There's a nice $$$ lot up top where the coffee and donuts (free, but you should donate monies) are located. Then the lot further down is everybody else. Tons to see, walk around, bring your dog - it's all outside. There's a breakfast in the hotel too, but didn't make it to that. Best tip about this place: Car owners tend to group together - Fords park near other fords, etc - it's pretty neat!

They're only open 3 days a week (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) and only accept donations on Saturdays until 3pm. I went 6/3 and found some good finds. I saw a lot of name brand clothing in the women's and children's section with some items as low as $1. My personal finds were a new with tags pair of white shorts from Marshall's for $4 and a pair of Columbia brand pants for $4 as well. I also got a few books for $1.25 each and a shot glass set priced at $3 for 5 glasses. They do offer colored tag specials like 50% blue or 75% off pink so check out the signage when you come in.

For…read moremembers (those who contribute to the store's charities), they have a separate room where the members get first dibs on all the new stuff that comes in. For non-members (like us), the merchandise that remains (and there is a lot of it) is then arranged in a different room for the greater public. Even though there is a hierarchy to the visitors, the merch was still in abundance ... they have nice standards of what the take in and sell. We think they are only open two or three days per week, but if your looking to do a little thrift shopping, this is a nice one.

Our recent volunteer event was a tremendous success as a result of the Salvation Army staff and organization. It was great working with the staff there for this event. All of the recipients were very happy!!! It is an amazing opportunity to give back!!!! I highly recommend that everyone volunteer with the Salvation Army!

This year I reapplied for seasonal employment. On November 5th I received the standard boilerplate rejection, "The initial screening of applications has been completed. At this time we have decided to move forward with other candidates. ". Sounds fair enough. But on November 9th I receive a broadcast email saying seasonal jobs are still available in Charlotte. That takes all the wind out of my sails regarding support for Operation Christmas Child and their ministry. Blessings to your efforts.
