Dry Chicken Chili after removing the peppers
    Brian D.

This place has the best traditional Chinese food around. I've only ordered 5 or so things on the menu, but I'm looking forward to trying as many as I can. The hot pot is unbelievable! Amazing numbing spice. But you better like it hot I also really enjoy their Dry Chili Chicken I think it's the best version of this dish outside of Chinatown. Recently I also tried their Sizzling Beef Short Rib, which was perfectly seasoned and oh so tender I have nothing but great things to say about Bowl of Fortune give them a try today! 5 stars

This place was good! Came on a random Sunday for a late lunch and got seated right away. As we were finishing up is when the dinner crowd was coming in so I can see it getting packed but there's a good amount of seating. We had the soup dumplings as an appetizer and I would 100% get them again - very tasty! My sister had the Dan Dan noodles which she said were just okay and needed more seasoning (she ended up putting in chili crunch oil to add spice). My husband and I very much enjoyed the sesame chicken and white rice. We had also gotten the pork ribs with crunchy garlic to try out but neither of us were big fans of it. Overall I would try this place again!

Kind of a mixed review here because I went twice in 2 weeks and had very different experiences. The first time I went, I was blown away by the flavors, textures, and overall quality of the food. Everyone in our party loved all the dishes that we got! Highlights were the egg yolk, fried tofu, eggplant, string beans, and the fish soup. For spicy lovers, they have lots of options as well. Everything tasted fresh and had punchy flavors. The second time I went, I ordered many of the same dishes, but they weren't fried as well and seemed over salted. Maybe the difference was that we came at the end of service the second time... Still, the first time was so good that I would still recommend this place for an authentic Szechuan cuisine experience. I just wish they were more consistent.

It is almost like being transported to Asia. The lighting is a tiny bit sterile/fluorescent looking. The menus have pictures and descriptions. The food comes out on a robot although servers take them off the robots and put them on your table. The servers don't really speak any English except for one of them. If you have a menu question they need to call that lone English speaker over and even then he does not understand too well either. Had I known the communication was so difficult I would've spent some time looking at Google translate before trying to ask anything! We were trying to figure out whether the potstickers were the thick dough style or a thinner wrapper. It turned out the dough was really thick and I don't like that style as much, so we did not order those. We had crab rangoon and they were very creamy inside and nicely fried. The sweet and sour sauce was a bit boring so we added hot mustard to it. The two entrees we had were dry chili chicken and eggs with shrimp. The dry chili chicken was very flavorful, it had all the right components - not quite 50% dried chilies, slices of fresh garlic that were quickly stirfried to near crispiness along with scallions and fresh ginger. The flavor of the chicken had enough coriander and the "dry" vinegar/soy flavoring that gets absorbed into the pieces. The eggs with shrimp was much more satisfying than I anticipated. The eggs were fully cooked however they were bathed in a velvet like sauce that paired perfectly with the very tender and large shrimp. There were probably 10 shrimp in the dish maybe 12, a good value relative to many other places for that size of shrimp and the high quality. There are other very interesting things on the menu that I would like to try so despite that language barrier I would return. maybe a good idea would be to order carry out first make sure you like the dishes and then come back later and just point and order!

Heard about Bowl of Fortune from others and saw the great reviews. Stopped in on a Saturday evening for dinner and it was pretty full which was a good sign. The decor had a lot of Chinese caligrophy as well as stuffed pandas everywhere which was a nice touch. There was Chinese music playing in the background and the servers spoke Chinese along with some English. If you are looking for authentic Chinese food, especially Szechuan, you've come to the right place. Szechuan String beans - had great flavor, not overcooked soft with a little bit of give. Nice and salty, garlic with a little bit of heat. Xiaomijiao falls in love with chicken. The chicken was very tender and the peppers added a nice texture. It was very chili and Szechuan peppercorn forward. This was by far the strongest numbing tingling dish from the peppercorns. If you like that sensation, this dish packs it with a big punch. Stir fried beef with pepper -The beef was super super tender and the dish had a nice overall spice to it. I could not put my finger on the vegetable as it was familiar. Very thin shoots which added that slight crunch and had a very subtle hint of bitterness. and the veggies added a nice texture. It was a little oily for my liking. Spicy sour pickled fish. Fish was nice and tender and there was a strong sour pickled flavor which chunks. A bit on the salty side and was quite oily. Had a nice suddle heat to it. Loved the vermicelli noodles. Thickest I have seen. Size reminded me of japchae noodles. Overall the food here was quite tasty and if you like Szechuan you are in the right place. Looking forward to trying non Szechuan next time. So glad to have good authentic Chinese food in the burbs.

    Carryout Szechaun string beans, $15.95,

We had an extended family gathering in the area and tried a carryout of several menu items from this newish and popular restaurant. I'll go with 4 stars for this carryout experience as the flavor of the products was excellent and the value was in the 4 star range. We ordered: - Pork in Peking sauce with buns, $17.95 - Beef and ox tripe in chili sauce, $10.95 - Fried carp fish fillet with celery, $18.95 - Szechaun string beans, $15.95 - Beef chow fun, $14.95 - Stir-fried lamb with onions, $18.95 The buns might have been microwaved for pickup, and cooled off and were hard and cold by the time we ate. This dish would have been much better in the restaurant, but was still tasty and decent at home with the hot pork strips. All of the other dishes had a nice, deep, and good flavor. The portion size for all of the menu items we tried was average at best for the prices, but still good for a 4 star rating as noted.

Bowl of Fortune opened recently without any advertisements. And they don't need it. When my husband and I went with some friends on a Saturday at noon the restaurant was completely full. We made reservations and when we arrived the manager left the table that he was sitting at so we could sit there and no attempt was made to clean the table or chairs which were dirty. The food itself is excellent. My favorites are the lemon shrimp, the orange chicken, the chicken egg roll, and the beef chow fun. The menu is gigantic and there is lots more to try. The sever was not friendly. I recommend the food at Bowl of Fortune but the rest needs to be improved

This was an amazing find by my Yelp friend, Sherwin. I joined a group of friends to check out this newly opened Szechuan cuisine restaurant. I was excited to check it out. I am always on the look out for authentic Chinese cuisine restaurants. Bowl of Fortune turned out to be it and more for me. We were a group of five and we got a nice big table by the window when we got to the restaurant. It was prime lunchtime and the restaurant was busy. We received prompt service. Since it was our first time, we took our time to go through the semi-extensive menu. We found that their menu had a good variety of dishes and at reasonable prices. We ordered several dishes that included Dumplings in Chili Sauce, Chicken Egg Rolls, Garlic Scallops, Beef Chow Fun, Dan Dan Noodles, Fried Shrimp in lemon sauce, and Xiaomijiao Falls In Love With Chicken. The food is made from scratch as we were told and so the dishes came out one after the other as they were prepared instead of all at once. The dishes portion sizes were good. The food looked and smelled delicious We were ready to dig in. Little by little, I tried all the dishes (except for the chicken egg rolls). I liked them all, some more than the other. They were all flavorful in their own right and much better than your average suburban Chinese restaurant. The Dumplings app was so comforting. The chili sauce ruled. The Xiaomijiao spicy chicken dish was the best of all. It had a good balance of spices and flavor. I loved it. The Garlic Scallops had a unique sweet & spicy flavor. The Scallops were cooked properly. The veggies in that dish added a nice texture. For the non spicy lovers, the Pork in Peking Sauce and Beef Chow Fun were perfect. The lemon sauce for the Fried Shrimp dish was unique in taste. It was creamy with nice lemon tang and some sweetness. The Dan Dan Noodles were decent in texture and flavor. We received good, friendly service. I was impressed by the food quality and its authenticity. It's a local, family-owned, family restaurant. I loved it and will be going back here for more. I highly recommend it. Check it out.

This place is replacing the locally beloved Heaven on Earth BBQ and it's already making its own name in the space! We had a reservation for 5 at lunch on a Saturday, good thing too because they were BUSY. The locals are already out in force, and can you blame them? For starters there's not much competition for this specific style of cuisine around here. But more important than that is the fact that the food is great! So this place is a traditional restaurant experience, a divergence from its predecessor. You wait to be seated by staff and order from the table (they have the kind that spins on the top for groups). The menu does have English translations and the staff spoke it well enough for us to communicate without issues. I'll say they could use some descriptions on the dishes for those of us less in the know. That said, it won't matter what you get because it was all quite good! "Xiaomijiao falls in love with chicken" was a standout and despite the odd name, I fell in love with this chicken dish! Perfectly tender and juicy chunks of chicken with traditional spices, peppers, and the best part is the whole peppercorns. Not destroy your mouth spicy at all (although that's always a personal preference thing and I have an above average tolerance for heat). If you don't love spicy stuff try the pork in peking sauce with buns. I loved the sweet and savory flavors in this and the buns were spot on. The meat was, again, cooked just right. I have a real "thing" about the doneness on pork and they nailed it. Dan Dan noodles were tasty enough but I wanted a lot more pork and peanuts. It lacked texture overall. I'm a sucker for dumplings but the szechuan wontons didn't blow me away with flavor. Not bad at all but not as good as other items we ordered. They have a few other types of dumplings that I'd like to try on a return visit though. Really I'd like to give 4.5 to this place. I think if I came back and tried some more ME-centric dishes (which I absolutely will) this spot could be 5 stars.

Came here with my parents and we really enjoyed our dinner here. We came around 7:30 pm on a Saturday and it was around a 30 min wait to get a table. There's a lot of seating for small or large parties of groups. The restaurant is a little slow at getting everyone their numbers efficiently for lining up on the waiting list though. We were standing there for a while before someone came over and assigned numbers for the waiting groups. The menu has a lot of options. We got the beef and tripe appetizer, the brown sugar rice cakes, the A29 spicy chicken, the twice cooked pork, and the shrimp Singapore noodles. All these dishes were around $120 and we took leftovers home because we were so full. Everything was delicious! Some of the dishes took a while to come out though. We had already finished our two appetizers and waited a while before the entrees came out. The restaurant is really busy and they only have a few wait staff working. The dishes came with rice and tea was included. Some restaurants charge extra for these items so it was nice that it was included. All the wait staff were very welcoming and friendly. The restaurant opened recently so they are gaining popularity. I will definitely be back! This is a great authentic chinese restaurant in the area! There's lots of dishes with a really good amount of spice so be prepared. You might be sweating at the end of your meal.

    Spicy Cumin Lamb
    Emily Y.

Met up with a friend for dinner here. We had the chili oil wontons, dan dan noodles, and spicy cumin lamb. The wontons were good, but the chili oil wasn't spicy at all so if you're not into spicy, this one's for you. The dan dan noodles were deliciously peanut-y and the cumin lamb perfectly tender. The lamb didn't seem to be spicy at first but it built up slowly as I ate. Overall, it's a pretty decent spot.

We used to go to the Heavenly BBQ that was here before and were so excited to see Bowl of Fortune is open here now! The restaurant is decorated very nicely and they have 4 person and round tables that fit 8 people. There is lots of fun wall art and panda bears around the restaurant. Our waiter did not understand English but was very nice and tried his best to help us. I ordered the vegetable soup but I cannot have tomatoes and this came with tomatoes. Thankfully it was not in the broth so I was able to pick them out and it the soup. It was very good and tasty. Definitely recommend sharing it (they give you small bowls and spoons so you can share) and order a meal too. My husband ordered the shrimp fried rice... it was delicious! Highly recommend it! Huge portion sizes! We will be back again!

The food is good and ambiance very good but service is too slow and pic of the food is different than food. Some issues with music.

We were seated promptly in the formal dining room which was nicely decorated. Our semi-circular booth was spacious and comfortable. There were different sections in the restaurant that were more casual, tailored to the different tastes of the clients. Overall, food was delicious and portions were huge. I had a Boston Clam Chowder and a Gulf Grouper as the main. I would usually order a salad, but I didn't this time as each entrée came with a large plate of homemade roasted vegetables and wild rice. The Boston Clam Chowder had real pieces of clams in it. However, it was just lukewarm. My grouper looked great and tasted flavorful, but it was somewhat over-cooked (and therefore not tender), which was unfortunate. My wife had a bowl of Lobster Bisque and an order of Stuffed Flounder that had crabmeat sandwiched in the fish. She absolutely loved her choices. Our daughter had a Charbroiled Walleye and liked it too. Her only disappointment was the garlic bread being hard and dry. Our daughter and I each had a Chardonnay Stags Leap which was good, while my wife had a Virgin Mojito and truly enjoyed it. Surprisingly, the highlight of the night was the slice of tiramisu that our friendly and professional server Greg brought to me! It had a lit candle for my birthday, and Greg teamed up with two other waitresses enthusiastically sang me a happy birthday song! The tiramisu was excellent, creamy and not too sweet. I am not a dessert person but really appreciated this. I have a suggestion for the restaurant: as the portions were so large and each of us brought home half of it, it would have been nice that they make the portion 40% to 50% smaller, and lower the average price of $40 per entrée accordingly. It might help attract more customers. Just my two cents. All in all, I had a lovely birthday dinner at Boston Fish Market. Ambience was good, and service was outstanding. We will certainly return again.

Our waitress seem a little frazzled and I caulked it up to a miss hap and we ordered apps and dinner since we had time to wait. For apps we ordered 1/2 dozen oysters & a scallop special that was recommended to us. The oyster were good. They had a great mignonete sauce & atomic horseradish cocktail sauce. The scallops had great presentation (the only thing I got a picture of) but we tough and way over cooked. For dinner my wife Asian sea bass and I ordered the 8oz filet with a side of asparagus we shared. About 1/2 way through our appetizer our waitress came back and said they were out of the Asian sea bass. She opted for the broiled sea bass instead. Waitress said no problem. Only to come back 15 mins later and tell us they are outta sea bass. Great. Went with the salmon. Entrees came out after the apps. Filet was great cooked to my liking. Also got a side an asparagus which was good. The salmon was average. We decided to order another round of drinks to go with dinner. They came near the end of the meal. My wife got the same wine she ordered originally but instead of a bourbon they brought me a scotch. I didn't notice at first. But by the time my meal ended and I took a second sip, I thought this is not bourbon its scotch. I didnt say anything just waited for our check and tried to salvage some good conversation over an underwhelming & expensive meal. Only to get the bill and find out they over charge me for all the drinks they served. The price on the menu was $15 and on the bill they were $20. I addressed this with the waitress who corrected it but it was just one disaster after another at this place. I think it's safe to say I won't be coming back here anytime soon with so many better steak houses in the area.
