We decided to just get some entrees but we saw several groups enjoying the KBBQ. We were seated right away and immediately I noticed that our server was hustling, serving every table and greeting people at the door. She was awesome! I was happy to see that the menu at Baps had plenty of options, including several that I don't typically see at the Korean restaurants I frequent. Lots of soups and stews, as well as classic favorites like tteokbokki and bibimbap. We started with complimentary toasted barley tea and the gimmalyi, which are deep fried mini seaweed rolls. These have veggies and glass noodles inside and were really good. I didn't love the sauce they came with, but they were great even without it. I haven't seen these on many menus so it was fun to try them. It was tough to choose, but I went with the 육개장 yukgaejang (spicy beef brisket soup) as my entree, and Nate got the bibimbap with beef. We got a selection of banchan (side dishes) including kimchi, pickled radish, braised black beans, and cucumbers. You can ask for more of whatever banchan you'd like. The food was delicious. I do wish both dishes had more meat, but the flavors were there. The gochujang sauce was so good and added a lot of flavor to the bibimbap. It didn't have a lot of meat, but it was presented nicely and had lots of colorful veggies. The soup was a massive portion and the broth was savory, rich, and the perfect level of spicy. We left with full bellies and smiles on our faces. I will definitely be back to Baps in the future to try some more of their food!

I had a bimmibap bowl with chicken and my companion had pork stirfry. They bring sides, kimchee, noodle salad, broccoli and a bean sprout salad. My bowl had a lot of rice, could have used more chicken. Service was great, I would come back here next time I am in town.

First time visit to Korea House. Located very close to MSU so I figured the menu and atmosphere…read morewould be geared toward students. First we sat down and were given 2 menus. One was their regular menu with a variety of different options and the second menu was all sushi and sashimi. There were dozens of rolls and nigiri of all types. Quite an impressive list. I was there for the Korean food so I did not order any sushi. The service was excellent. The few questions we had were answered and the menu layout was explained as it was extensive. There were apps, rice dishes, soups, house specials, BBQ options and hot pot options to name a few. I decided to go with the kim bop app and soondubu chigae main dish. Soondubu chigae is a spicy soup with silken tofu and seafood served piping hot with rice on the side. The meal also included a selection of 4 banchan; potato salad, Kimchee, bean sprouts and fish cake. All of the banchan were delicious. The banchan also comes with unlimited refills. The kim bop was so good. Not sure what all the ingredients were but it was very tasty and well made. The rice was also very good. It was not an afterthought like a lot of Asian restaurants. The rice was cooked properly and of high quality. The soondubu chigae was also very tasty. Not as spicy as I like but had lots of flavor. My one criticism is the lack of seafood. There was some but not really in balance with the amount of silken tofu and egg in the dish. Overall I would recommend Korea House and although I haven't yet tried the BBQ or the hot pot, I sure they would be excellent choices. If you're craving some authentic Korean flavors, give this spot a try.

The service is prompt and the food comes out quickly and hot. I always like to get the bulgogi and kimchi jjigae as my staples but have also tried other dishes that are a hit too. The seafood pancake appetizer is really good. The prices are reasonable compared to some other places I've been, the total was about $30.

We happened to come during happy hour which looks to be Tuesday-Thursday 4:30-6p. We ordered the potato croquettes and tempura portabella mushrooms for appetizers. The croquettes are part of the happy hour menu so it was a good price. I didn't realize there were only going to be 2 of them but they were a large size! The portabella mushrooms were so good! We were surprised by the amount that we got. I didn't really like the sauce that came with the croquettes so I used the sauce that came with the mushrooms. For our dinner, I got the devil roll (forgot to take a pic - sorry!) and my friend got the teriyaki tofu bento box. My devil roll was pretty good, nothing too special about it. My friend loved her bento and said the agedashi tofu and the inari were her fav. Our server was really attentive and always came to check on us! I also loved that he stopped by to ask if the peanut dressing for our salads was ok. It wasn't too loud in there since there were still empty tables so it was easy to talk and hear each other.
