How this place is still open is beyond me. I bought kalo, mamoe and sosisi around 11am and the food tastes old and disgusting. I am so disappointed and the fact that 3 Samoans took a look at the food and left should've been my turning point. Makaga le igoa o meaai Samoa ae leaga le faiga. Make the drive to Poasa in carson or Park avenue in Riverside. Trust me it's worth it.

Old and disgusting raw fish item that the owner said was made the day before. I will make sure to call the health inspector about this

DO NOT COME HERE The place is run by an old man. I came here because usually the food is not that bad. And I was craving Samoan food. Specifically oka (raw fish in coconut milk). I asked owner if there was any oka left and he said there's a lot left in the fridge where soda is. I open fridge and asked him this looks old. He goes, "No it's still good I make from yesterday." Obviously he's a liar and gave me old and disgusting food to eat where I could have caught some type of mercury or something. Anyone who knows about this place knows this is NOT where you want to get you Samoan food craving from. Everything is old and disgusting!

It was my first time here. After the Annual Pacific Islander Festival at Huntington Beach Public Library, I asked around for a Samoan of Tongan restaurant. Yelp searches only listed Hawaiian restaurants, but I really wanted something authentic. Someone told me to check out this market-it has native souvenir items and I think rental videos too? It's a culturally rich hole in the wall with a buffet line of food of your choosing. Their menu is simple. I got the Lunch Special because it had a taste of everything for $13. A bit pricey, but I was willing to pay that much to keep this small business going. This is what I ordered and they were so sweet to explain in detail what I was getting myself into lol. Taro and banana coconut milk-not too sweet. Sapasui-lamb- he joked that it was chopsuey, small pieces of lamb (yum!), no veggies. It reminded me of Pancit because it was clear, but the noodles were much thicker. Turkey tail- he told me I would love it, it was too gamey for me but seemed to be cooked with TLC Sosisi- sausage, I wondered... is this pork lol. Pineapple Moon Pie- this was delicious. Not too sweet and the homemade crust was the perfect cakey-not flakey texture. It was a crowd pleaser. Because I'm Vietnamese. He whispered to me that an old Vietnamese lady bakes them and drops them off on Saturday mornings. I will be back again for that moon pie-as for everything else, I like veggies and rice with my meat. I wish there were more places like this though. You should check it out if you're in the area!

This store no longer carries taro leaves (luau leaves). They should start carrying it again even on a limited basis, like once a month.

We attended a special Chartreuse tasting event at Strong Water which was being held in honor of…read moreChartreuse week and Chartreuse Day 1605 (May 16), the annual celebration of Chartreuse's origins and history. The tasting featured a great lineup of green and yellow Chartreuse paired with small bites. It concluded with a complementary Chartreuse-based cocktail from one of five recipes. Brand ambassador Taylor guided the event and began by telling us about the unique history of Chartreuse. The tasting started out with a small spoonful of Vegetal Elixir Chartreuse to warm up the palate. This is the base spirit of both green and yellow Chartreuse and clocks in at 138 proof. It was surprisingly not harsh, but immediately kicked my salivary glands into overdrive. I didn't even know that vintages of Chartreuse was a thing, but Taylor walked us through tasting three different vintages of both yellow and green Chartreuse, and it was surprising how different they were. The lineup concluded with more rare varietals of the green elixir 1605 and yellow cuvee. Great job, thanks Taylor! Chef Kling presented each small bite which included a crispy Icelandic cod, a roasted beet crostino, and a lamb slider. All of them had a five star list of ingredients and were delicious. Strong Water is known for their excellent cocktails, but their food is also great. For my cocktail at the end of the event, I had the Bar Flower (Green Chartreuse, Crème de Cacao, Pineapple, Lime). This was so good, with the herbal and chocolate flavors perfectly balanced. It was served with a flaming lime half. This was such a great event! Chartreuse retails for around $100 a bottle, and the higher-end varieties cost even more. At just $45 per person, this event was an amazing bargain. Strong Water frequently hosts great events, so keep an eye on their social media for upcoming dates. I really love Chartreuse, so I went back a few days later on the last day of Chartreuse week to try a few of the other limited time cocktails. I started out with their twist on a Grasshopper (Chartreuse, Crème de Menthe, Chili Liqueur, Crème de Cacao, Cream, Cane, $22). This was a great classic Grasshopper, but the Chartreuse added a herbal complexity, and there is a dash of heat on the finish from the chili liqueur. Next I had the Flare Gun (Yellow Chartreuse, Overproof Rum, Italian Bitter, Lime, Cane, $20). The yellow Chartreuse definitely comes through, but it's softer and has a light sweetness, unlike the green variety. Even though it contains overproof rum, it is perfectly balanced and not boozy at all. I usually don't like bitter drinks, but the bitterness was at a perfect light level. I finished off with the Tales from the Black Lagoon which is my favorite drink here, and it's also a favorite of many of the bartenders. All three cocktails were a home run. Chartreuse is an expensive spirit, so those drinks cost a little more than average. Shout out to Karen, Joey, Edgar, Jordan, and Ying for excellent hospitality, as always. Strong Water is our favorite place. We can't wait to go back!

Unfortunately, the inside of the Tiki Bar was closed for repairs/upgrades, but we ate on their very pleasant outdoor patio, and luckily, the weather was lovely. I'm not that into Hawaiian type food, no offense to Hawaiians whatsoever, so I found the menu to be a bit limiting. Since I just had a poke bowl the prior night, I didn't want another, even though it was probably what I would've ordered. Most other dishes were with pork, which I don't eat. Instead, I ordered chicken tenders, which is so NOT what I would EVER order, but I did on this day. The chicken was not overly greasy, and it had good flavor. The fries were even better. The poke bowl looked gorgeous, and the 3 others who got that said it was delicious, although not nearly as much salmon as they were hoping for... and it had way too much rice. (Those of us who had poke bowls from the previous night had loads of ahi tuna and the perfect amount of rice.) My husband enjoyed his bacon cheeseburger, something I'd never get. Not a fan of bacon AT ALL. My grandchildren got the chicken tenders like their grandma. :-) We ate our food to being serenaded with live music on the patio. Nice touch. I think most people come here to drink cocktails, although we didn't since we were about to make a long trek home up the I-5. I probably won't eat here again when/if we stay at this hotel, but it served its purpose when we needed it.

My little family of 3 stayed at the Disneyland Hotel so it was convenient to eat here for breakfast morning of check out. The menu is straightforward. I ordered their Ube French Toast and my fiance ordered something called Korean Breakfast Sandwich(?), I think? But honestly, I didn't really understand how it was a "Korean breakfast sandwich." Everything about the sandwich looked dry. It comes with ham, too. The toast looked to have been dipped in egg then fried for a bit. Even with that, it didn't look appetizing at all. My fiance needed some kind of sauce with it so he ended up adding ketchup which, he said, "made it a little better." As for the Ube French Toast, the ube flavor was there but after like 3-5 bites, it was getting too sweet for me. I wish the bread was sweeter. It tasted like it was for sure counting on the ube cream to give it that wow factor. Sadly, I won't be dining here again for breakfast/ brunch. I rather wait to eat and drink at Trader Sam's next door.

We ordered a couple mixed plates that included the Kalua pork, Karaage chicken, and sweet chili shrimp. Everything was amazing! In my opinion, a good kalua pork is a make or break for a Hawaiian spot, and this one was absolutely delicious! It had great depth of flavor and was incredibly addicting. The karaage chicken - although not something I typically expect at a Hawaiian spot - was amazing as well. Fantastic texture and it came with a sweet green sauce that paired really well. I forgot to take photos since we were too hungry, but I'll definitely be ordering from here again. The only thing that surprised me was their spicy mac salad.
