I called & got yet ANOTHER manager who said she'd put a gift card at the front desk that would cover our food, alcohol & something extra for the time we spent, it should have been over $100. We waited 6 weeks & went back, but no gift card. Joey stupidly let it slip that they make so many gift cards for people who never come back that they throw them away every few weeks. We had no time to talk, eat or relax, at one point I told her to forget the gift card, it wasn't worth the hassle. They have no idea how to run a restaurant & apparently don't know what repeat business is worth, which is sad, because people won't keep paying for poor service & bad food. Against my better judgement after being called by family members who were driving through UT & wanted to make a fast stop at our house for dinner, I called Slackwater to order pizza so they could eat & get quickly back on the road. OMG, we get that Slackwater puts pepperoni under the cheese, we ate there almost every week for a year & told them we had done a full search of the pizza before we called, but there was ZERO pepperoni! Slackwater is closer, but we'd rather travel than come in contact with a man so unstable he thinks it's best to threaten senior citizens, than make things right when he's the one who made the mistake. I understand inflation, but this was a gross enough difference that it borders on deception, in my opinion. I also had a bad experience with my food: I ordered a cup of their chili (which they claim is made from scratch, on-site) and it was brought to the table cold. Like, "right out of a can" cold. Kelsi, our fantastic server, returned it to the kitchen where (I presume) they nuked it and brought it back. It was heated, but not very tasty. Flat; under-seasoned; mushy textured. Definitely something I'd never order again. Many reviews say the atmosphere is "loud" but what they mean is, it's "LOUD". We were seated inside, and it was nearly impossible for the three of us to converse. The acoustics are not great. Enough cons; how about some pros? My burger was FANTASTIC! piled high with caramelized onions and pastrami, but beef patty tasted like it'd just come off a charcoal grill. Terrific flavor in every bite. (The parmesan fries were tasty, too, but a little on the soggy side.) My dining partners each had a salad (one 'wedge' and one 'beetroot') and both were well-prepared and generously portioned. One member of our 6 person party ate a couple of fries (which she asked about ahead of time due to her allergies) and she noticed something different about the fries. We asked one of the workers if they put something on the fries because they were crispy on the outside. The worker said "I don't think so." We asked if he could check to be sure so he went to ask. He came back and said "it's just crispy coating." So again we asked "can you tell us what is in the crispy coating because we are trying to avoid an allergic reaction." He replied "it's just crispy coating I don't know what's in it." So we asked "is there anyway you can find out what's in the crispy coating?" He replied "there is definitely a way to find out." He goes to the back...again. When he returns he says, "we fry the fries in a fryer with our chicken tenders. I would suggest not eating the fries." His suggestion is well-taken but we still don't know what's in the 'crispy coating.' When we were ordering, one member in my group asked for the two meat plate with brisket and pork ribs. The menu says "pork ribs." The worker said "We don't have pork ribs. We have ribs." So ribs it was. Giving a little room for grace, he was a young man who seemed to be new. BUT if you are at the cash register taking orders, you really should know what's on your menu. As for the food, it was disappointing. Portions were small. For the two meat plate with brisket and sausage, I was given one piece of brisket and a small hot link. To be fair, the menu says "8 oz" for the two meat plate so you kind of know what you're getting. When the order comes out, it looks very small. The brisket was a little on the dry side. The hot link was tasty but small. Buyer beware. TLDR; not coming back
