Good ole pizzeria in Garrett…read more.. We've seen a lot of press about CP lately, so the ole ball and chain wanted to give it a Go... Good pizza. It's kind of light, fluffy, and crispy all in one. I really liked their red sauce and they load the pizzas up with toppings. Our bill was $60 for two pies (we brought home one of them because those suckers are yuuuuge), a house salad, and two local crafties... That's a win in today's restaurant price gouging world. The restaurant itself is rather plain looking, but it's clean and the service was good... Head north on 327...about 15 minutes north of Dupont Road. They are located in a strip mall, just as you get into town, on the west side of the road. There is plenty of easy-access parking. The restaurant is smaller as it holds about 50 people. It can be busy. There are ample tables for 4 people and some for parties of 8-10 people. The menu is fairly small with only 8 specialty pizzas. Only two items on the appetizer menu - the beer cheese is a MUST try. The pizzas seem pretty reasonable priced for a 12 inch stone fired pizza - $13.45. Coterie has self serve beverage service. You can choose from one of five local beers - and pay by the ounce. Or you can fill up your cup at the soda/tea center. The team here is very friendly and helpful. They all work hard to make sure you have a good customer experience - which we did! Plenty of kitchen help to keep the food rolling..especially at peak diner time! Here is a run down on the items we ordered: -Caprese salad: smaller dish for $5.99. All cherry tomatoes and basil were very fresh and cool to taste. The mozzarella cheese and toppings blended well with the olive oil and balsamic vinegar flavors. Easy to share. -Beer Cheese ($6.99): a layer of pizza dough rolled out thin and baked to a slightly chewy texture. The dough has a slight garlicky flavor and cut into nice sized shareable pieces. The beer cheese is smooth, creamy and dreamy! You get hints of beer amongst the mild cheese flavors. The sauce is a bit thin and simply addicting! -Chicken bruschetta pizza: The golden brown crust is a little tough as it is well baked but still chewable. No special flavors are added to the crust. The bottom was soft and white. The chicken bruschetta is not your typical pizza creation. The tomato sauce was rather thin and only added a mild tomato taste zip. The chicken was tender and picked up the flavors that surrounded it nicely. The cherry tomatoes and basil toppings were very fresh and tasty. They blended really well with the olive oil and balsamic vinegar drizzles. The fresh mozzarella cheese was sprinkled in enough to help hold all the toppings in place. If you liked the Coterie Caprese salad...you would really like the chicken bruschetta pizza!

800 Degrees (Lima Road) - another wood fired pizza option…read more We occasionally visit 800 degrees for something different. You can find 800 Degrees in the east end of the strip mall behind the Starbucks/across Lima from Walmart. It's a large and open restaurant with a small bar area. There is a smaller patio for your outside dining option. They have a similar menu and pricing compared to other places like them. We find their salads to be very tasty and consistent. The team here is always friendly and hustled to serve you. The free warm/soft chocolate chip cookies found at the bar are a nice parting gift. In this occasion we ordered a 12 inch Supremo pizza for $17.85. The flour tasting crust is soft on the inside with crispy wood fired texture on the edges. The bottom is firmer without being crunchy. The toppings are fresh. The mushrooms, green peppers and onions have a slight crunch. The pepperoni and sausage have nice meat flavors and a hit of spiciness. Not much cheese. The tomato sauce definitely has a bolder tomato taste. Though the sauce is not applied very thick or plentiful. Cold Pizza Test - the crust got a little more firm and chewy, but not overbearingly. The meats began to step forward with time to marinate - very nice. The vegetables lost some of their crisp and weren't as tasty. Overall not bad.

I've inexplicably gotten a gluten sensitivity about a year ago (which sucks), so we ordered two GF pizzas. The pizzas are literally half the size of their standard Neopolitan pizzas along with a $4.00 up-charge for GF, totaling $51 for carry-out (just two tiny skimpily topped pizzas, nothing else)... This is a joke right? While the pizzas were good (not as good as their Neopolitan), $51 is laughable and frankly insulting. Wow, this is some "bold" customer price gouging and should piss-off anyone that orders their GF pizza... Albeit I wouldn't expect anything less coming from the guy that treats his customers like ill repute. Needless to say, we are officially done with 800 Degrees... From bad customer treatment to getting bent by over like a cheap Vegas hooker via price gouging, 800 Degrees and its pompous owner can get bent. This is such a travesty because 800 Degrees is an outstanding pizzeria, but there are other solid pizzerias in Fort Wayne that deserve our business because they don't do either of the above. Our neighbor is cat-sitting for us and suggested Salvatori's as a good place for Italian, and she was so right! It's not a big space and you may have a short wait for a table, but so worth it. The ambiance is casual and family-oriented, not too noisy even when full, and (best of all) there's No TVs. Heavenly! I had the pasta Apuli (minus the red pepper flakes), she had the Spaghetti Olio and we split a bruchetta and a cannoli for a to-go dessert. The portions are so large, we needed to-go boxes for both dinners even though we ordered the half sizes! Generous doesn't begin to describe this place. Our server was warm and attentive without 'hovering' and the host stopped by to ensure all's well. We're coming back through town on Monday and I think we'll be back again!
