After two years of delaying the problem I finally called and the only company that would answer the phone in a prompt professional manner was Boulevard Garage Doors. They were able to send someone out right away and was surprised how prompt their service was. Richard Martinez came out at a convenient time for me. They text updates when they're on the way and the window times in 1 hour don't have me sitting home waiting all day. Richard diagnosed the issue and also evaluated the garage door and saw a couple broken hinges I didn't even know were broken. I also needed a new remote control and it wasn't too bad $37 to replace. Worth it! I had 3 bids for replacement of my garage door springs and Boulevard Garage Doors bid was the mid priced option. Valentino was my technician and he arrived on time. He carefully inspected my door and immediately saw that the plastic bracket holding the lift arm was cracked. He explained to me that this was bound to fail sooner than later and recommended replacement but this was not a hard sell. He said I could do it myself or he could do it while he was there. He replaced the springs & bracket in about 45 minutes and I thought that was it. Lo and behold, he balanced that door, readjusted the carriage rail (which had been initially installed off-center) replaced some worn out lag screws, fixed the weather-stripping at the bottom of the door and lubricated the entire assembly. FOR FREE...My garage door has never run this quiet, I thought noisy was it's mantra! I would be remiss if i didn't mention Rachel at BGD, my initial contact person. Her communication skills and prompt follow-up to all of my queries exceeded my expectations. The other 2 companies I contacted were disappointing. If I could give 6 stars I would! Our garage door stopped working at 5:30 pm on a Tuesday. Of course, I open Yelp and Boulevard came up as open at that time and very highly rated. Called and luckily Valentino was wrapping up a job close by and was able to come within 30 minutes! Once I got off the phone, I immediately received a text message of his arrival window. He arrived right during that window. With our door mostly shut (seriously you barely could see anything inside), he was able to diagnose the problem and provide a detailed quote. I found this local company on the Chamberlain Liftmaster website, which I take to be a good sign. I called and described the issue to the salesperson (my old logic board was literally fried). She sent dispatched a tech and he was there in two hours. Paul showed up in a truck, we discussed the issues I was having and he pointed out some other potential issues we had. Without being pushy or trying to upsell me on something I didn't need, we agreed on the best option for my needs. 30 minutes later, I had a brand new garage door motor, belt, two openers, an indoor control panel, and an outdoor combination opener. To top off the great service, he tightened up all of the loose hardware on the door, installed some new through-bolts, and lubricated all moving parts and pieces. I was expecting to pay at least a thousand dollars, but the total was a little over eight hundred.
