The buyers have a great eye for antiques, especially art. The oil paintings were captivating. One in particular caught my eye and I asked about it. Linda was kind and helpful, never condescending or snobby to my questions about it. I told her I would sleep on a decision, as the painting was (for me) pricey. I could not stop thinking about it and I knew it would haunt me if I didn't take it home. I returned the next day and Linda had the painting waiting for me. They carefully wrapped it for me and offered to carry it out to my vehicle. It was such a great experience, from start to finish. Entering the art world is very intimidating for a newbie, but they made it welcoming and approachable. My new painting is the focal point of my den and every time I see it, I smile and think of our wonderful trip to rural Virginia.

I went here with my cousin because she wanted some old, thick pieces of wood for shelving, but wanted something with character. They had such a cool selection! Outside they were even slicing a huge old tree into rows that could be used for shelves/projects - they even still had the bark on them. They have tons of claw feet for tubs, balusters, stained glass... really anything imaginable from an older home. This isn't a cheap place to find home furnishings, but it is definitely worth the price for the quality/rarity.

Anyway, Gail shot an email to me and inquired if I still wanted the item. I said yes, and my wife, dog Jack and I drove up to Luray in the Page Valley. It was a beautiful twisty drive and the weather was perfect. Gail had it waiting for us. In fact, she made two- one with braided handles and the other with plain handles. We choose the Quaich with braided handles. It is CV perfect. It has the Trinity symbol painted in the glaze, fired and the whole piece is perfect. Gail is very talented and accomplished pottery artisan. Her work is excellent. We have bought several things from her over the past twenty years. Gail only takes cash or checks.

I'm assuming because I'm in my old beat up car i arrive 10 minutes early…read moretoday to go antique shopping and the owner I assume a "Karen" in a blue ford super duty pick up with the company's logo on it pulls up next to me and proceeded to get out of the truck and throw her hands up at me. I then rolled down my window and she said " Are you getting ready to leave?! You obviously can't park here look at the signs!" I assumed she thought there's no way this dude in his beat up car is going antique shopping and assumed I was I guess just hanging out in my car? Legit just got out $1,800 cash to enjoy a Sunday of antique shopping to decorate my new cabin I bought up on the mountain. It was 9:56am when she pulled up beside me and the store said it opened at 10am. I was parked in a parking spot in front of the store! I'm absolutely mind blown but I will never go back in that store as long as I live and nobody I know that is huge into the antiquing community will be going there either! So to the owner next time don't judge a book by its cover because you just cost your buissiness a lot of future money. I can't believe people are even that nasty. So if you decide to shop there make sure you dress to impress! Note: The owner is now on google saying that I had a "few choice words" when I said back to her "I guess I can leave?" Acting like I was the one to blame and lying while saying she was already there before I was, she pulled up beside me about a foot away from my car like a bat out of hell, I assume because she was mad. Just made her even worse she's not only nasty and rude but now a liar.. you won't be open long with treating customers like that and I'm sure I'm not the first to feel this way. Very disheartening.
