I love the trees LE Cooke produces. They are a wholesale nursery so unless you are buying a lot of…read moretrees, you can't buy directly from them. The first LE Cooke trees I purchased were a Santa Rosa Plum (potted) ans they are beautiful trees. I'm in Socal so the trees are a little on the higher end as far as chill hours but let me tell you, there is nothing like a tree ripened Santa Rosa Plum! I now have a Pettingill apple, Black Beauty Mulberry, Tropic Snow Peach, Peach Keen Peach, Long Beach Peach, a 4n1 apple tree multi-graft, and many more. If you can buy the trees bareroot in the late winter, thays better than a potted tree but either way, they produce wonderful trees.

I especially enjoyed their cactus and succulent selection. They had plenty of interesting and unusual varieties, including crested cacti, small collectible specimens, euphorbias, bonsai, agaves, yuccas, and some beautiful mature landscape plants. It feels more curated and personal than a typical garden center. The nursery has a relaxed, old school feel, and I liked being able to take my time looking through everything. Some plants really made me stop and take a second look, which is exactly what I want when visiting a local nursery. Definitely worth stopping by if you enjoy hunting for unique plants, especially cacti and succulents.

So we head out here the Saturday after Christmas with my family to look for a few trees. Yelp says…read morethey are open 7-3:30 on Saturdays. There is a sign outside saying 7-3:30 on Saturdays but the gate is locked. I see someone in a golf cart riding around and a sign that says "ring the bell for service." Having never been here before I think, man that's weird let me ring the bell like it says. I ring the bell once and wait about two min. A guy comes down in his golf cart and I say "Hi" He doesn't say anything and just points to the gate. I say "are you open?" He says "can't you see the gate?" How incredibly rude. I say "I only see two signs, one says open 7-3:30 and one saying to ring the bell for service." He says "We are closed." I look around and say "where does it say that?" He says "the locked gate is obvious." I didn't want to argue with some stranger in front of my kids so we just turn around and leave, wife and kids upset over the interaction. Apparently they are closed between holidays and we are supposed to figure out the bell sign is not applicable during that time. Anyhow we got what we needed from Leo's Nursery on Dinuba Blvd. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Wish I could say the same about MidValley Trees.

From the owner to Alonzo who drove us around in the golf cart showing us and helping us select the highest quality items we could find. Alonzo was not only a great customer service associate but was amazing in showing us a variety of options when looking for something with color and sun specifics. While some exotics were a little pricey they were certainly worth it in comparing the quality we purchased from other establishments. Other non-exotic nursery plants and shrubs were similarly priced and exceeded the competition by size and overall quality. It was our first time here-although we returned for more the very same day-and we will definitely be back!!!

Customer service is prompt and personal; you can't get better than that. My only ding is that their website could use a bit of tweaking to make it work more efficiently, especially on check-out. Since I mentioned it to the staff, I'll bet they've resolved all of these problems by the time my review is posted.
