We drove thirty minutes to boulder and she had the alpine massage which she raved about and loved but I had the mountain lavender massage and it was average at best. We had called the day prior to reserve the crystal mat for me and when I arrived they didn't have it. The lady doing my massage went out from the room, went to talk to some people and then came back and told me it was "in use". She then said she'd add on hot stones at no charge. They also cut my massage short as a result of it and yes we were about 4-5 minutes late but they were a bit disorganized. I paid for a 50 minute and really only got about a 30-35 minute and it wasn't all my fault. My therapist was alright but flustered and didn't ask me about pressure etc. It felt very rushed and I wasn't relaxed so for the price I paid I was honestly was pretty unhappy about it. Facilities were nice though- there is a sauna and steam room and you do get to use the hotel jacuzzi and pool. Again, to that add however the facilities were being taken up by a large bridal shower group and they were using all of the two personal change rooms and get ready space. It was very inconvenient to say the least and for someone paying, it felt like I was overlooked and maybe even a little in the way. I wouldn't be back based on the experience, for such a high end price tag I really felt service and experience would have been better. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend either.

However... We ordered Eggs Benedict/Mimosas room service (as we often do at upscale hotels) and it arrived in a paper bag in fast-food drive-thru containers. It just screamed Cheap and Cheesy. I made a comment to Nick, the guy that delivered it, and without asking he was back in ~5 minutes with plates/silverware/stemware and cloth napkins. He said he gets that a lot. Thanks Nick! Otherwise that would have been our main memory of the Boulderado. Hopefully they'll remedy that before the Sundance Film Festival in a few months. Otherwise...‍

The beds and bedding were so comfortable after a long day! In the morning there is a buffet style breakfast and complimentary coffee. The coffee was actually so good! Overall, we had a wonderful stay here and it's a great budget-friendly option!

We got the corner unit top floor with a snack bag. I'm glad we purged on the extra. I was pleased with the room overall. I liked how the parking is underground and controlled. Cons: The front desk person did not tell us where the pool is and the elevator "directory" also did not say. We found out the pool is on P2, where parking is. Also we weren't told the bar will be closed, this is on a Thuesday night at 6 pm. We didn't think breakfast ended at 9:30, I thought I read 10. When we went down at 9:28 we were told very rudely to get away from the breakfast buffet. When I went down earlier the "buffet" consisted of potatoes, eggs, bacon, and sausage. Oatmeal was also provided along with maybe 5 different cold items.l I could have paid $16 for 2 pancakes and 3 pieces of bacon. Not worth it in my mind. Those pancakes though would have to have very special ingredients to make it worth it. Recommended? Maybe. I enjoyed the room and they do have room service. I didn't do it. But I would stay here again just for the room and the location.

Arrived early and stopped in to see if we could check in early, and we were able to. Lady at the front desk was very friendly and accommodating. We were to depart the hotel on Sunday, we thought check out was at 11 am. We got ready and took some of our stuff to the car. Left stuff in refrigerator (2 sodas, carrots, water, and 3 cans of Coors beer) and personal items on the counter in kitchen (bag with reusable drink bottles, hat, medication, produce, etc.). This stuff was completely visible when you opened the door. We went out and toured the college campus then returned around 10:30am. We got to the room and found the housekeeper and a maintenance guy in the room with the door wide open. My personal stuff had been sat on the floor in the hall/doorway, and the drinks were on top of the housekeeping cart. I asked what time check out was and the lady did not speak English I assume, she did not respond she just looked at me in shock. I grabbed what she had out and went to the desk. I asked when check out was she said 12. I told her we did not check out, and they were already in our room. She told me that they had so many dirty rooms to clean they probably just opened our door and saw we were gone and assumed that we left. She said people leave stuff in the room and refrigerator all the time that they have to throw away. I said well these were personal items not just food or drinks left in the kitchen. Then while the lady at the front desk went back to speak to the housekeeping manager, I checked the bags. The three beers were missing from the bag she had placed on her cart. I asked where they went? She said they are not allowed to take any alcohol home and must leave it in a room in the hotel? She said that she asked the housekeeper, and she said they were not in there. Well, I know they were in the bag, I had prepared everything in the bag before we left in the refrigerator, I stood all drinks up right in a shopping bag so when I returned it was easy to just pick it up and grab the other bag from the counter and then check out. The front desk lady said she had left gold jewelry there and they did not steal it, they returned it. I am not sure how that was supposed to do to help my situation. She offered to let me take any items from the little store in the hotel after she had spoken to her manager. I told her it was not about the beer(I can afford to buy more), it was the principle of what happened. Someone was in our room that we rented until 12 pm on Sunday and then they stole from us. She said I will remove the parking charges from your account. Which I told her was fine, but this still needs to be addressed with management, and someone needs to investigate this. I would hate for this to happen to someone else and something of value disappear. She said this person has worked there for a while and has no history of doing this. I did request that the manager or someone above her contact me. I did receive a call from the Assistant General Manger Calynn Gwin and was told that an investigation was done and there was nothing found. Apparently, there were some teachable things that came from this that they addressed with the staff like going in room with personal items still in there before check out time. As well as teaching the front desk lady how to deal with this type of situation. She listened to me vent bout the frustration from this experience but nothing else was done. Seems like entering rooms is a common occurrence here as I read the most recent review posted on google. We visit Colorado frequently and thought this would be a great place to return next year due to the location, however now I am unsure I want to return and I will definitely start putting the do not disturb on the door and not leave anything I want missing in the room anywhere I stay. Shelf and light fixture were covered in dust and bathroom had hair in the floor and shower as well.

I was attending a conference in downtown Boulder, but looking for inexpensive, yet safe, accommodation. The reviews for Boulder University Inn were remarkably good for the price point, so I booked. When we arrived, I was a bit skeptical given the outside appearance. It looked like an old motel. Checking in at the front desk was easy and pleasant enough. It felt like a small, old school motel, which was different than the big hotel chains I'm used to, but it had its own kind of charm. The room was basic, but clean and comfortable. The real charm came from the service though. Samantha was at the front desk and when my sister and I asked about the safety of the area (in terms of walking to Downtown Boulder and back, possibly at night), she gave us great info and made us feel comfortable. Beyond giving us a quick lay of the land, we were extremely thirsty after a long walk and she was so kind as to offer us some extra complimentary waters. This was a small thing, but sets a small hotel apart from the big chains where no one has the autonomy to make someone's day with a little kindness. Overall, an affordable, safe, and decent hotel in Boulder that I'd definitely return to in the future!

The lamp and clock on the chipped and stained nightstand were completely crooked which was odd. We thought for a moment that we walked into the wrong room. This $300 stay was in a room that can be seen at a $120 La Quinta Inn. I travel for a living and am in roughly 30+ hotels a year. I was thankful though that the bed and pillows were comfortable enough to sleep well in. The towels are rough and cheap or old maybe? The bathroom counter needed repair. Just overall not good. Upon first arrival to the inn we walked in to be greeted by one in tact and one half eaten small muffin on the food bar which I guess was the snack offering as it was on a little service dish not an individuals plate. Super uninviting. The parking was great though and appreciated. We did enjoy the Great Room a little while during our stay which was cozy. When we got back from our dinner on Friday evening just before 9pm we wanted a cup of hot tea for bed and there was no longer any hot water on the beverage bar. What a disappointment. I will also say the tea choices were worse than that at a Hampton Inn. Very basic and not even close to even what a mid level hotel offers. The breakfast was nice. Quiche looked amazing but by the time we came down to eat at 9:45 which I understand is 15 minutes before it ended - the warmer was off and the quiche was cold. We did grab a muffin which tasted like it was from Safeway or Costco but it helped as we were hungry. Instead we had to eat a light bite across the street at the cafe. Another disappointment. Overall what could and should have been a really special experience felt like a run down room with a mediocre breakfast experience. I came with my adult daughter to celebrate her 26th birthday and I have to be honest and say that I felt terrible that I chose this inn. We made the best of it and really enjoyed our time together just the same because after all that is what mattered most.
