My friend and I were looking for bars around the area after we finished dinner wanted to check out Sip Wine Bar, but instead stumbled across Bottom's Up which is the actually the ground level establishment, while Sip Wine Bar was upstairs. We decided to stay at Bottoms Up since there was a DJ. Their drink menu has a good variety of cocktails and shooters and the price was on the lower end compared to other bars in SF. If you're looking for a relatively inexpensive place to drink that has a DJ, I would come here. There is a credit card minimum of around $15. Our bartender was very nice but there were only two people working that night. Luckily it wasn't crowded so we got our drinks very fast. The only reason I'm docking stars is because halfway through our time there, the music became SUPER loud. They turned up the volume so loud that my friend and I who were sitting next to each other at the bar, had to basically yell in order to hear each other. The space isn't that big so I don't think they needed the music to be SO loud, in my opinion. Our ears were ringing after we left. This bar is not fancy by any means, but it's not the worst place to get some cheap drinks/shots. They only had 2 bartenders for a Friday night, which probably contributed to the dead vibe and empty rooms. Basically like at a sports bar but it was weird, music/artist related stuff from back in the 2000s or 90s. Very chill bar with reasonable prices - came here on a Tuesday night and they had a local event showcasing old school games which were fun to play and engage with others. I LOVED my chicken sandwich from here and would come again just for that. A simple fried chicken sandwich but the breading was top notch (think it's all handmade and maybe even double fried) and the chicken was so juicy. That in and of itself was worth it. Best place in the mission to come and chill, the bartender Panda is very attentive, also has great recommendations for snacks and drinks ya must try a galvatron shot hahahaha. PROS *Spacious, clean and modern with outdoor front patio *A plethora of specialty cocktail choices *Reasonable drink prices (~$7 for top shelf liquor shots, specialty cocktails are ~$9-$10) *Food is available *Crowd is more "mixed" than Asian Invasion to the max CONS *$20 minimum for CC's *Jukebox ($1 for 2 songs). NO music if no one puts money in the jukebox. WHACKED! *Sketchy area with tons of cops roaming around Although they have a DJ spinning on the weekends, it's not a place I would spend my Friday or Saturday nights (too low-key and the crowd is a little too hood for me). Drinks are reasonably priced...strong too! During happy hour beers are $3 until 8 pm. Three flat screens to watch the game, juke box (decent selection) and dj's Fri & Sat nights. They have events here and there too. They have bar food (chicken wings, spring rolls). You can park at the BofA lot (off of Ocean St) or street parking. There's a lounge area right when you walk and is separated by glass windows from the actual bar area. This place has just about all the requirements I need in a club/lounge. - no cover - no dress code - no lines - large, long bar - dance floor - great djs - lots of seating and tables - decently priced drinks - right next to PLENTY of restaurants that are open late Some things about this place that I do not like however ... - needs more bathroom stalls (and they always run out of seat covers & toilet paper before the night is over, they should just leave extras in there) - lack of bartenders (i know that you'll have to split your tips if you have more people, but cmon ... think of what's best for the people.) - the $25 credit card minimum - can't keep your tab open (so unless you buy rounds or buy a BUNCH of drinks for yourself, then I suggest bringing cash) None-the-less this place is great and I'm sure that if it was somewhere closer to the downtown area that it would be packed every single night. read more

They got even ... but it was so worth it. While this place is sort of in the middle of no where .... and the store front next door that looked like a car drove into it scared me somewhat, the interior was classy and cool. The outdoor patio was very nice and the entire establishment as well as it's regular patrons, owners and staff were all super nice and accommodating to our rowdy Thursday night group. The drinks were made fast with a full bar and the food we had was also pretty tasty. Next time though, they need to not run out of the blue moon by 7:30. I came here one time and this became my go to bar after a long day/week at work. Shirley bartender and runs the place at the same time and Yami is the main bartender.
