I can't begin to say enough amazing things about Dr Kohli and his ENTIRE team/office and partners. From the time I walked in to the his office after being misdiagnosed for 15 years (on the verge of suicidal thoughts due to the chronic extreme pelvic pain and urgency/frequency 60-80 x a day being exhausted, pain, no sleeping, afraid to eat/drink anything and the last thing I could imagine would be sex for fear of a flare). WHAT KIND OF LIFE IS THAT? Living my life around a restroom, planning my entire life around having access?
Dr K and his team have always treated me with kindness and compassionate - they REALLY LISTENED to the problems I was having vs shoving me a box of pills and HOPE for the best.
Despite one procedure NOT working - they didn't give up - I had the Axonics neuro modulator implanted and went from having to pee 60-80 x a day to 15 x a day and getting better every day.
I have a few other problems we are working on - but they working WITH ME (not just me going to an appt and being told what the plan is) - MOST IMPORTANTLY TO ME - IS I don't feel like I'm going through this alone. Having an incurable bladder disease is scary - but Dr K and his team UNDERSTAND it and even better - THEY GET IT. They understand - (not just the frustrations of being misdiagnosed, having multiple procedures/surgeries that didn't work, they listen and THEY ACT!!!!! They FIX the problem/s NOT put a band-aid on them....
What's better than a doctor who listens to their patients and actually RESPECTS/honors THEIR feedback and OFFERS OPTIONS.
Its nice to feel like I'm actually PART OF MY TREATMENT vs just being "another patient" w/ a 10 minute appointment window.
I'm never rushed or feel like I'm a nuisance with my questions as silly/stupid as they may be. I feel confident about bringing recent literature / procedures / treatments that others have tried and some worked and some not.
Having Dr K even spend the TIME reading this info so he can give me an EDUCATED REASON or explanation for what may or may not work makes a huge difference in how anyone SHOULD FEEL WHEN SEEING ANY DOCTOR.
If your a man OR woman who is having any sort of problems with Interstitial Cystitus (w/ or w/o Hunners lesions) - or any number of other pelvic problems Dr K offers so many procedures/treatments all minimally invasive pelvic surgery and advanced technologies for the treatment of prolapse, incontinence, and pelvic pain.
Well worth picking up the phone to get more info! You won't be disappointed..... I can honestly say that after I've had close to 50 surgeries/procedures over the last 20 years (having my entire reproductive tract removed before they realized it was my BLADDER all along). Save yourself a LOT of time, money, frustration and energy (you probably don't have) and call Dr K's office at Boston Uro/Gyn.... if you've already been to the rest its time to work with the BEST!
