$44 for a large terrible pizza????. Will never order again. Cardboard, no taste crust

I ordered one large pizza for delivery from Boston Pizza in bayers lake. Not only was it a half hour late from the time they said it would be here it was cold and soggy. The manager was the delivery guy. No appolgies, no discount. The cost was $47.47 (there was a $4 charge). Definately not worth it and won't ever get anything from them. read more

Boston Pizza seems to always come through for us. We went there a couple weeks ago for supper before a movie at the Empire. We ordered the garlic cheese, hang on, let me set the stage here. One of us was having a Birthday. I did not tell the waitress, I only happened to mention, that he was going to pick the pizza, because it was his birthday. Pretty casual actually. So now the order was placed, three drinks, one large order of garlic cheese bread and one large pizza with special toppings, pepperoni, mushrooms, black olives and feta cheese on top (roasted). As we are chowing down ( I think that is still a word used)enjoying every bite,the waitress asked if we wanted any dessert, we were stuffed, at least we thought so, so we declined. We all said , no we are too full. The next thing we know , over comes All the staff, carrying this, Huge warm brownie, covered in ice-cream, chocolate syrup and caramel sauce. And yes they proceeded to announce to the whole restaurant about the birthday with everyone singing along. This was done solely because of the waitresses. I could not believe it. I suppose you are wondering if we made room for the dessert that we had said no to, Yes We Did, and it was Fantastic!!!!!! A great night at Boston Pizza ! read more

I was very impressed with the service that i received at Boston Pizza on Friday. The portions were HUGE and the food was great! I had spaghetti and meatballs and I tasted my friends Salmon dinner. Both were excellent. I went on 'Fish Bowl Friday' and what that means is you get any drink you want, poured in a fish bowl. I ordered potato skin appetizers and they were great! My total bill for the 2 of us to eat was $60. It was expensive, but worth it! read more

My favourite place to go eat out on special occasions. I always! Get the 7 cheese baked ravioli and it always measures up, mouth watering greatness. For dessert the Tropic Thunder is definitely the way to go. Churro donuts, grilled pineapple chunks, vanilla iced cream, and caramel. So good! I don't go to Boston Pizza often, I find it a bit pricey and having 2 young kids I just don't go much. But when they have the deal going on that if you donate $5 to this charity I believe it is, you get a card for 5 free kids meals. Well the only catch is you have to spend $12 or more per kids meal you would get free. But I would usually go with someone and then get both my kids meals free. Honestly I end up spending money there only because my kids both eat free, but to spend under $20 for a delicious meal for me, they get to choose whatever they want, and get a dessert, honestly I can't complain, you can't even eat at Mcdonalds for that cheap (especially where my 6 year old eats a ton) So I guess I do enjoy going here, but will only go when I have the free kids meals. I have always had good service, friendly waitresses. Only once I had an issue with the pizza we ordered not tasting very fresh, and the waitress immediately had them make us a new one, no questions asked. read more

Jim Treliving.. you rich, rich, smart, rich man you. From it's humble beginning's in Edmonton, to now.. Boston Pizza has become a staple spot to watch sports, or to have a great meal anytime. Love the sports bar, and all of the jerseys and photos that adorn the walls.. Always stick with the Boston Cheesesteak sandwich.. sans the Au Jus (who wants liquid salt on their sandwich).. a delicious treat, always cooked to perfection. I'm not going to start with "this is your typical chain restaurant" because well frankly, we all know that. So what I am going to start with is this: This Boston Pizza location is better than the one downtown, however.. do not count on great food, or great service. So the Cons first (so at least I can end on a somewhat positive note): 1. Service. Our first waitress deserted us and we were left with another. Maybe, it was a shift change but jeez, the new one didn't seem to know much. When I ordered a drink (it was fishbowl friday) from the drink menu she told me there was no alcohol in it. Since when is Grand Marnier and Tequila not considered liquor?? When I pointed this out to her (as it said exactly what was in the drink on the menu) she was befuddled. Really? It's on the menu! When the food came, NO ONE got any cutlery. We had to steal it from another table that was already done up. We noticed that other tables were offered fresh ground pepper and cheese... we were not. Friends asked for water, it never came.. When the bf and I asked to have our bills together, she separated it. Gah 2. Food. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. The bf had mushroom and chicken pasta which he added tonns of salt to. I had pasta; the prawn primavara and had to add lots of salt, pepper, and cheese to....( not the good kind either). Very Bland I will mention that normally I enjoy the food at BP. 3. The bathroom was a freakin mess. And the Pro's It was fishbowl friday and drinks were cheap. $10 for a 3 shot cocktail that you can drink from a fish bowl. Gotta like that! The thing is I will continue to go to BP. Every time I have been to BP it has been consistently blah. The food always tastes like it's been reheated from a frozen state. The last time I was there the patties in the sliders had such a weird taste I removed them and just ate the bun with the veggies. I get that they are a big chain and the food can't be made to order, but at least places like Jack Astor's make an effort, with the never frozen chicken nuggets, etc. read more

Every once in a blue moon Mike and I will try to find a decent place to eat in "the Park," which isn't easy when you're faced with places like East Side Mario's and Montana's, two places we've sworn off due to awful food. Boston Pizza, however, is a pretty good restaurant. We've always found the service very good and friendly. On our most recent visit I believe we had four different servers; we never knew who would be serving us next. That's not a complaint, it was pretty interesting! I admit that the service is a bit slow, but that could be the kitchen trying to give the impression they're actually cooking from scratch (hah). We started with the pizza bread without cheese (for lactose-intolerant me). It's still very tasty without it. I had the spaghetti and meatballs, and Mike had seafood fettuccine. Both were HUGE and provided us with lunch for the next day. Both were also very good. The prices have been creeping up, so it's not a place we visit often. If I'm going to be paying $50 for two people (with no dessert), I'd rather keep driving and go to Il Mercato. read more

I'm not really one for huge chains, and if I do grab grub from one it's usually out of starvation. This time was no exception, ended a 16 hour shift and wanted some chews and a cold Stella-- the issue was I was in NO mood for a drunk bar crowd nor did I fancy changing out of an ancient t-shirt. Enter Boston Pizza. We sat down, and I was promptly served a GINORMOUS Stella. To my pleasure it was only a few people sitting down and taking it easy. I ordered the wings and my lady had the French Onion Soup. I'll admit the wings were way better than I had ever imagined-- I was prepared for the over deep fried meatless type. The soup, according to Vanessa, was good. Different though, had a huge roll in it. She wouldn't reorder it, but didn't send it back. Went there on a date on a Saturday night very busy spot then but did not have to wait too long for our dinner. Strip loin steak cooked the way we both requested with garlic mashed potatoes, fresh veggies and ceasar salad. One of my favorite "big-box" restuarants. My favorites include the thai chicken bites, the boston "brute" sandwich, and of course, the chicken wings! If you've seen the funny tv ads they've been running in support of their chicken wings, I'd say they're right on the money. Really tastey wings, and the price point is actually more reasonable than the other big-box establishments I've been. I also enjoy the eye candy there. Excellent! Love it every time! Went last Sunday with 7 people. Our waitress was excellent!! Appetizers all came at a good time and were great! I had small Caesar salad, which was great and good portion size and I decided on potato skins and they were great! I also love their Rustic Italian pizza, it's my pizza of choice every time I go there. Boston Pizza offers an experience that leaves a lot to be desired. Everything they do is extremely mediocre, and their prices are quite high, making them a place I don't visit very often at all. Between the service and the food, they could use a lot of improvement. We'll start with the service. First of all, I'd like to state that I've been here many times (usually not by my choice), and I've only had a positive experience a few times. The worst was a time when me and my pals were left, forgotten, waiting for a bill. We finished our food, and then sat. Waiting. We piled our plates and cutlery together, put on our coats and hats, hoping to get a point across. Alas, out waitress was nowhere to be seen. We could have very easily left without paying. After twenty minutes we went to the front and told the hostess that our waitress wasn't around to give us our bill, and asked if we could pay there. After a bit of running around she was able to rustle up our bills and we paid for our meal. My recent experience wasn't horrible, but it was incredibly lackluster. Our server visited our table infrequently, and didn't attempt to start up any sort of conversation or offer and suggestions on the food. She was polite and didn't mess up our orders, and was fairly quick when we asked for something, but she didn't offer anything over the top. The food, the food. This is the reason you go to a restaurant, and even if a place has horrible service, I will come for the food. The Thai Chicken Bites, a starter, is one of those items. They are delicious. However, they are just a starter. They are also incredibly simple, and some research on the internet tells me they just use Diana sauce (whether this is true, I am unsure of. I am going to do research of my own to find out). I ordered the crispy chicken wrap for my meal, and it was okay. It was nothing amazing, but it was good and it filled my stomach. Their fries were pretty nice, but their gravy was absolutely disgusting. But what should I expect from a pizza/pasta establishment, right? All in all, not bad. But when you notice that the dishes are around $15 each, then it becomes kind of bad. It's not worth the money. Go somewhere else, unless your friends are adamant. It's daaaaaate night! Dress up, go out to eat and then to indigo for some intellectualism. But it's a review about Boston Pizza... Not my date night. Boston Pizza is well know for its sports bar theme of hockey and football. Large televisions and large selections of zaaaaaaah. Personally I don't like pizza overly, so I got a Montreal smoked meat sandwich. It was great. Not out of Montreal, but it was what I expected from BP. The service was on par with my expectations. Place was clean and we overly enjoyed ourselves. Then came the dessert. My oh my. It was, without a shadow of a doubt the best warm ooouy goooy warm chocolatie fudgy chocolate chip cookie, oven fresh topped with vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce and chocolate sauce... I took my children here for supper tonight as Mama was to tired to cook. Our waitress Jessica B was so lovely and took care of everything! Our food was excellent, grilled chicken pesto burger with a salad, and everything came pretty quickly. Boston Pizza is a restaurant that does middle-of-the-road well. There's really nothing distinct about the dishes they serve; you can get make-you-own pizzas and pastas just about everywhere. The décor is a bit cheesy and definitely gives you an out-of-the-box feeling which is absent at other restaurants in the area. Boston Pizza's menu prices have gone up over the years. Where you used to be able to eat for under $10 per person, the prices have adjusted upwards by a considerable amount: $15 and up is the average meal price, not including appetizers or drinks. I've never found the food to be anything special. The service is generally slow and we've been completely forgotten about on two separate visits. read more

I've been here a few times. It isn't terrible but I haven't been wowed either. It's a big chain restaurant and the servers act as such. The food is always good though! I especially seek out BP for their Spicy Pierogi Pizza! It's my fave - so unique and I can only get it here, I will always come back for it. I try other things but I'm addicted to it. read more

We decide to eat at Boston Pizza. We arrive around 7:30 pm. When we entered the place there was no one out front, we wanted 5 mins before someone arrived to seat us. We are server was friendly. She told us about the chicken wings. My wife said she does not like hot wings so we ordered mild. Well the wings were hot and spicy. She then said all the wings have alittle heat. She replaced then with honey garlic, mine while our mouths were burning. The honey garlic wings were good. My wife order a med pizza and salad and I ordered medium rare steak and pasta. The pizza was good but very pricey. My pasta was good, but my steak. Came well done. The second steak was prefect. Over all the serve was great and once they corrected the food it was good. Very underwhelming. Service, (delivery), was good but the Tuscan pizza wasn't. The crust was doughy and seemed undercooked and limp. I couldn't distinguish any individual flavours though the pizza looked amazing. I added the crushed chilli peppers and parmesan, included, to add some flavour but the parmesan just made my pizza taste like dirty socks. Not recommended. read more

I ordered the pulled pork pasta, and the dish was served cold. The waitress didn't come back to see how our meal was, so I had to flag down the bus staff a couple tables over. After re-heating my food, the waitress and/or manager explained that when they take the pre-cooked pasta out of the fridge, they mix it in with the sauce and heat it all together. Sorry, what? You pre-cook the pasta? So the food isn't even made to order, minus a star. The waitress also mentioned this isn't the first time that's happened to her, picking up a dish from the kitchen, and finding out it's been served cold. It sounds like they have some problems with the kitchen staff there. Then the pork had this slimy texture that I was unsure of while eating it. Well after I was sent running to the bathroom about an hour after I left, I seriously suspect it was from undercooked pork. The manager did comp the plate, which was good of her. Not a great visit with my girls(children) on this night. It was busy yes--but really...lets be honest...that should be what places like this are prepared for. Especially on a weekend. We waited about 15-20mins to get in--which was fine. They advised us of that. We were seated browsed the menu's. Our waitress came back and took our orders. We ALWAYS start with the Cactus Cuts. This is 80% of the reason why we keep going back!! Those tasty little crispy chips have got me hook line and sinker. So I say " We'll start with the Cactus cuts"..... The kids ordered individual pizza's and I ordered a new pasta dish. So after about 15mins of waiting(no exaggeration) I flag someone down----Um excuse me but we ordered some Cactus Cuts to start and its been quite a while??? So she went out back and sure enough came out with the Cactus Cuts. First off the portion I am sure was HALF of what it has been in the past? Maybe they reduced it? I don't know. But for $11.00 there needs to be more on that plate. Then...about 30 seconds after she brought those out...out came the rest of our meals?? What the heck??I didn't want an appi WITH our meals? I wanted one to munch on while we waited for our meals. I brought it to her attention and she offered to put our meals under the heat while we ate our appi? I said..no thanks. When I advised we were ready for the bill I figured that it would have been adjusted accordingly for the lengthy wait on the appi. Nope. So I bring it to their attention. She has to take it to the manager. The manager then asked me what the problem was, and I advised that I asked for the Cactus Cuts to start. I wouldn't have ordered them if I knew they'd come WITH the food. She says.."Well the waitress says you ate them didn't you?" OF COURSE WE DID!!! The point was that they forgot about them(obviously) until I brought it back to their attention 15 mins later. Then she gave me some spiel on how thats the way it has to be as the pizza;s only take 6 mins etc etc. That was a load of.... We always order the same thing. That appi is generally out on our table within 3-5 mins upon ordering. So..needless to say I wasn't pleased with the way she handled it. Basically not accepting responsibility for some poor service. I mean I wasn't looking to get them for FREE, but how about a discount? She said she couldn't remove them from the bill gave me a voucher for a free drink and individual pizza for our next visit.... read more

Visited in late November 2013 with a large (20+) group for lunch. First off, our waitress was a delight. Cheerful, quick, efficient and helpful, all orders were spot on and overall service was slick. I had a pint of Rickard's Red and chose the full sized jambalaya fettuccine (they also do lunch sized portions of their entrées in combo's). Both were fine, no complaints on quality, though my "pint" looked an ounce or so short. I was also disappointed that in a city with at least half a dozen very fine small breweries, the only "local" beer was the dreadful Keith's "IPA". However, the prices are not good. $8 for a pint? $17.25 for a plate of spaghetti and a few shrimp with sausage? I'm sorry, but we are talking a mark up at least a third over anything approaching good value. One of my colleagues was spitting teeth at being charged nine bucks for a pint of stout and I was in full agreement. In short, if money's no object or you order from the pauper's menu (such as avoiding alcohol), the quality and service will convince you that you've done well. Have eaten at this location several times, although mainly over a decade ago. But came back again on a recent Tuesday evening during a Jays playoff game, as we are limited in the Clayton Park/Bayers Lake area to find places to watch the game and have more than just pub food. The lounge side when you walk in the door was about half full when we arrived, just at the bottom of the 1st. There are probably a dozen tables in this section, and it was full by the time the game ended. The other side of the restaurant is more a family dining experience, without the TVs and sports memorabilia, but just as big in size. Friendly staff. Service was a bit slow this night though, as there seemed to be only two servers on the floor of our side. It was wine Tuesday so I had a few 6 oz glasses of $6 Copper Moon pinot grigio, but it took about 10 minutes to get each glass. As my meal, I tried the Baked Seven Cheese Ravioli ("ravioli stuffed with Parmesan, Emmental, ricotta, fontina and Romano with your choice of our beefy Bolognese or signature marinara sauce, finished with pizza mozzarella and cheddar, then baked to perfection" 15.95) which was very cheesy, hot and a good portion size. I requested their Fifty/50 rose sauce instead, which was not a problem. Nothing overly special about it, but tasty enough and no complaints. My partner had the Chipotle Chicken Club ("BP's take on a classic. A juicy chargrilled chicken breast, crispy bacon, fresh tomatoes, lettuce and tangy chipotle Caesar sauce piled between two pieces of our signature pizza bread" 13.95). and it looked very fresh. He liked, with a side Caesar. Surprisingly, after the pasta, I wasn't too full so opted for the Panookie dessert ("Baked to perfection! A giant, freshly baked, pizza-pan chocolate chip cookie served with vanilla bean ice cream and drizzled with chocolate and caramel sauces. Due to the nature of this item, we recommend it be enjoyed in the restaurant and do not offer it for Take-out or Delivery" but I don't see the price online, nor remember it/guessing around $8 ). It was very good and exactly what you'd expect, although I did become very full while eating it so couldn't finish the full thing. Although I'm not a lover of chain restaurants, I'd go back here if someone else wanted to. There are several vegetarian options on the menu that look decent to me, but I especially want to try some of their frozen cocktails again, like I used to enjoy years ago. I know what you are thinking; a 5 for a restaurant chain franchise? Come on man! To you I say, context matters. Boston Pizza advertises itself as a great place to get a meal with your family at affordable prices. They hit the mark. It's rare, no matter how large a group, that everyone can't find something they enjoy. Kids are happy and parents are happy. They are as advertised. What I always find stands out is their staff. They are welcoming, genuinely kind, helpful and engaged. My daughter has Celiac and as soon as we tell our server they always show they have been well trained on the subject. They explain everything, ask great questions and really take the time to make my child feel well taken care of. It's frustrating on little kids how limiting eating out can be with celiac, they feel like they miss out. Boston Pizza has been an amazing find for GF options. As corny, or should I say cheesy, as it sounds, the effort put in by Boston Pizza really makes a difference. So for that and more they get a 5 from me...a very quickly becoming regular customer! read more

Food was average for the price. Service was close to the worst I've ever had. At one point the waitress asked if we wanted more water. We said yes (group of three). She brought one glass a water put it down and walked away leaving two empty glasses on the table. I had to go find someone to refill my daughters water. The floor in the restaurant was so filthy with food and waste. Overall disgusting. Never again!!!!! read more

My husband took me and our son here last night.. I had shrimp tacos which were ok, but It was the virgin ceaser that turned me off completely.. the drink was watered down tomato juice with half a glass filled with ice on top of that. Also the piece of celery was a huge massive chunk of dried shrively grossness that took yet more room up in the glass. The lime on the rim was old and dry as well. Literally must of been sitting out for a day along with the celery. Anddd! They had the nerve to charge $4.25 for a bit of tomato juice which was mostly water topped off with a couple pieces of old produce! read more

while visiting the bayers lake boston pizza location I got 3 different servers. They were friendly and all too, so that was ok. The order was long to get... about 25 minutes. And the restaurant was not busy. Out of the 4 orders at my table I was the last to vet my meal, potato skins. They messed up my order and blamed it on the cook not seeing the order correctly. So they took it back and said it would be 5 minutes. 10 minutes later the corre t order arrives. But now they are cold in multiple spots. So waiter came back to check on my table and was told they were cold. They took them back and I assume nuked them for a minute. Not impressed even though the manager said there will be no charge for them. The rest of my table was done eating and I was just starting... This was my third time here in a year and always had a problem with the food temperature or incorrect order. I will have to strongly think about any return visit.you read more

So, we went to Boston Pizza for a late lunch/early supper on December 21st, 2019. There were four of us (my aunt, uncle, mother, and myself) - all over the age of 50, so we were seated in a booth. There were two parties going on - one was a young girls' sporting event and the other was a bunch of 10-13 year olds. We could not hear a thing. The children were running past us around in a square. They were throwing hats, mittens, etc. They were standing and running on the seats. The adults that were with them, did nothing. We called our waitress over and explained our concerns. She told us that the managers told them not to do anything. It was the most horrible outing....EVER!! When we went to the head desk and asked for the manager. We told him about the craziness and noise and all he said was "I am sorry that happened. I wasn't here...I was delivering an online order". WTF???? seriously??? We were there for well over an hour and the manager was not there. He did not offer a solution and, because he didn't see/hear anything, he did nothing. These children were out of control!! The worst service I`ve experienced in Halifax. It seems like the servers are hired for their looks rather than their ability to do the job properly. Last time I went in I waited fifteen minutes before I finally had to ask somebody to get my waitress for me. Once I had ordered my food and drink it came without the sauces and not only had I finished both before the waitress returned but she brought me my check while I was looking at the dessert menu; I guess she thought I was already full. read more
