If I could leave a zero star rating I would. I bought diabetic foot pads here in 2024 and was satisfied with them. However, this time the entire experience was terrible. It started in October and I didn't get my pads until May. I called many times without getting a return call. I had to drive 45 minutes each way to the office on 4 occasions. When I went to pick them up in February the arch was way too high. The owner said she could fix them and wouldn't make new ones. She ground off some of the pad and then said to wear them and get used to them. I tried, but had to take them back. She then said she would grind the bottom of the pad again. She did that while I waited and they were still not comfortable. She said that if last year's pads were comfortable she would make one of them (not all three) to make sure that last year's form was still good. I drove back in to try it and this time the pads were comfortable. After 4 trips of an hour and a half each, many phone calls, many of which weren't returned, and waiting 6.5 months, I finally have the pads that I expected last fall. Never again. read more

I called for a quote on orthotics and they told me $1150, $450 for the assessment and $700 for the insole. That seemed exorbitant to me, so I called another orthotics business and they quoted me $250!! So I called back to Boston Pedorthic and asked if they understood the difference. They couldn't really explain it, so if I were you, I would not spend any $$ with this outfit. read more

Wonderful experience! I am in the medical field myself and I was so impressed with Andre who did the fitting for my brother's shoes. He spent so much time with my brother making sure everything was just right, including doing a lot of teaching. He has a lot of knowledge and experience. I called for an appointment ad was told they needed a summary of my last Dr. visit. (as ell as the prescription which i emailed to them). My PC immediately sent the summary AS REQUESTED . A month went by- no call etc. so i finally called them,. When she finally found my fil she stated the summary from my PC did not include the diagnosis they needed. No one said a specific diagnosis was needed, just a summary of the visit, which they got the same day I called. I could understand maybe there was a miscommunication- that happens. but a MONTH went by - why didn't they call me and tell me they needed more info? There was no explanation given. So even before actually having an appointment they made two mistakes. I am off to a different company. read more

I have had very flat feet since birth and have always had pain and difficulty walking. To top it off I am diabetic and have resulting neuropathy in my toes. I have used Boston Pedorthic as my main source of shoes and foot support for at least 4 of the last 5 years. They have provided me with an excellent shoe and custom molded inserts of the highest quality. Their products make my feet happier! If you are planning to park your car there, find how many parking spaces there are. The parking area may be full or too small for your vehicle. Find an alternate location before hand. In some places parking is available for 30 minutes or so or the parking lot is room for about a dozen cars. Those spaces are quickly taken up. Appointments there may take a few hours depending on what type of shoe you need. The business owner can be very nice to you one day & scream at you the time you go there. They hired a lot of off shore people & some things did not work as expected. read more

Rude and Unprofessional. Stay away. I feel totally ripped off. I spent $1,000 and got ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I went to see Eric because I was having foot pain and need some orthotics. First, he charged $500 for a gait analysis. It was described as a "one time thing to provide knowledge that you will benefit from your entire life." I only found out after the fact that there is no "report" of any kind. When asked to explain what he found, Eric said "It was too complicated to explain to a layman." What a pompous ass. I continued to request some type of report and was promised something that was never delivered. So, I gained nothing from this $500 mistake. I felt stuck at that point and foolishly gave him another $500 for custom orthotics. He made me a very unimpressive, flimsy pair that I couldn't wear. After several futile adjustment attempts, Eric finally acknowledged that he needed to start over. His second pair was not any better. I really couldn't begin to break them in because they hurt as soon as I put them on. Shortly after receiving the, I had to have two eye surgeries and I could not return for my entitled follow-up appointment. I emailed Eric and he said contact me when you're ready. But when I recovered and contacted Eric for the follow-up, wife and office manager Elizabeth responded with an Intuit invoice for $125. She wanted payment before I made the appointment. What? What happened to the follow-up appointment I was entitled to? Elizabeth is particularly rude and uncaring. It is clear that she does not care about me as a patient. Her quick trigger invoice shows where her focus is. This has been such an unpleasant experience that I do not want to go back. I am fighting for some sort of refund. My insurance company pays for three pair of shoes under the senior care options plan. Washington refuses to give me the second and third pair even though my insurance company has told them that is covered and they will be paid for them. They snuck me in telling me that I was getting to read when I actually only had the one and said there are two were on order which was a lie. They were just trying to get some money. They suck. Fish has been going on for 7 months. I've informed my insurance company I'm leaving now for another let them go with the idiots at Boston Pedoryhoxs and theitheir terrible customer service. I have had severe bilateral club feet since birth and I have been getting shoes made by orthopedic shoe makers all my life in several countries. My recent encounter with Boston Pedorthics has been the worst , least successful and most expensive experience of the last 73 years. The outcome has been shoes that were unusable despite months of adjustments and refurbishing attempts and climaxed by ( what I experienced as ) a defensive , unkind and avaricious unprofessional refusal to give me a full refund as promised when I first tried them on in their store and indeed they subsequently proved unsatisfactory . I was initially accused of lying by Eric Schuster's wife and store manager , Elizabeth, and then with bad grace was refunded 1,000 dollars of the 2,600 dollars I paid them upfront. I also spent an additional 700 dollars on the adjustments that failed to solve the problems over about 3 months of pain and frustration. I am also a physician and academician as well as a patient and found their behavior mean spirited , unprofessional and incompetent. I would never send any patient or friend of mine to them and post this to all of you as a warning. read more

I made two trips to Boston from Baltimore to get shoes and orthotics from Boston Pedorthic. I saw what they had done for a friend of mine who had suffered from pain related to his feet for as long as I had known him. He explained Boston Pedorthic's approach - the foot, the orthotic and the shoe all have to work together...you can't use the same orthotic on all shoes...it is best to have an orthotic made specifically for shoes made on the same last. The results have been fantastic. While it may seem a bit expensive at first, I have stopped buying shoes that I then quickly throw out. These guys are great. And they make a special point of opening for me on the weekend when I come (like twice per year). Long way, but it is worth it. read more

I have been a customer of Boston Pedorthic for more than 5 years now. For years I could not go for long walks as inevitably my back or even worse, my hips would begin to hurt. I stopped playing tennis or engaging in many other activities that I used to love. Orthotics made for me by podiatrists or orthopedic surgeons failed to improve things in any meaningful way. And, I always had to wear ugly shoes. Boston Pedorthic changed all that for me. They say that the best things in life are worth waiting for. And yes, at times I had to wait, either for an appointment or for my shoe/orthotic combinations to be ready. The reason is the unbelievable attention to detail that Eric, Elizabeth and the team lavish on each customer/patient. That is the reason that they get things right. Referred here by podiatrist. It's a bit of a shlep for me, but well worth it in the end. During the first lengthy appt. my feet were measured every which way, heat molded for orthotics, and I was asked my medical history. During the 2nd appt., my purchased shoes with custom orthotics were fitted. Bill Chauncy is professionally certified. I left BP wearing the new shoes and walked for two hours... My walk/feet/back are cured! Hallelueh!! BP gave me great comprehensive, professional, service. Let's be clear-- they offer more than "your grandmother's shoes." Stay away from this place. My husband and I have never been treated as shabbily as by the woman whom the owner called his "CFO". I found out latter, she is merely the bookkeeper. We traveled close to two hours to reach their Boston location. Upon arrival, there is no legal parking whatsoever. Each parking space has a sign stating, "Parking by permit only". In desperation I backed up on the extremely busy road and went into a semi circle FIRE LANE in order to ask the people at BP where there is LEGAL PARKING. I was instructed, by the bookkeeper to remain in the FIRE LANE, with its sign of towing, ticketing, etc. and it would be fine! I do not park illegally, nor want to jeopardize a fire truck's entrance during an emergency. I advised her I did not choose to receive a ticket or to be towed and her response was, "THAT IS IRRELEVANT TO ME!!" I could not believe my ears. She was hot headed and continued to yell at me when I attempted to explain to the owner what had occurred. I could not believe he actually took her side, telling me 'SHE IS MY CFO"!!! I never observed such bad business practice. He proceeded to get my husband out of the car, place him in his wheelchair and bring him into his store! I was very upset and could not speak, after the treatment I had received. When inside, the owner told my husband he would take good care of him as his surgeons (naming them) do. I could not believe my ears once again. I told him my husband's surgeons had nothing to do with him coming to his store. He looked at me incredulously and said, "Did not Dr. XXX refer you to me?" I said, "Absolutely not." He then asked me why I was there and why the prescription was so nicely written by Dr. XXX. I told him I merely Googled a place for custom shoes and had very deep regrets. I had asked Dr. XXX to fill out the necessary paperwork. Needless to say, I advised the owner we were leaving and I wheeled my husband out to the car. My suggestion...they are rude phonies and only want your business. There are multiple stores/companies around supplying custom shoes. Use a different source and be smart!!!! read more
