Whenever I have had to have my leaf blower serviced, they ALWAYS get it right the first time. Sometimes, the repair takes under a minute, and they charge me nothing. If I have to leave it there for service, they always have it fixed on time, and for a decent price. These people here do great work, and my money is well spent there for the service that I require. read more

Just a horrible & disappointing experience with the warranty service of my Cub Cadet lawn tractor. Not once in my life have I felt compelled to log a BBB complaint--but I do now. So, as to not make this review overly long and wordy, I'll summarize; after one misdiagnosis and failed repair, not only has Boston Lawnmower been unable to repair my intermittent failure to start/crank issue, but they have had my mower (which is under full factory WARRANTY mind you) for over 3 months. Oh, I should also note--I was charged for this initial "repair" (which was not a "repair" at all as it fixed absolutely nothing) stating that since it was an adjustment, it was not covered under warranty. I have not had the mower all summer. I sense absolutely zero sense of urgency on their part; the last time I have ever been afforded the luxury of speaking to a manager was in early August, close to 2 months after they originally picked up the mower for service. At this time I was told that the (re-diagnosed) suspected problem was a bad carburetor and that the unfortunate news was that a part might take two weeks to receive. Since then, it's been a never-ending series of pushed-back estimated ship dates and delays. I never receive unsolicited updates. Whenever I call and/or email, a customer service rep will respond with a new, delayed ETA, saying "sorry, but it's beyond our control". In the the latest communication, the rep was unable to even estimate any ship date at all. Maybe the most disturbing part of the whole thing--after over 3 months, even though I am told the hold-up is just the part order, I have low confidence that THEY even think the part will fix my problem. A carburetor causing the motor unable to even crank? Ok, they are the experts I suppose. It's not very often that one company destroys the reputation of three for me, all at the same time. But Boston Lawnmower has. I am truly sorry I ever trusted Cub Cadet, Kohler and Boston Lawnmower and never will again. If this is the way manufacturer warranties are honored--no thank you. read more

Wanted to buy a new $5'000 snowblower. First one they showed me did not start properly (quick spark pop.} They brought a new one out, the battery was dead so impossible to start. They did not have a ne w battery. Called harvard power they showed me one in perfect condition and I purchased it for same price as Boston. I once wanted a Gravely Mower from Boston They offered me $600 for my toro which I purchased from them. They kept stalling me on availability of the Gravely of 6 weeks. They claimed they could not get any. I called Harvard power who had 6 of them I purchased it. They offered me$900 for my toro. I bought my last snowblower from Boston. It has been in 3 times for repair but has never been perfect. {therefore the decision to buy the new $5000 model} Have you had trouble with any issues with Boston?Try Harvard power. read more

Absolutely ridiculous... We had our WORKING snowblower picked up for a tuneup on Nov 2. I figured even with pandemic, more than enough time to tune up & return before snow flies. Boy was I WRONG. After no contact, we followed up early Dec. to see what was up. We were told that the technician looked at it and it wasn't worth a repair...$900 to fix all they found...what? We were told then that parts were taking 3-4 weeks to come in & service was backed up. NOW you tell us?? We asked them to return it as-is & was told next time they came to our town was Dec 14. That day comes & goes with no delivery. Called back on Dec 15 & was told their notes showed WE would call back to schedule a delivery...what?? Also was told that the repair paperwork was confusing...and was do-able for $450. My husband approves (it's older & worth maintaining) We're told it will go on bench next day (they had all the parts they needed) & target return is Dec 22. Again, that day comes & goes. So we call back...it's done, but can't be returned til Jan 4! Now I realize things are delayed due to pandemic, but this is NOT what I call proactive customer service. What's the point of NOT telling us about delays when we first called for the pickup? Upsell attempt x2 feels totally shady. And, what is up with accelerating the fix the week before Christmas only to end up keeping it there for a holiday break? Is there ANY repair & delivery schedule planning going on? Am I ticked off that they'll have it for the bulk of snow season, and that I've had to shovel 2x already? YES. Would I be less so if they were better communicators & actually did what they committed & simply kept good notes? ABSOLUTELY. This thing better work perfectly when it arrives...IF it ever arrives. I am NOT trying to kick someone when the worlds gone crazy. I know it's hard (for us all). I'm simply pointing out that good & proactive communication goes a LONG way...ESPECIALLY in these times. Might I update this review if this company read & responds appropriately. YES. Til then, would I recommend them for repair? Read & decide for yourself. read more

Bought a lawnmower from the and a snowblower over the last couple of years. Very satisfied with the process. Knowledgeable folks in the store to show you around and help you pick what you need. Good selection. I didn't shop around too much so I am not sure how competitive the pricing is. My snowblower was delivered all set up and the delivery person gave me a quick and helpful tutorial. They also took away my old broken one for no additional charge. Just today I called service because my 2 yo machine was running slow and I thought it may be broken. The service area helped me troubleshoot it on the phone (very nice guy on the other end). It was a setting that needed adjusting - nothing was wrong. Saved me the trouble of hauling the blower to them. This excellent customer service is why I decided to take the time to write the review. read more

On the plus side- they took my snowblower quickly for service, on the bad side was the service they did. I dropped it off to fix a belt slipping off. They convinced me to do a full service tune up, $350 later and my snowblower now stalls frequently, they welded a sheer pin in my auger bar, and my gas tank had a piece of my gas cap in it. Do not use this place for service. read more

Please watch out for this place. We had brought our Snow Blower for repair. Initially, they said it would cost around $50 or $60 to fix. Then they called indicating it would cost $500 to fix. It is too expensive, so we decided not to have it fixed by this shop. When we went there to pick up, they refused to put it back together and there are missing parts. We have never seen a place like this before. They are very dishonest. We will never go to this place. If we can, we will rate this shop "0". read more

Bought a blower, very knowledgeable sales staff made the purchase easy and service made sure the machine was set to go. I had a good conversation with a nice man who turned out to be the business owner , I reccomend this business for a friendly easy purchase of quality equipment. On the positive side, I can definitely say the salespeople aren't pushy! Not sure what is going on, if they have all of the business they need/can handle but they were definitely not interested in selling to us at all. We started there specifically to give our business to more of a small business but we ended up going to Lowe's across the way instead. read more

There are a couple Boston lawnmower and i want to make sure this review is seen! I chose Boston Lawnmower for my snow thrower service and it was a big mistake. I called them in September and they told me that the process would take about a month. This would have meant that I would get my machine back in October, well before the first snow fall. After several weeks of not receiving a call to schedule service I called them, they told me it would be a few more weeks. They finally called me the week before thanksgiving to schedule my pickup. They picked it up and I assumed that it would be back in a couple weeks. After a few weeks went by I called to check the status. They told me that they hadn't even looked at it yet. But that it would be looked at by the end of the week. When they finally looked at it (2 months after my origional call to them) they told me that they didn't have a part that I needed and that they would need to order it. This means that my snow thrower sat there for weeks before they even looked at it and that now the part that I needed would take an additional week to come in so they could fix the unit. I asked to speak to the manager and some toothless guy told me that he wasn't in and that he would call me back... after hours of waiting I went down to the store because I felt like I was getting the run around. By the time I got down to the store it was close to 4 pm. When I got to the store they tried to calm me down by telling me that they would order the part first thing in the morning!! WHY DIDNT YOU ORDER THE PART THAT DAY!!! WHY WASN'T THE PART IN STOCK!! WHY DIDNT YOU LOOK AT MY MACHINE WHEN IT FIRST CAME IN SO YOU COULD HAVE ORDERED THE PART THEN! There was nothing I could do.... I had to take it up the rear and wait for them to actually do some work... They called me 7 days later to schedule the drop off saying that the earliest time they could deliver it was not for another 2 weeks because the truck was full!!! The guy on the other end of the phone obviously wasnt too bright and directed me to the manager. they eventually agreed that they could put it on the truck that week. During the time that my snow thrower was serviced I had to pay $200 for an emergency snow plow. Couple that with the ridiculously expensive service, I could have went to Lowes and bought a whole new machine!! All in all this place is terrible and I will be going to Robinsons from here on out! read more
