I sometimes think a park is a park, but this is such a nice, calming, beautiful space in the middle of the city. There is a lake with swan boats, flowers, statues, shady trees, plenty of benches, and tons of space to just catch your breath. Tons of people with dogs everywhere getting away from it all. In summer especially, it is perfection. If you're nearby, you absolutely have to stroll through or make an afternoon of just chilling in nature. We actually parked in the Boston Common garage, so if you do that, just make a note of the exit you come out of so you pick the right one to get back in.

I love well planned green spaces in the central areas of big cities, some of the most famous of which are Central Park in NYC and of course, Boston Commons. Tonight after our dinner we enjoyed walking through here and Boston Public Gardens for a good 1.5 hrs catching up with our daughter. There was a growing crowd of happy people (families and children too) cheering the Iraq World Cup team who will play their first match tomorrow against Norway here in Boston. About a dozen Boston police were watching from the sidelines on their motorbikes and I prayed all would stay peaceful. Meanwhile, pedestrians, dog walkers, families were enjoying the fresh cool evening amidst the grandiose trees, lawns, ducks, fountains, and historic statues. If you're in the area, definitely stop by, and also check out the Boston Public Gardens, which are even more landscaped and welcoming!

Came here for the elephant migration! We had no idea what to expect but were astounded by the scale and precision of the craftsmanship. This is a temporary exhibition but Boston common is a long strip which is also home to a fireman memorial and is right near Newbury street. It's a beautiful shady walk, even on a warm day. I recommend stopping by and frequent this walk when in Boston!

This review is separate from the Boston Public Gardens which is just across the street and pretty much connected. Boston Commons is a normal urban park in some ways with a playground for kids, a pond, park benches, a carousel, baseball stadium, and food vendors. It's also part historic park with monuments including one of the 54th Civil War all black regiment, a plaque saying this is the oldest park in America and others. It's also a part of the Freedom Trail. There's also a small cemetery in the park. The park is both busy and relaxing. It's smaller than I expected but that may just be because it felt like I went through it quickly. Time flies when you are having fun so maybe distance does too. Boston Commons is a must stop on any trip to Boston.

Had a great experience at Boston Common during a recent work trip. I decided to get up early and go for a walk, and it turned out to be one of the best parts of my visit. The park has a really relaxing vibe in the morning. Plenty of space, nice paths, and just a great atmosphere to clear your head. It's perfect whether you're looking to go for a run or just take a casual stroll. Definitely a spot I'd recommend if you're in Boston and want a peaceful way to start your day.

I loved Boston Common. Since it's in the middle of everything, I visited it 3 times during my stay. It has a T stop near by- named after it- Park, a great Visitor Center, and this is where the Freedom Trail starts! Boston Common is the oldest public park in the USA. It has a very European look, and I'd say it's one of the prettiest in the country! It's hard to believe it used to be a cow pasture! Now the city spreads all around it and it's a nice refuge from its hustle and bustle. Boston Common is a nice mix of everything: nice sculptures and monuments, they have events here - plays, outdoors screening, street fair, a Chinese parade while I was in town (Chinatown is next by) with dragons- fun! People have small gatherings, walk, sightsee. But there are many peaceful spots where you can relax, have a snack, read a book. Lots of seating on the grass, lots of benches - people are friendly here, greet you - at least in my case! There's a cute carousel and restrooms (at the Visitor center also) - just follow the signs! Nice vegetation, cute oasis in the middle of the city. Lots of historic sites: Robert Gould Shaw Memorial, The Soldiers and Sailors Monument, Boston Massacre Memorial. You can see the Dome of the Massachusetts State House from here! I loved Boston Common, I'd come here often if I would live in Boston! Lots of activities, people watching, you are in the middle of everything, but far away too. Great views of the city!

Boston is an awesome city! I love how much history and green space is preserved. The statues and historical plaques are found all over this town. The Boston Common is one such place where you can stretch your legs, people watch and then grab a delicious coffee or bite to eat in a nearby cafe. The squirrels and birds at this park are very accustomed to humans to the point of coming up to you. That was different. The squirrels were huge. We also saw a lot of off leash dogs which was fine with us but if you are apprehensive about dogs you might want to keep that in mind. I would definitely recommend this place!

Boston common is a gorgeous green space that I have had the pleasure of visiting multiple times now. That's a good thing too because there is so much space and so much to see here that it can definitely take more than one visit to appreciate its beauty and all that it has to offer. It's known as the oldest public park in the United States and I personally love the way that it's laid out. I wish they still made parks like this. There are wide open lawns with winding paths, people sitting on benches or enjoying picnics on the grass with their dogs. I have seen large events here and even performers as well as family barbecues and groups of people just gathering to spend time together outside. It's nice to just be in this beautiful green space surrounded by the city skyline and historic buildings. I can really sit here and appreciate that I'm in an important City but also feel like I have this little bubble of an oasis surrounding me and keeping everything calm. It's just a nice place to exist and enjoy nature for a bit and it also connects to the Boston public garden which is another gorgeous space for just enjoying nature. It's unfortunate that I have never been able to stop here when I have had my dog with me on a trip through the city because I know she would love visiting this park. Who wouldn't?

I enjoyed visiting Boston Common. The history is interesting and you can do a lot here with that in mind. You can also just stroll through the park, enjoying the late summer sunshine. This park isn't as big as I thought it would be and it's a super easy stroll. There are a lot of sites/artwork to look at as you make your way through. It's also a very nice detour if your hotel is on the other side. There seem to be a lot of event that happen here and there was even a food truck court sponsored by a college that was open to the public. Very cool. We didn't do the carousel or any of that. We just looked at art and took a stroll. We also found some benches to sit at and people watched for a minute. Although this was nice, I will say that if you want to sit, take a minute walk across the street to Boston Public Garden. It's a bit cuter, sorry to say.

Beautiful park! Lovely green space with art and plenty of places to sit and relax. Every summer there is a free Shakespeare show performed. My friend is in it and it's "As You Like It, performing thru August 10. There are food trucks concessions too.

The famous boston common. Another small little park located near/in the north shore. Plenty of room to move around, and a small little escape from the city.

Beautiful day at a beautiful park

Beautiful summer day at beautiful park. Lots of benches to sit and enjoy your day as well a large splash park to dip your feet in to cool off.

Jill G.

Beautiful historical park. We met here to go on the freedom trail tour. It was beautiful.

Are there public bathrooms in/near Boston Common?

I know there's one on the other side across the street from the lake side.. The side with the merry go round and the park playground.

Hailing…read morefrom California, it was quite bizarre to me to see World's End, where deciduous forests and fall foliage appear to blend seamlessly into dramatic seaside bluffs and the scent of the Atlantic floats over the entire isolated peninsula. There is also a small tidal marsh and bird blind. The hills in the peninsula are called drumlins, due to their shape and how they were formed from glacial migration. Parking costs about 15 dollars and there is not a whole lot of parking. You really should get an advanced pass, but we were fortunate and were able to get in despite it being Halloweekend. There weren't too many people there, mostly scattered couples and dogs. The paths are a bit confusing and highly looping. World's End almost became a residential subdivision once upon a time, and Frederick Olmsted was hired to design it. There are stately carriage paths and trees planted for this subdivision, but the project was called off. I found this to provide a mysterious ambiance to the peninsula, as it seemed somewhat halfway between a residential subdivision (easy to imagine some little suburban houses sprouting among the trees) and a wilderness area. There are conveniently placed maps at most of the junctions which can aid the lost traveller. I would give World's End 2 or 3 hours to fully explore. It's about 200 acres, with many benches and good viewpoints. You can see lovely views of the Harbor islands and Boston skyline from the peninsula. I especially liked the Bar, a region of the peninsula where it narrows, before reading "World's End" proper. I found this to be a lovely place and definitely enlivened my curiosity. The mystery and beauty of this park is captivating!

Be careful when putting the address into your navigation, especially Waze users, as it took us to the totally wrong location at first. Once you arrive, however, parking is pretty straightforward. It costs $10/car. The staff at the hut where you pay for parking was super helpful in letting us know what route would best suit our time constraints. We were even given a map! The trails were pretty clear, some maybe weren't as clearly defined as they could've been. Note for hikers: this does feel like more a stroll in the park as opposed to a true hike. Some hidden paths did feel like one, however, so don't be afraid to venture off what seems to be the most defined routes. We loved the views of the Boston skyline, harbour, and Hull, MA. This place is definitely worth a visit. I'm looking forward to coming back in autumn to see some good foliage!

From the green 'grass' to the swings to the greenery and the lighting and the huge stage with an awesome sound system - really great! We went here for live band karaoke with our favorite band called Five Minutes of Fame - they're playing every Thursday night from 7-10 pm. So if you're into singing with a live band go on over and live out your rockstar dreams! They had the food truck called The Grove which I think has a very limiting menu - in terms of healthy and tasty - which is my requirement. I got the grove salad with chicken and it was just ok - nothing to write home about. The hubs had the BLT sandwich which he liked but also found it quite greasy. There are restrooms which are these portable ones in these trailers and they're very nice and clean but the individual ones on the opposite end of the stage was very smelly. The ones behind the stage were better. Running water, flush everything- like a proper restroom. So that is good. We got parking through SpotHero at a nearby parking lot - it was $26 but we didn't want to take chance looking around for parking that is why. But our friends said they found street parking so it's possible to find free parking too. Overall we had a great time, the weather was perfect beautiful summer evening - and great music! We'll be back for more live band karaoke!
