Literally the coolest park I've been to. Whoever designed this really knows kids. This is NO half done park. Things are thoughtfully curated like the slides, swings, pirate ship, soft ground, music play and splash pads. It's a nice oasis from the heat with all the shade and well maintained. read more

A unique modern playground right near the Children's Museum in Seaport! This park was designed in honor of the youngest victim of the Boston Marathon bombing. This is not your typical playground. There are multiple sections of the park, which make it great for exploring. You turn a corner and cross a bridge and you're in a new space with new features! In the lower section, there is a water garden with misting fountains turned on during the warmer months. There are plenty of benches for taking a rest or snack time among the well-maintained greenery. I'd say for kiddos under 2, maybe even 3, playing on the pirate ship and near the slides definitely needs close adult supervision. The plank up the hill to the ship is quite steep, as are the two slides on the other side of the park. Definitely worth the trek into Seaport with your little ones! read more

Martin's Park is an AOK park that's situated on the Boston waterfront; it's part of the greenspace which is right in front of the Boston's Children Museum. There's lots of space here for various kinds of recreation; they've also got tables if you're inclined to have a picnic. When you come here, you'll be rewarded with some fairly nice views of the city. If you're in the Waterfront area and looking for a place for your little ones to burn off some energy, I suggest checking out Martin's park. There's quite a bit to do here for children of all ages. The pirate ship was entertaining, but the big hits for C&N were the large circular swing and two slides, which are nicely shaded and had different ways of going back up (stairs or climb up- one path has rock climbing support to help you up). There's also two climbing structures (one made of wooden logs, the other your typical large web climber) and a small water play area. There's a good amount of seating for parents and shaded areas as well. I like how most of the playground is surrounded by a soft foam. I wish there was a restroom there, though I could have missed it. read more

PLAYGROUND OF THE FUTURE! It's like Melissa and Doug designed a kiddie haven. Recycled rubber flooring follows the natural incline of a hillside, providing gently slopes climbing walls to two slides, both super slick and non-conductive, meaning no tush or leg burns on hot summer days. (What was up with my rusty ass, scorching hot slides as a kid?! Death traps.) Natural, soft wood and vinyl rope structures, along with a swing are tucked away from the main landing, and there's free sunscreen dispensed at the gated entrance. But wait! There's a giant pirate ship. Maybe I buried the lede here but it's a friggin frigate y'all. Bring your kid - easy to kill an hour. read more

Awesome GATED pirate ship themed water fountain park Water filling station available. Two rock climbing great for toddlers. Whole park features benches and plenty of areas for shade and hiding nooks. Percussion instruments are all over the park paths. The pirate ship features a flag pole you can raise up and down. Wind vane. Colored windows and steering the ship. The ground is foam core. Suggest bringing a towel your child is sure to get WET after all that climbing. They would definitely want to cool off. Although there is a nice breeze that comes around. read more

This park is an absolute blast! The most obvious part of the park is that it looks like a ship sailing on the water, all of the water is spongy material with lots of climbing grips. Inside the boat is fine with knobs, windows and things kids want to touch. There is also a nice spray deck area for cooling off or getting soaked. Once we finally convinced the girls to leave the ship area, we wanted to walk across the foot bridge hoping it would lead us to the children's museum and instead we were delighted to find another area of the park, with equally amazing playground structures and we had fun finding the scavenger hunt animal statues. Next time we're in the area, we will definitely go back and spend more time here having fun. read more

This place is truly incredible. Lots of adventure, lots of space, just the right amount of danger and lots of fun. The ground is mostly padded with recycled plastic for safety, but there is also plenty of bouldering, climbing, and imagining to be done here. I loved how open the space was. There was lots of visibility in each section so you could pretty much see your kids from several angles, provided they stayed within either the left or right section. There are a lot of comments about worrying about access in and out, but there seemed like there was only one true entranceway, a large path that passed under an overpass walking bridge and opened up to two exits to the sidewalk. We visited during the winter, but it looks as if there is a sprinkler section, with the sprinklers set into big rocks. So cool! Seems like it might be a tad slippy, but I've yet to see a splash pad that wasn't, honestly, so I guess technology hasn't caught up to that one yet in general. My only sadness about this place is there seems not to be a restroom facility, though I didn't go snooping around so maybe I missed it. It's not like there aren't a thousand businesses and things in the area that are open, but with little kids it's always nice to have something handy right nearby. All in all, a great imaginative play space, and basically a free alternative to the chaos that is the Children's Museum next door, ha. Will bring the kids again: Everyone from my four year old to my eleven year old had a great time burning off some energy here. read more

I can't think of a better place to spend a few hours with a four-year old. She ran us (and herself) ragged clambering up the impressive hill and down the slides before taking a break on the rope swing. read more

This newly opened children's playground has been dedicated to Martin W. Richard, the youngest victim of the Boston Marathon Bombing. It includes a splash pad that is open during the warm months, a large wooden boat reminiscent of the Eleanor (the Boston tea party ship located across the river), and numerous slides and stone staircases. The convenient location near the Boston Children's Museum makes this a welcome addition to the city's network of playgrounds and public parks. This awesome park dedicated to Martin Richard is awesome! Love climbing the rope structure and going up the recycled padding slope. The open slide was so cool and so was the enclosed one! I checked out everything! There was also a log climbing course and a cool group swing. Across from this area, there is a pirate ship, some "nature" trails, and a great splash pad, although I didn't get to try it out (Will have to go back in summer). So cool, although not for toddlers, but great for older kids. One of my favorite playgrounds! read more

We came across this park by accident as we walked toward our hotel. Our kids (1 and 3) were blown away. They loved the pirate ship, the slides and the various levels in play area. We had a hard time prying them away. We didn't get a chance to use the splash pad, but it looked like a perfect way to cool off on a hot day. read more

This is a beautiful park and my girls loved it. The slides and the pirate ship were a big hit. That said, I felt like there were places my 2 1/2 year old could have gotten hurt, there were many sharp rock edges throughout the park. It also needs to be fully fenced in because there is traffic close by. A parent can easily lose sight of their kid with the multilevel park layout. read more

I am writing this review for parents of intrepid toddlers - this playground is great for school age and older children, but we found it unsafe for our little one. Very steep and tall climbing walls are everywhere (and sometimes the only direct way to get from attraction A to B) and our youngest took a bad fall after dropping off the top of one. He also skidded and fell while running on the splash pad's slick stone floor, which is enclosed by solid rock boulders which he thankfully missed. There are multiple un-gated openings in the fence separating the playground from city traffic, and we had a dedicated adult for him at each of the high/low levels because he could quickly get to either level and race out. A single caregiver bringing multiple children would find it hard to have eyes on all of them, given the layout. By contrast our oldest child who can follow safety guidelines had an amazing time, and loved all the parts of this beautiful playground including the ice cream truck and bunnies hopping around, hence the 4 star review read more
