I been there for buy one yard of crush stone 3/4 and one yard of washed sand. The truck carry both inside of dump but separate by a separator in the middle of the truck bed, amazing !!!! They promise to deliver next day and there they are !!!!! Second year in a row that I made a specific time for drop off and second year in a row that they were late by an hour or more. I have two small children that I had to arrange for childcare and pay someone to sit here and wait. What is the purpose of setting up a drop off time if it isn't dropped off ON TIME! read more

Last year I ordered 4 yards of soil. Delivery was prompt and person on the phone was friendly. The soil visually looks great, all black. I used the soil for half my yard and seeded with Jonathan Green black beauty seeds. A year later, I see a lot of gravel where I used the soil. When I used a lawn sweeper this spring, I can hear all the gravel. There is no gravel on the other half of the lawn where I did not use the soil from Boston bark! I have two yards that I did not use and it is lying in pile. Once the soil surface is dry you can see all the gravel. As another reviewer mentioned, the soil becomes hard clay once dry. I expected a high quality product but as a retail customer using this soil for top dressing, I am disappointed. read more

2nd time I am ordering and this time I have discovered these guys the new "split body" trucks, where they can deliver two types of material in one load, which means you are only paying one (very reasonable, BTW) fee. I always shop around, but again, they won out because they don't play with delivery fees. read more

I had half a cord of wood delivered to my home. Pro: they were on time. Cons: the wood is not at all seasoned and covered in dirt. It just sizzles and spits water and lets off a ton of smoke. It is also unevenly cut and the delivery includes many crap pieces and debris, not to mention a fair bit of trash. Bottom line: DO NOT BUY FIREWOOD FROM THESE PEOPLE. read more

I have ordered from Boston Bark many times but this last delivery of super soil, which is supposed to be 50% topsoil and 50% mulch, is just crap. A lot of debris but mostly stones. I had the best intention of using the best product to top dress my lawn, but instead I seem to have ruined it.. I have left a message And shared photos of what I received but have yet to get follow up. I hope to report a happy resolution.In the meantime I suggest people to look elsewhere for a good quality topsoil and mulch. read more

Boston Bark has always given me great service, on-time delivery, and reasonable prices. On two occasions I've had problems with product quality, however. Last year I ordered 5 yards of 'Super Soil', advertised as an optimum blend of loam and composted leaves. The product I received had only a small amount of composted leaves, and the soil was awful. Very high clay and gravel content, chock full of weed seeds. The places in my yard where I deposited this 'Super Soil' developed a hardened clay crust and continue to sprout weeds more than a year later. This spring, I ordered 5 yards of their Screened Compost product, which is advertised on the Boston Bark website to be composed of leaf compost. What was delivered was finely ground bark mulch, which had too high of an uncomposted wood content for me to use as planned as a planting medium for seedling beds. read more

I have been going to Boston Bark for many years to get my mulch and sand. They are always very helpful and professional. I tell the driver where to place the delivery and he does...perfect! Tip: Don't wait until Mother's Day to order your mulch, call in early so you have the mulch ready to go when you are. read more

Highest quality products on the market. Excellent phone service-exact details about products including prices. Website extremely educational and informative. Their physical location is user friendly with staff available inside and outside. Loaded products into my car. Placed an order late afternoon and delivery was available the following morning. Delivery person called and texted before arriving. Materials were distributed in exactly where I needed it to make it easy to move it around the yard. FIREWOOD: Very satisfied with the quality of their firewood, a timely delivery and accurate measure. After I stacked the firewood and carefully measured it, the volume was almost exactly what I paid for--perhaps even a little over. I know that some firewood companies do not provide a full 1/2 cord when it stacked is measured, so I was pleased. I recommend them highly. read more
