So, I checked-our a few places( one place had NO CLUE ABOUT WHAT THEY WERE SELLING ), before I contacted Tri-Town. I spoke with a Guy, who would be considered " Your Average, Blue Collar Joe "; a Good Dude. He was quite knowledgeable, as he educated me in " Mulch 101 ". Anyway, I went to The Location, checked-out The Black Mulch, received some more Education( Gentleman answered all my questions ), and made the purchase( 2 Yds of Beautiful, Black Mulch ). I received The Black Mulch as promised, on time( The Driver was actually about 20 Minutes early, which was cool ). Anyway, I distributed The Black Mulch in The desired locations, and it looks FABULOUS! So, I want to thank Tri-Town Landscaping Materials, for all their Efforts, during my Buying Process! I strongly recommend ANYONE in need of Black Mulch( any Mulch, for that matter ), to shop around, then go to Tri-Town Landscaping Materials; YOU WON'T REGRET IT!

It still looks great today, which reminded me to do this review, I'm so happy with the result and the experience with all the Lombardo staff. I wanted to match some stones they didn't have but Lombardo found them for me without any delay. In total I needed three deliveries and the first was made by the owner himself to check out what I was doing and assess the rest of the deliveries. The location is difficult with phone and power lines traversing from the street to my house directly above where I needed the next 16 ton delivery. Lombardo made it happen. The experience could not have been better from the first phone call with Emily to the final delivery. Emily was a pleasure to work with and made the entire experience stress free including coordinating deliveries exactly as I wanted them while keeping in touch along the way. The drivers were professional, friendly and well experienced, having no difficulty navigating the challenging area with ease and dropping everything exactly where I wanted it. It was all just perfect.

They were helpful and speedy in terms of delivery. However, I am really not happy with the pricing. I felt like I had a clear understanding after two phone calls of the expected cost, so when I was charged almost DOUBLE that, I cannot say I was very pleased. I understand being under the minimum and expected fees, but not double. It's really unfortunate, but I probably would not use them again. Would I recommend? Maybe, but unless you're ordering 12 tons, it might make sense to go elsewhere for smaller residential needs.

I'll still come here, but not for everything. Sigh. They have a good selection of shrubs and trees, too. They also sell some nice garden knick-knacks. The staff is helpful, and you can find someone who can answer questions for you. Karen, the manager, is a sweetheart. It's a whole different experience, here. We have been loyal customers of Nelson Landscape Company since purchasing our home in 2020. Every…read moreyear we've ordered mulch from them because they've always been reliable, provided excellent customer service, and delivered quickly and seamlessly. Until this year, we had nothing but positive things to say. Unfortunately, our most recent experience was completely unacceptable and has left us extremely disappointed. When we called to order mulch, we were told the credit card machine was down, so we couldn't pay over the phone. We were informed that paying the driver upon delivery was an option. We were also told the mulch would be delivered the following afternoon and that the driver would call before arriving. I stayed home all day waiting for the delivery. At 4:20 p.m., I had to leave briefly to pick up my child from daycare for a 4:30 pickup. Shortly after, I received a call from Nelson Landscape stating the mulch had already been delivered. The employee who called was rude, disrespectful, and immediately demanded payment. They insisted I had been told delivery would occur between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m., which was never communicated to me. Had I been given that information, I would have made other arrangements. When I asked if I could provide my credit card over the phone, I was told no one was in the office to take payment. I then asked if I could simply call back the next day to pay by credit card. Instead of receiving a reasonable response, the employee said, "Whatever, I don't have time to deal with this," and hung up on me. After years of being a consistent, reliable customer, this level of customer service was shocking. The interaction was disrespectful, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. We understand that mistakes and miscommunications happen, but there is never an excuse for treating loyal customers this way. Given the way I was spoken to and the complete lack of professionalism shown during this interaction, we can no longer support this company. It's incredibly disappointing that after years of loyalty, one employee's disrespectful behavior has completely changed our opinion of a business we once trusted and happily recommended.
