So when we walked in the bartender greeted us and when we told her it's our first time in there she was very welcoming to explain a couple of things to us. She even walked us to our table. I asked for a sample of a dark beer and he handed me a full pint glass, then used the same glass for the actual pour. A little odd, a little funny, but somehow it fits the vibe here. It's not corporate, not scripted just a real local bar doing things their own way. The energy easy, and the beer solid. If you're looking for a polished taproom, this isn't it. But if you want a laid back spot with character and no pretense, Mack House has its own charm.

I've been here quite a few times, it's one of my closest local drinking establishments. Drinks are cheap, the people are loud, and they are there to do some drinking and smoking (or vaping weed lol). It's loud because of all the games on the one side, and is also livelier on weekends. The other side is more chill, has a lot of TVs and it's great for watching sporting events, especially Panthers hockey is big here (I got to watch 4 Nations hockey tourney which was on every TV, so that was a score). There are electronic darts on this side as well. People here are down to earth and I've met some cool people here over the years. I should get here more often, but I'm at the age where I don't park myself in smokey bars as much as my younger days. There's no food, only games and drinking. I park myself at the bar, start chatting with a neighbor, grab a few Jack Daniels on the rocks, and order the minimum 10 wings. Drinks come out fast - that's why I got a few. I was late in the 3rd before the wings appear. Big, juice, and the sauces were good. Best would be the Hot Honey Garlic and the Hot Honey BBQ. Neither really that hot but plenty of flavor.
