One of the few places that retains the former spirit of the off-campus streetscape, Bossy Grrl's slender space in the Hudson, High radius fills the niche of novelty nicely. Dressed as a Victorian brothel--the bay windows flanking the door are shrouded by white lacy curtains-- the hangout acts as a coffeehouse and gamer room as well as a bar. It seems to be everything but an actual brothel. Cabaret-ish ( they don't serve food), burlesque ( of which have parties periodically) is the feel here. Combined with the vintage interior of the old North Columbus buildings and the place has a offbeat charm. The space features uneven exposed bricks alternating randomly in different shades of red, faux chandeliers with bra after bra--red, black, cotton white-- intermixed with Mardi Gras beads hanging from them. Add the poster-art adorned with classic woman of the night in red lusty lace, garters, fishnet stockings, and underwire cups and you have a sexy possitive atmosphere that I really enjoy. In there is also a stage where they have open mike nights. And a back room with a long wall sofa, some cool lamps, and a darker, punkish feel. I came on a Sunday and it was a lazy, toned down afternoon. There was just a gaggle of regulars playong vintage computer games. The bartender ( owner) was very open and talkative and served me well even though he was in the games with the regs. They had several cool crafts on tap. Their cafe mocha was decent. I think this is more a bar than a coffeehouse ttytt. Though the mocha wasn't bad at all. I'll certainly return for open mic or other creative deal.

I like what Bossy Grrl's is trying. It's an interesting concept, a combination of a bar and coffeehouse. There's also lots of entertainment, from burlesque to karaoke to poetry. It's bar is great but it's kitchen service needs a lot of improvement. They have the potential to be great but there can be some bad service especially when busy. I would say come for one of the shows, because it's a lot better time. It's burlesque shows are Mondays. There's also other fun events like comedy and open mic. It has Straub drafts for $1 at happy hour. The cocktails are what they do the best, but I also like the food menu. It's better than regular bar food. There's a lot of funky choices, if they're not out of certain items, which they usually will be. It's vegan friendly with a few good choices. I had a black bean burger, and it was pretty good. The Elvis Impersonator sandwich comes with fake bacon strips and peanut butter. I would come in here earlier if you want food. The kitchen service is slow, even when it's not busy. I overall like this and will return. The food is good when they have it together, but eat when it's not busy. You will have a good time at the shows whether it's burlesque or whatever.

Wow - I had a blast at this bar! The bartender was friendly, fast and really had the hustle down. My girlfriends and I decided to dress up in pin-up attire and had happy hour prices all night. We drank $1 glasses of Draft beers. AWESOME! The 2 owners are the ying and yang. Amber is friendly, super sweet. Sandy is wild and flirty. Perfect. I will be back as often as possible :)

Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon and had a nice time. The bartender was friendly and welcoming to us first-timers. She told us a little bit of the history of the bar and couldn't believe it had been here for five years. She suggested a raspberry mojito and boy can she make a great mojito. So good I ended up having two more. They have different events throughout the week. It has a really vintage, cool vibe and I can see how it can become a regular hangout for someone.

Bossy's girls is an awesome Old North stable. It is the only bar where burlesque is consistently performed in Columbus and is a very safe place for openly queer folks. It's a fun tiny retro bar filled with great entertainment and great people. From drag to karaoke to burlesque there's always some thing great going on here! I can't recommend it enough!!!

If they had steak, it would be great. IPA' S are tasty and they have a very unintimidating karaoke. Cheers-

We popped in for an after-party drink (pr several) and a bite and were pleasantly treated to those and more. The bartender (and manager along side) was quick to greet, take orders, and serve and was also good to chat for a bit. They'll make you anything you want and all the drinks were tasty. The menu looked enticing and I can never resist wings washed down with draft beer - both really hit the spot. A friend decided upon one (of several) of their jambalaya and WOW was it delicious! In fact, I would to return just for it! The vibe, which was chill, was also perfect and we left, after a few hours, all agreeing that Kelley's is a fantastic spot. Set aside any hesitation and spot the search, Kelley's is where you're going tonight!

My friend was obviously shaken up and when we asked the owner about it. We were met with aggressiveness and a lack of empathy regarding the matter. There was no genuine apology offered when the situation was witnessed. And when we asked to speak with her she approached us with irritation. And let us know she's not sure what else she wants us to do because she already comped her drinks. When I proceeded to ask if she was okay with said behavior from this man, she aggressively responded and continued to show a lack patience or empathy. She was very aware of the matter because her bartender requested for something to be comped, but failed to acknowledge the concern as a business owner directly to her customers. As if we didn't experience something personally violating and traumatic, while she was only a few feet away. And also was seen engaging with said man; prior to allegedly requesting them to leave. I'm deeply disappointed in my experience and I would not recommend any business here.

While it may be right off 5th avenue, it doesn't necessarily stand out. However, a few friends of mine pointed it out to me and insisted that we go for karaoke night. I thought sure, why not? When I walked in I was surprised at how spacious it was. I was even more surprised by how many people were packed in there. This place was poppin! I got a cider at the bar, which was on par with how much I normally pay for it, and I took a front row seat so I could watch my friends take the stage. The folks organizing the karaoke were obviously professionals. It all went very smoothly. Bravo! While I was there for roughly two hours, I never really made contact with the staff except when I got my one drink. Therefore, I can't really speak to how they are customer service wise. I can say that the restrooms were literally falling a part. This is somewhat expected in a dive bar but there was line for the ladies room because only 1 of the doors would close to the stalls inside. This is the every day pain of a woman going to a bar and needing to pee. Sigh* Anyways, I wouldn't be surprised if I end up here again in the future. However, I can't say that I'll be rushing to get there. I did love how diverse the crowd was though. It was really fun seeing which songs people would sing.
