First off, the gratuity / tip is very hidden when you order on the site. They purposely suggest a tip beginning at 18% during check out and BEFORE you can see that they already have a fixed gratuity. So most of us double tipped. I'd be less annoyed if the service wasn't horrendous. The waitresses (food runners) all seemed to have an attitude. They won't make eye contact or speak unless you address them specifically. They didn't even hand the food over; they make you grab it off their trays. Asking for anything like napkins, extra plates, sauces, silverware is a nuisance to them, yet you've just DOUBLE TIPPED for this terrible service. Then you look at the booths and all the people behind them are texting. Maybe more attention to cooking and less on their phones would help. The food was basically all bad, which is really sad. I've had some really great experiences here in the past when it was SHOMA, but I definitely won't be back.

There were very few tables occupied and only one person at the bar. My usual spot was available, so I sat at the bar without hesitation. Greta welcomed me and handed me a menu. I noticed they have a new menu with a very nice design. As usual, they also offer daily specials. To my disappointment, when I tried to order one of the specials the Branzino Mediterraneo & Risotto Greta told me it had already run out. I ended up ordering the Steamed Mussels instead. For my drink, I was undecided between wine or beer, and she recommended the Inedit Damm. The beer was very good you could clearly taste many of the ingredients. The mussels arrived with bread and butter, plus some tasty house made potato chips on the side. The texture and overall flavor were phenomenal you could see and taste the pieces of pancetta and the thin slices of garlic. I ended up using a spoon to enjoy every bit of the broth and ingredients. I also noticed that both the bar and tables have purse hooks, which is a very practical and thoughtful detail. I finished with a glass of white wine and headed home until next time.

She was very courteous and asked if we were here for a specific occasion. I told her it was my mother's birthday and we were there celebrating. We ordered drinks and the steak bites, which were sitting in a gravy like sauce which was amazing. The steak by itself was also well seasoned and delicious. I had an apple martini which was excellent as well and comes with a maraschino cherry. My mother had a margarita which she also quite liked. She and my fiancée ordered the skirt steak and I ordered the chicken francese. The steak was very good, perfectly seasoned, perfect temperature, and juicy. Despite ordering it well done, my mother's steak wasn't chewy or burnt. My fiancée had the same skirt steak medium well which I believe to be the sweet spot. The fries are excellent and well seasoned too. At the end, we ordered a très leches dessert and the waitress asked the band to play a jazz version of happy birthday, which we did not ask her to do but it was such a kind gesture and a very tasteful touch! The très leches was to die for! And to double down, they brought out complimentary raspberry tea to finish us off.
