Found this little gem looking for something to eat after we left Jersey Gardens. Literally five minutes away. It's a small little place with probably about 10 tables for a party of two. They have outdoor seating but obviously it is on the chilly side but they do a lot of to go orders . I'm not sure if the gentleman that greeted us was the owner but he was super friendly and very helpful. All the staff were great . They have a fairly decent menu with a lot of yummy selections. The clam chowder is a must try so good !! We tried the Bossa Combo with fried shrimp and fried flounder with fries OMG that tartar sauce is delicious. The fried flounder was just as delicious served on a brioche bun and served with fries . They have a selection of wines if you need a little bubbly to go with your meal . So many good things on the menu so I will definitely be back to try them out. So if you are in the area call in for a take out order or take a chance they may have a table available. read more

Great shrimp size and portions. The buffalo sauce has a great kick to it. The clams in a white wine sauce is excellent. I can literally drink the white wine sauce. Salad and veggies were clean, so pairs well with the food. Really tasty clam chowder with perfect clam to potato ratio. SO much better then that thick white cream garbage you think you're getting. Real stuff. I could keep going with the food, but just order stuff... My 2yo devoured EVERYTHING! And she knows good food! ;) The owner seems like some really down to earth guy and knows what he's doing. We came in on an early Sunday afternoon. We saw the five star review on multiple sites and thought we should definitely check it out. Bossa Fish did not disappoint. There's no false hype about this place- this place delivered on all levels. We were greeted warmly by the young lady at the ordering register. She was so sweet & patient as she took our long order since we were a family group and it was our first time there. We often order multiple apps & staples when visiting a restaurant for the first time, so we got a little bit of everything. Their calamari was fresh, crisp and well seasoned, their fried shrimp was snappy and tasty. Their fish Francese was delicious. Everything was served hot, which was very nice. Their fried plantains were perfectly fried & plump, a refreshing sight since so many places often serve them too oily or mis-shapen. The owner or manager was a lovely host and made sure we always had everything we needed. We enjoyed our meal outside in their patio seating area surrounded by beautiful plants, colorful umbrellas and a great playlist. The cold beer, delicious fish dishes and fantastic vibes were the perfect fall afternoon for our family. I'm so happy we stopped here during our trip through NJ. The owner helped us with our order and allowed us to keep a tab open. We found a table near a huge window (great for pix). A super cute fish market and a horrible restaurant with huge portions and fresh seafood! It was cute inside and has a little outdoor seating area too. We got so white wine sangria which was strong and super flavorful. We also got calamari which was crispy and not too salty. I loved the crabcakes and clams in white wine sauce. Service here is so friendly. Our waiter was informative and gave us more insight into the family that owns the restaurant, who are of Brazilian and Portuguese backgrounds. He told us that the menu is a fusion of Brazilian, Spaniard and American cuisine. I also have to mention the restaurant smells so clean! You smell the fish but you can tell by the smell that it is FRESH fish. The flounder in the fish sandwich was so light and flaky. It was topped with the most heavenly slaw between a soft and fluffy bun. The sauce on the bun was so perfect with the sandwich and it really highlighted the flavor of the fish. It came with a side of kettle cooked crinkle cut chips. The shrimp in garlic sauce had me so impressed. I expected an overpowering garlic flavor, which wouldn't be a bad thing for me. BUT the shrimp felt like a warm buttery hug with a subtle garlicky taste. You can see actual slices of garlic in the sauce- not that garlic powder flavor! Now for that grilled calamari. It was a generous portion of charred calamari cooked to perfection. It was so soft and not rubbery at all. The flavors were balanced and subtle and didn't overpower the taste of the fresh calamari. We started off with the salt cod croquettes and a pitcher of delicious home made sangria. As for our entrees we ordered the flounder fish and chips and the Charlie Baltimore crab cake sandwich. Their bossa sauce is creamy and spicy and goes good with anything that you put it on so you already know I had to order extra sauce. The owner was very nice and checked up on us a few times and even offered us a coffee on the way out. It is hurtful to write this review update, but after coming to Bossa for over a year, I see the quality of the food declining and the prices going up. The past couple of times I ordered a whole fish and got an overcooked "not so fresh" small sized fish with rice as an only choice of side and having to pay additional for anything else.
