The armed security staff looks alert at all times, and provides a safe feeling while shopping for valuable items such as high end watches or rings. The staff is very knowledgeable and patient with potential buyers. The space is very large and the staff keep the store very clean, especially the glass doors. The prices seem reasonable but they will not accept trade in on jewelry unless you purchased the item at their store. Overall a good experience here and I most likely would consider returning when purchasing jewelry in the future. read more

The service is almost always fast and convenient, there have only been a few times I've had to wait 5 minutes or so for help. And let's be honest, who wouldn't love complimentary drinks as you make your way around the store looking at all the gorgeous selections! One of my favorite Christmas experiences so far has been my husband and I searching for gifts while sipping on cocktails, then having Josephine take care of what we needed seamlessly from start to finish! I just took my ring I purchased at Borsheims 15 years ago to be cleaned and was told because of the inset of the diamonds they can no longer clean it because they haven't had a qualified jeweler on staff for the last two years to do the repairs if one of the inset stones would come out . What? I know I have had my ring cleaned there in the last 2 years. Absolutely phenomenal experience here. We worked with Barbara Miller from the start - I got my now-wife's engagement ring from Barbara, who helped us find the perfect one. She then helped us find my engagement ring, and then our wedding bands together. All of them are gorgeous and the turnaround was only a few weeks for each of them to get made. It was really nice that we got to customize basically whatever we wanted, from the stone to the elements on the bands and mixing and matching. Barbara was so flexible and understanding, it's really clear she's experienced in working with people to find what they're looking for without pushing anything at all. I felt really comfortable with her throughout the process, and I usually don't feel so at ease with a sales person. It's also really important to me that I felt safe as a member of the LGBTQ+ community. It's unfortunate that this needs to be stated outright, but regardless, Barbara and everyone we encountered at the store treated us just like any other couple. The prices for the rings were all extremely fair, they do trade-ins as well which was fabulous, and the customer service is incredible. I had such a great experience here yesterday. I stopped in just to browse while traveling and found a menorah for my family. It wasn't very expensive, and I was having it shipped to NJ. The saleswoman that helped me (Michelle) made me feel like I was spending a million dollars. She offered to gift wrap and ship the piece for free and even had a brand new one pulled from the back without me even asking for it. I honestly had a better experience spending $100 here than I did buying a new car. I had so much fun in that one little interaction, I can't wait to come back and shop next time I'm in the area. It's a fine "shopping mall" sort of jewelry store, but sadly is a bit of a Podunk small-town place. Here's why.... Having just moved to OMA, I had heard good things about Borsheims, so I brought in a older, mid-tier mechanical watch that had stopped running. My first indication of problems was when their watch shop said that they send mechanical wristwatches off to the factory service centers for re-oiling and repairs. So, they don't actually have a proper horologist / watchmaker on-site. Reluctantly I let them send the watch off, but I has an idea of how this would turn out. Sure enough, a few weeks later, Borsheims lets me know that the factory service center cannot repair the watch because the "parts kit" is no longer available. When I pressed the watch department person for more details, it became apparent that Borsheims simply sells wristwatches, but doesn't actually understand them. If the factory says the parts kit is no longer available, that makes sense and is to be anticipated for an older model. The hands may no longer be available and may need to be fabricated or replaced with a similar looking set. The gaskets, crown, and case tube may have to be sourced apart from the factory parts kit. And even if the entire movement would need to be replaced, that's doable too, since almost all of them are made by the Swiss ETA manufacturer, and there are other drop-in movements from other makers that are quite good. Borsheims "watch experts" could not tell me exactly what was wrong, and admitted that they do not employ a true watchmaker who can repair or replace movements on older mechanical watches. Again, the store is a lovely shopping mall place, but any mechanical wristwatches purchased here should be considered to be a "disposable" purchase. If you want to deal with an ACTUAL watchmaker who knows his trade, you will probably have to travel to a larger town like Kansas City or Chicago. read more

If you don't wear certain designer clothes, drive a certain type of car, or live in a certain ZIP code.....they don't want anything to do with you. Today we traveled from Des Moines to Omaha to shop for an engagement ring. Right off the bat, we were not greeted or even acknowledged as we walked in. Then, we proceeded to look at the engagement selection only to be ignored for no less than ten minutes. I know I'm not unreasonable because I checked my watch. When we finally were approached, the woman asked if she could page someone for us. When I informed her we had literally not heard a single word from the at least 8 people behind the counter at all, she told me they were short staffed. 1. Completely understandable, but I would have been happy with a "welcome, it'll be just a moment." 2. Every where is short staffed, each place we visited in DSM was ready to serve us. 3. We LITERALLY were in front of a case with a jeweler standing there chatting and she didnt even ACKNOWLEDGE us whatsoever. 4. This makes me worry about their customer service after purchase greatly - if I have a problem, will they even stop to talk to me? Probably not. Thank goodness this was not the first place we visited because I would have been completely turned off. 10/10 do not recommend. Now, outside of our customer service experience, the location is NOT boutique in any slight glance of the imagination. It is entirely commercial, pumping out rings that are like a 1970s suburban complexes. You will not find a single unique piece here. Maybe you're fine having ten other women with your exact same setting - I wish you well with your divorce in three years. 10/10 do not recommend. read more

We are often remembered when we enter the shoppe, our pieces of jewelry are inspected and cleaned at no cost the same day and recommendations are made regarding any loose prongs or stones if they are identified - as was the case on our latest visit. I'm guessing the commission is the reason. The store is huge. Ginormous. They have separate sections...Tiffany and Co., Cartier, Bulgari, etc. If you're shopping for a diamond, it's not the cheapest place to go but fairly reasonable. You can actually get a better deal in L.A. but I'm sure the customer service along with a satisfaction guarantee is much better at Borsheim's than a place in the Jewelry District in downtown L.A. read more

Of course Borsheims has all kinds of fantastic things in the retail section of the store, where everyone is helpful and wanting to sell you something... but this review is specifically targeting the watch repair department. I took a watch in for a battery replacement, and the experience spiralled into a strange saga that's soured my desire to have any watch maintenance performed here. This particular watch had been in my ownership for 6+ years without any issues. Been through a couple battery replacements before at mall kiosk-type stores in the past. Issues started shortly after I got it back from the store. First up, condensation inside the watch face. I took it back to Borsheims and was told that there was rust on the movement, that I needed a new crown (determined to be the water point of entry) and I was also accused by the watchmaker - indirectly - of submerging the watch in a pool or a bath. Even after I explained that I'd had no issues with this watch until they opened it up to change a battery, I had to undergo a back and forth with the manager of the department several times via phone to explain myself before I finally made a comment akin to, "I would have hoped Borsheims - a store that obviously prides itself on customer service - could have taken care of this issue for me." The facts boil down to... they opened up my watch, and compromised the integrity of the case somehow. I don't know how, as I'm not a watchmaker. So they agree to fix it and not charge me for the repairs. The parts are ordered, the watch is repaired and several weeks later, I received a call telling me it was finally ready. When I arrive to pick it up, I'm told the watch was not keeping time correctly, the movement ordered was defective, and they needed to order another to replace it. Two more weeks pass and I call to check in. Apparently the watch is ready... though no-one called to tell me about it. I return, pick up the watch, it seems to work fine and I'm wearing it now even. But the fact that I felt compelled to write this whole boring story down means that I'm overall not what I'd call pleased with the whole thing. We'll have to see if I end up visiting that little window again in the future. read more

Borsheims, a staple jewelry place in the city of Omaha. Known for expensive, gorgeous jewelry. I purchased my ring, and my wife's engagement and wedding ring at Borsheims. The company that I work for has a really good relationship with them, which is one of the reasons that I started my search here. The thing that turned me onto B is that you can completely customize a ring. I chose a loose diamond and band for her engagement ring, which was great. Obviously, you have to shop around. I went to a couple other local jewelry stores around and Borsheims was actually the cheapest, which was a tad surprising honestly. The service you get here is absolutely fantastic and top notch. SO accommodating to your wants and needs. Also, you can take whatever ring/small jewelry you want to the service department and they will clean them and check the rocks at no cost! Overall, this place is great. Even though I'm hoping that I never have to go shopping again for an engagement ring, if I do find myself in that situation, I'm going back to Borsheims! read more

I have been to Borsheim's twice and both times I have been there during the Bershire Hathaway days, so I'm not sure if the customer service is different then or not, as I have seen some reviews saying their customer service is not up to par. I will say, though, that during the most hectic of days though, Borsheim's sales people were extremely friendly, well at least most of them, and didn't really have a problem getting help when I needed it. The only problem I really had was when I wanted to see something from the estate jewelry and the lady who was manning that counter didn't give me the time of day. With that being said, other than that one remote incident, I loved my experience at Borsheims. They have a large selection of jewelry, so if you don't know what you're looking for, it may take a while to find just the right thing. They also sell many different types of gift items too! That area I think is the most fun area in the whole store. I think the only time I will shop here again is during the Berkshire days. I'm a little afraid that customer service isn't the same other than that and if I need something in a pinch, I may not get any help! read more

I recently visited Borsheims to get my ring cleaned, inspected, and to have a stone replaced. Turns out it needed some work. I waited for a long time in customer service to be helped back in July and I am an out of town customer, so ensuring the shipping logistics were correct was very important. While the service was really nice, they were very understaffed which is not fair to the people manning the area. Borsheims did a pretty good job on my ring. The missing stone was replaced, but I don't think it was with as high of quality stone as the one I lost which is a shame. read more

My fiancé bought our engagement ring from Borsheims, he had it custom made and I absolutely LOVE the ring, it is exactly what I wanted and more! A stunning pear-shaped ruby with a halo of diamonds. He told me about the experience - apparently he looked around and got quotes at other stores but Borsheims was the only one that would make this specific design in my size. Borsheims is, in my opinion the top place in Omaha for fine jewelry. Both my engagement ring and wedding band came from here and I have enjoyed miscellaneous shopping trips with my dad over the years to pick up gifts for my mom. They have jewelry available at many price points and a semi private room towards the back equipped with security for the exceptionally priced items. They also have some great gift items in the form of art, fine china and more. They offer free jewelry cleaning which I have taken advantage of several times over the years. I recently noticed the center stone of my engagement ring was loose and they were able to repair for $60. My only concern was that when I dropped off, I was given a ticket for pick up with a specified date. Upon pick up I was not asked to provide ID- I was simply asked 'you're Christine, right?' Not exactly reassuring. They also provide appraisals for $75. read more

I've only been in the store a couple times before and it is impressive. There is a huge selection and lots of staff to provide personal assistance. I'm not much of a jewelry connoisseur so I find it almost a bit intimidating and personally prefer smaller shops. They offer a lot more than jewelry though in the form of watches, glassware, home accessories, etc. I was able to pick up my gift easily and as always it was beautifully wrapped in their trademark silver wrap and maroon ribbon and came in a custom bag. Can't tell you what it is, because it might not be a surprise lol Needless to say, it was beautifully gift wrapped, lovingly bagged, and patiently waiting for me when I finished the rest of my Regency shopping (love the Loft sales, especially Tuesdays if you have a Loft card 20% more off). Can't not go in Francesca's either. I would give Borsheim's 5 stars if the doors were automatic. Hell, the big box stores and grocery stores have them, why not here, especially when you are hefting out some rather cumbersome pricey merchandise by your lonesome through two sets of heavy doors. Borsheims is where my husband bought my engagement ring and where we later got our wedding band! The experience started at a 5 with the buying process! My husband (then boyfriend ;) went in with his sisters and had an amazing experience! He proposed, and I absolutely loved the ring he found there from A. Jaffe from moment one. However, the entire process was full of peaks and valleys. The first valley was the re-sizing process. We live out of state and had to send our ring into Borsheims to be sized. It took WAY too long to receive a response. 2 weeks later we find out "the ring would need to be shipped to the ring designer to get resized due to my finger size". The cost was going to be outrageous and I would have been without a ring for over 2 months and we had engagement photos scheduled so we opted out. They sent back my ring back in a plastic baggie, without the sizer or Borsheims box we sent it in. SOOOO disappointed. When we were in Omaha next, we asked to speak with the manager, Scott, who is the sole reason our experience turned around. We spoke with him only to find out that they COULD resize the ring in store. Are you kidding me? 6 weeks without my ring for no reason? Anyway, we got the ring back and it fit and was gorgeous! (peak) Then came the second valley, the wedding band. We could not find a band that matched the character of the ring so we opted for a custom designed band. We were promised a sketch & updates. We dropped off the ring in person, and after a couple of weeks I got worried, tried to reach out to our new contact, Rachel, only to find out that my ring had been sent to a Borsheims vendor, which is absolutely fine, but we were not aware. The vendor "could not have contact with us" so we had to do the whole middle-man routine throughout the process which was more time-consuming than it should have been. We did not receive a sketch of what it would look like complete prior to authorizing the design, and the price was also more than we were told originally. However, the final product was perfect. (peak) Our diamond-buying process with Rachel was superb. She did a fabulous job comparing diamonds and matching our budget! I would highly recommend working with Rachel! So all in all, would I recommend Borsheims? Yes. But, unfortunately, it seems like you have to push a little to get quality customer service. read more

They Offered a military discount that saved me $300 and I got a great ring. Even without the discount I feel like I got a great deal on the ring I purchased.
