This was a favorite hang-out in my high school years; when my sister and I found ourselves on Long Island we decided to pay a nostalgia visit. While my sister enjoyed a tasty Chicken Bruschetta my Meatball Parmigiana hero was very disappointing. The meatballs were dropped onto an unheated limp (and tasteless) hero bread that should've been toasted to give it not just some texture, but crisped up enough to support the meatballs instead of letting them flop out of the bread and onto the plate. (The meatballs themselves were alright, but nothing to write home - or to Yelp - about.) Our dishes both came with either a side salad or an order of pasta. My sister and I were considering each ordering one so that we could share them both. I asked the waitress if the salads were large enough to share; she said they were actually "tiny" so we both ordered one. As it turned out the salads were far from tiny, and were large enough to have been shared after all; so much for enjoying some pasta along with our dinners. read more

Borrelli's - Isles pre game! - Italian Near Me - East Meadow, New York

I went here with a group of friends and at first we thought we were in luck when the seated us right away, we soon found out that would be the only good thing about eating here. First, their menu was out of date and the appetizer we wanted was no longer served. We then decided to order the stuffed mushrooms and JUMBO baked clams. The mushrooms were bite sized and the stuffing was sludgy. The jumbo baked clams were also bite sized. Not a good first impression. I ordered the Chicken Liver Marsala, I should have known by the look on the waitress's face that this was a bad idea. The plate that was presented to me basically looked like mushrooms covered in blood. The liver was RAW!!! I NEVER send food back, but I really had no choice. My friend ordered the tortellini alfredo, it looked and smelled like it came out of a Kraft food box, and to top it all off my boyfriend had ordered the calamari only to chomp down on a scrap of plastic. The waitress assured us that it was just a shell from the calamari, but since when does a squid have an exoskeleton?! I tried to eat the side of spaghetti that came with my entree of blood, but the noodles were over cooked and the sauce tasted like it came straight from the can. Now that I've gotten the nightmare out of the way, I will say that our waitress was wonderful, very sweet and apologetic about everything. She tried her very best to salvage our dining experience, but it was pretty much a lost cause after the whole plastic thing...the restaurant did give us 2 free desserts a brownie platter and a platter of cream puffs some with cannoli filling and the other was bavarian cream...we could not tell the difference between them, again not impressed at all, but at least they tried to make it up to us. Lesson learned, we are NEVER going back there again, and you would be wise to do the same. read more

I have to be honest, when choosing an Italian restaurant to dine at Borrelli's has never been my go to choice but I have to compliment them for a doing such a nice job taking care of a small gathering my family had here not too long ago. The minestrone soup served first was incredibly delicious and I was so incredibly impressed with it. They also served two salads to start, Ceaser and Antipasto and both were outstanding. The next course was a pasta dish and the choices were penne with a la vodka sauce or penne with meat sauce. I chose the penne a la vodka and the sauce was quite good, although the pasta was a little too al dente for my liking. The next course was the meal and there were quite a few choices. I chose the Veal Marsala and the veal was tender and there were plenty of mushrooms but the marsala sauce was not as flavorful as I had hoped. I did enjoy it very much but I wish that there were some vegetables served with the protein since the pasta was its own course. For dessert they served a small canoli and some delicious spumoni. The service was really great and the server payed attention to every detail and I am incredibly thankful because she made an incredibly difficult day for us much easier for us. I am incredibly thankful for their kindness and consideration and overall great experience. read more

This establishment has been around for many years. It is a great family restaurant. We love their pizzas and salads. The Tuscan Bistro salad is my favorite. Chicken and veal cutlet parmigiana are also good choices. You will be going home with leftovers. read more

My uncle hyped this place up!! We enjoyed a pre-Islanders game meal here this past weekend. I was very impressed with my chicken caesar salad which was delicious! But the real Italian food was kind of disappointing. I had a side of meatballs as well & the sauce was very bland and watery. Sometimes I feel that it's just my sauce preference. I really like thick flavorful cheesy tomato sauce as opposed to watery. But everyone likes different kinds of sauce! I also ordered a side of vodka sauce to try with my meatballs and I did not like that either. The sauces were very sharp & bitter for my liking. My family ordered shrimp parm with linguini (which wasn't great - I was also surprised it wasn't breaded), and bruschetta chicken which was WAY more bruschetta than chicken and a personal pizza. The personal pizza looked delicious! But basically the best dishes were the Caesar salad & the pizza. Maybe this place is better for when you just want pizza? Who knows! But I'm not very interested in trying it again. When you don't like a sauce, there's usually no hope! read more

So, so SO good! Mmm! I went in with my mom looking for a quick slice since Borrelli's advertises as a pizzeria. You can't order pizza by the slice(like we were looking for). We decided to do the small plain and oh my god. It was so so so good! The crust tasted so homemade. I felt like I was at my Italian grandparents's house. It was so good we ended up getting a personal after we finished the small. We even ended up splitting the Italian Cheesecake. Our server Mark, was excellent. He was extremely friendly. He told us about how long Borrelli's has been around(since before the Meadowbrook) and how they lasted through the Coliseum closing down and how they thought that would put them out of business, but thank GOD it didn't! Oh! How have I lived without Borelli's all my life?! We will have to come back several times to try all of the other delicious things on the menu. Ok. Where do I start? I drive for a living and most often have to stop for dinner wherever i can find a decent restaurant. I've known that Borrelli's was here forever and decided to give it a try. That's where I went wrong. I ordered a salad to start which was not bad. Mixed greens, craisins, dried candied walnuts. Actually pretty good. I figured I'd go with chicken parm (how can you mess this up when you have a vowel at the end of your name??) I also ordered the linguini and clam sauce on the side. You know that can of tomato sauce at the supermarket that says "tomato sauce"? Yeah well that's what was on my chicken. Right out of a can. The clams? Nasty. Either frozen or from a can as well. Please, for the love of Mike....do not eat here thinking you'll get a good Italian dinner. Stay home and open up a can of Chef Boyardee. You'll enjoy it more. read more

First of all people are avoiding cash during the virus pandemic and it is an unsafe practice to encourage cash . They are clearly placing profit ahead of safety. Customer service was horrible. The bartender would use her bare hands (with a bandaid on her finger) to make your drinks and touch all the lemons. I found a group of roaches on the to go containers they handed us. The food was not good. I wouldn't recommend! lol read more

Came here for a happy hour during the week and sat at the bar. We had great service - and the price was good too! I think during happy hour beers were between $4-$7. They have a nice selection of specialty cocktails as well and my friend recommends their martinis (which I have yet to try but she swears by). Looking forward to coming here for a full meal - the prices aren't terrible and they have pre fix options as well. Parking is ample and it's a nice spot for dinner and drinks before a show at the coliseum. read more

I had my engagement party here super last minute IT WAS GREAT! I was really upset because the venue that I previously booked, Mio Posto Hicksville, literally decides to closed down a week before my party with no explanation so shady but Frank was extremely accommodating and I felt a relief when he said it wasn't going to be a problem to host our party. Going to Borrelli's is practically a family tradition. Their food is so amazing--I love their house salad, their pastas and pizzas. Everything I've tried here was amazing and reasonably priced. My best friend had a small 50th birthday at your restaurant today. This was the first time I have eaten inside a restaurant since last March. I was nervous but once I saw the setup I was at ease. I can't say enough about the delicious food and staff! It was a wonderful experience and celebration. As a child I would frequent your restaurant with my family, it has probably been about 20 years since I had stepped foot inside. I can not wait to come and eat another meal at Borrelli's in the near future. I will also recommend your restaurant to my friends and family. Thank you for a great meal and service. We were so nervous about eating inside at a restaurant. The staff was amazing was so amazing. Everyone followed Covid guidelines, personal attention. My daughter said it was soooo good. Best Pizza ever!! Our waiter was wonderful and attentive. We decided to go back to eat inside and we weren't disappointed! Our waiter remembered us and thanked us for returning again. We had a wonderful conversation with him about Hofstra University! It feels like sitting at someone's house with the 50's music playing on the tv, a game playing on another. It's a special treat to ourselves and we appreciate Frank Borrelli for all he does to make visits so comforting with the food and atmosphere he has. We'll be back! read more

Had my daughter's communion party here and was more than happy about everything. The service was fantastic and the wait staff was very attentive to all. The staff constantly had smiles on their face. I had a party of about 70 including kids. Guests kept coming up to me saying how everything was so delicious. So much food that people went home with doggie bags. Delicious! We had a spread of dishes - mussels, Cajun shrimp, Moz sticks, veal, chicken cacciatore, fettuccine Alfredo, and some seafood pasta dish I can't remember the name of. The food was prompt, and the wait staff was super polite. The Alfredo sauce is super rich and incredible. The mussels were stellar. The table agreed the sauce in the chicken cacciatore was absolutely the best thing we got. Overall excellent not a mediocre thing on the table. read more

Years ago I went there and I ordered something small ,, Owner saw me with a suitcase and asked what fancy vacation I was going to.. I had never met this man before and he was just being friendly . when I said "to the hospital" where my mom was very sick , he filled up a bag with food , everything you can imagine , pasta , appetizers pizza etc and sent it to my mom he never met.. I've been to this restaurant many times in the past and it was very good. After an event tonight at the coliseum, I decided to come here for dinner. The restaurant was surprisingly empty for a Sunday evening. I had been to this restaurant two years ago and it was always packed. After being seated, we kept waiting and waiting for someone to come over and take our order or acknowledge us. After about 10 minutes, we asked someone to get us a waiter. At that point we were ready to walk out. Once the waiter came over to us, the service did get a little better. However, the food wasn't great and everyone ended up with a stomach ache at the end of the night. I now understand why this restaurant was empty. read more

Not a real review because we didn't stay to eat. Party of five, walk-in, we were told 15-20 minute wait. No problem. After twenty minutes, they seated a party of 6 who entered after we did. Then 4, who entered after we did, then another 6 who entered after we did. All this while there were 5-6 tables that were empty and waiting to be bussed and cleaned. One of our clients catered a pizza party from Borrelli's as a "Thank You" for a recent project we completed. The pies were exceptionally good, as were the Caesar salads. Everyone enjoyed the many varieties of pizza, with toppings that included broccoli & onion, Buffalo chicken, sausage, meatball and pepperoni (all three on the same pie), eggplant, veggie, and of course, cheese. Having grown up in Brooklyn, I have a particular fondness for pizza, as well as high standards for how a good pizza should taste. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the 2 last times we tried to order from grub hub we got a call saying they don't deliver to Westbury (even though they've delivered here twice) we had to contact grub hub and wait for a refund and then order from someplace else which was a pain in the butt and very disappointing. I was unable to set up beforehand but communicated with Courtney(who is extremely organized, professional and gets back to you ASAP) that everything was set up perfectly! From the balloons, to organizing the tables, setting up favors and place cards, and of course the delicious food, our daughters baptism was a hit!
