THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. Very rude for no reason. The most ghetto stores I've encountered. Hardly anything stock just the worst smh

The prices are very fair and they even had some shoes on clearance. Character shoes seemed to range from $40-$80. I received very friendly customer service and I was appreciative of the help and advice. One thing I really liked is that they did not try to rush me or force me to choose quickly. They also did not try to push me into buying the more expensive option. Instead, they offered to put shoes on hold for me so that I could think about it and come back if I needed to since I was in between two styles. Another thing I liked is that they had a wood floor inserted into the room with a ballet barre so that people can properly get the feel of a shoe on a dance floor. They also have a bathroom which is always nice. Overall, I highly recommend this dance store! It is so refreshing to find a good one with friendly employees, fair prices, and a wide selection.

I heard a weird fat shaming comment from a worker there (not towards me personally), but overall the staff has been very friendly and knowledgeable. I have not seen this worker since so maybe they're no longer there. However, I had to remove a star for sizing; more sizes would be nice that fit longer-torso dancers. I also wish they'd stock another brand of tights since I'm not fond of capezio brand, but I'm not sure- maybe this has been updated since I've been.

For some reason, I had a heck of a time trying to find this place but once I walked in, I felt an…read moreoverwhelming sense of nostalgia. A friend has a daughter who is into tap, and shoes by Jason Samuels Smith are sold exclusively through Bloch so I was looking forward to seeing what they had in-store, in addition to some items for myself. Even though I walked into a rather busy shop, I was greeted by a sweet girl right away, and she brought out shoes and some pants I was interested in. There is only one fitting room so there will be a wait if there are more than a few people looking to try on dance/activewear. What fascinated me was watching someone get fitted for pointe shoes, and this took me back so long ago even though I was fitted at a different brand. A cool customer nearby gave me her opinion on the sizing of some pants I was hesitating to try (she teaches over at Alvin Ailey, so I'm taking her word for it) and then she was called over to assist with the fitting. Everyone here seemed to know one another and it made me think of how small the dance world really is. Sadly after trying on the shoes and pants, neither worked but I know I can order the pants online in the size and color I desired. As for the tap shoes, they had the basics (my favorite being the classic black and white oxfords) but the current seasonal color was...yellow. The daughter gave a definite no to those, so my work here was done. Even though I left empty-handed, it was great going down memory lane here at Bloch.

I bought black can-can boots two weeks ago in-store for a show I'm doing. I have used the boots 10…read moretimes in total for the shows and the toe of the shoe is already separating from itself. I'm doing simple movement in the show that doesn't require going over the toe or stretching the shoe in a crazy way, so this should not have happened. Clearly, the shoes are not made at the same quality as they once were. I have several pairs from 8+ years ago, and not one of them was defective like this. I went into the store with my pair this morning, receipt in hand, hoping to get a single replacement boot or some sort of repair. The male manager I met with immediately blamed me for my "misuse" of the shoe, explaining over and over that it was my fault for "wearing the shoe in improperly." As I mentioned, I have several pairs of Laduca heels from years ago that have never worn like this - I know the process for caring for a leather dance shoe and have followed the steps to carefully break them in by wearing them. The manager accused me of breaking the shoe by "going over the toe," which I have not had to opportunity to do in these shoes yet because of how new they are. I told the manager that I haven't been to a dance class with the shoes where I could go over the toe, and that my show's choreography is not complex enough for the shoe to break like this. He then accused me of lying and said that "the wear of this specific shoe tells me that's not true." His annoyance with my story & broken shoe could not have been clearer, but I continued to ask what there was to do. He shrugged off complaint and begrudgingly gave me the number to a cobbler he knew (he wouldn't give me the contact for the Laduca cobbler). I paid over $300 for a pair of shoes that didn't even last me 3 weeks. It was really a bummer to be treated this way after the holidays, especially because these shoes were a gift to myself I had saved up for. I hope that no one else has this issue and is treated like this in store. I'll be finding a different shoe brand that can do the exact same thing & recommend you do the same.
