The store is very narrow in most areas, especially the doorways and aisles and the selection is again limited. The overall shopping experience just seemed uncomfortable. 2* - I really don't see the need for this store with a much larger location around the corner, especially with two stores in such a small town, the Pharmacy is useful and deserving of an extra star. It would make more sense if they put the Pharmacy in their other location, but maybe it isn't logistical for them.

Boots' larger location within Stockport town centre, located in the outside part of the town's…read moreMerseyway Shopping Centre, and the store is well laid out, so it is clear and easy to find what you need within their required stock-levels (stock and product range could be better for a store of its size, I left empty-handed on my most recent visit to the store). There is an Opticians here too which is handy, to go alongside the regular services you'd find in a Boots. I do find shutting at 17:30 to be annoying, especially for such a large town. The only other branch nearby, which is ideal for late openings (Peel Centre Retail Park, Great Portwood Street) also closes at 17:30, so there is surely a need for a store which opens later in the area, especially for the essential Pharmacy services. I did find a lack of staff on the shop floor to be even more annoying, the only staff member I could find was a security guard at the front of the store, who was friendly but not helpful with finding certain items (That wasn't his job and I only asked him as there was no one else). 3* - If you can go into the city centre of Manchester, the Market Street store is much better, I actually had to go in there on my way home as I couldn't get what I needed here.

There was pleanty of staff on the tils and they were really efficent and helpful too. A great store definately one I will be going back too.

Boots on Great Portwood Street inside the Peel Centre sells more of an essential range compared to…read morewhat one would find on average at Boots, which is probably down to the larger location closer to the town centre inside Merseyway. I do think the store was a little understaffed and the drinks selection was again sadly poorer than other branches of Boots, they did have a satisfactory selection of basic essential items in the health and beauty area but the store could also have been a little cleaner. It is a useful location for essentials if you are in a car with limited time as you can park nearly right outside with it being towards the right end of the Peel Centre opposite Costa, but it isn't a fantastic store nonetheless. 2*
