It had been a very long time since I had this food. The last time I had it they were in a small shack. Now they have a full on restaurant. That not the only thing that changed, their food has went down hill. My large pork chop was tasteless, potato chips were stale, and sausage was ok. The picking up the food was odd to. The First Lady told me to wait even though she wasn't doing anything as soon as I walked in. Later Second Lady 20 feet calls me over to get my name and tell me wait again. Later a third lady brings out my food. This experience I can skip.

Right off Bardstown road and has a great dinning room. Sandwich was really good as well as the fries. I took a half slab of ribs home for dinner and they were really good.

Bootleg bbq is a long-standing fern creek staple located off old Bardstown road in Lousiville Kentucky a mile or so before hitting the Mount Washington city line. For years this was just a small shack with limited to no seating but over the last five years or so they did a complete remodel that features spacious seating, old school 50s and 60s style country decor and a very home feeling vibe to it. Service on my trips here are always pretty good. You order at the counter when walking in at the dine in portion and seat yourself. The opposite side of the counter which has a separate entrance is for carry out. In our history they have always gotten our food out fast, accurately and fresh. My personal go to meal is a pulled pork sandwich with a side of baked beans. I've gotten other sides in the past like max and cheese and there double tater (mashed potatoes with cheese on top) and you can't go wrong. The baked beans is my favorite though and some of my favorite in the city. The sandwich has a good taste and the bbq sauce is very tasty. My wife is a big fan of the pork and loves getting the burgoo side. Kids usually stick to the kids menu and usually finish there plates. So complaints on there end. Overall a nice hole in the wall establishment just a little bit off the beaten path of busy bardstown road that has above average bbq, good service and a good atmosphere.

we went today and got two nachos and two chili dogs. Neither one were big portions and the total came to $52 which is outrageous for what we got not to mention the food is disgusting and they didn't even get the order right please don't waste your money on this business. It's definitely a waste of time and money and a disappointment in the food. I will never return and I will never recommend them.

    Wings and 1/2 of brisket.

Bootleg at one time was the best bar-b-q in Louisville, unfortunately it's just not what it once was. Today I paid 25.40 for 13 wings and a 1/2 lb of brisket. The brisket was marginal, and the wings were an absolute joke as a recent reviewer wrote I didn't know you could get wings this small. Additionally, I left a tip with the young lady that was ringing me out of $2.40, there was no thanks or even a grunt. Remember this is a carry out, all that was done was hand me a bag didn't even offer a fork or napkin. Never again... sad to see a once great place go down.

Great BBQ and sides, my son said he likes the chicken wings, been going there for years.

Eight of us went to Bootleg this evening to celebrate a birthday. I was craving the pork chop but they were already sold out for the night, that's how good it is. The pork chop is approximately an inch to an inch and a quarter thick and smoked to juicy perfection. But I love the chicken also so it was an easy switch. The half bird was Smokey and juicy, the skin roasted to a crisp yet moist tasty bite. The baked potatoes are huge and come with butter, sour cream, bacon and cheese. Two of our party had the big Nasty and really enjoyed them. The big Nasty is a large brisket sandwich on a Kaiser bun smothered with gooey cheese, peppers, onions, and a tangy white sauce. The baked beans, tater salad, mac and cheese were all given a thumbs up. The service is friendly and the restaurant inviting.

They told me to call again a couple of hours before arriving, which I did. I was on hold for about 15 minutes, and they let me know our 7:00 p.m. request wouldn't work due to another large party, but they offered 7:15 or 7:30. I chose 7:15 and arrived around 7:18. My group didn't fully arrive until about 7:45, so I was worried our tables might not be held. They'd told me on the phone that they don't have tables bigger than eight, so we'd be seated at back-to-back tables. In the end, it worked out really well. Sixteen people showed up, and once everyone was there, I texted "here" as instructed. We were seated within five minutes, which was impressive given how late people were. We had two servers for the group, but everything ran smoothly. I ordered chicken tenders with fire tots and mac & cheese--all tasted fresh. The fire tots weren't as spicy as I expected, but still good. Their $5 margaritas are a steal--flavorful, though not heavy on the alcohol. I also tried my cousin's hot wings, which were spicy but had a unique flavor--less vinegary than standard buffalo wings, and I loved that. Overall, Bubba's 33 feels like an upscale Applebee's--inviting, accommodating, and just really good. I'd only ever gotten takeout before, but dining in was such a positive experience. The staff even brought out a free dessert for my aunt's birthday, which was a great touch. I'll definitely be back!

We had a party of eight that they accommodated. Among other large parties we saw. The ambience of the place is so nice so retro. There are about 3 to 4 separate corridors within the building that hold different rooms. Two of them are JUST games. One is half tables half games and then one is just bar and tables. In the summer they have a window that lifts up where you can sit on their patio too. I got a house margarita which I ordered two of because the first one was so good. It was a celebration for my mother-in-law's birthday so she just got a regular beer, but the service was still good amongst all opinions . The bartenders were in good moods and the staff was still super nice and kind even though they were swamped. ----- The FOOD. UNMATCHED! To be THAT busy and push out food of the quality we received is mind blowing!! Good job! I've been here before but no one else had. Note! They only have tater tots. No fries. So I got the Always Sunny Totchos. HALF ORDER Their tots with queso (amazing) & SHREDDED STEAK, GRILLED ONIONS & PEPPERS To dieeee for! So delicious. Then I got wings to go; sauce on the side. COOKED TO Perfection! Buffalo, bourbon bbq, and ranch. My husband got the Mikey Likey burger and he said it was great. (ITALIAN SEASONED PATTY, WARM MARINARA, MELTED MOZZARELLA, PEPPERONI & BANANA PEPPERS) His sister got the "it's a wrap" and she enjoyed it. His mom got the "cougar bait tacos" and loved them. Can't remember what everyone else got because I was on the other side of the table, but everyone enjoyed it. Overall fantastic food! really interesting items. There are so many things on their menu I want to try. I just would probably go on a day they are not so busy. ---- Last notes, their games operate off of tokens that they have machines for that take $1, $5, $10, $20 & it's 25c for each token technically. During my visit, both were out of order so the hostess said that you have to go to the bar and you can swipe your debit card in exchange for tokens, which is a little inconvenient so we didn't do that. But no biggie. I had 4 tokens because it took $1 so she got to play Pac-Man twice and she was happy lol Additionally parking is a little rough when they are busy. Overall great place. Be patient. It was my entire family of 6 plus 3 other friends of our kids. We received really good and top notch service the entire time and they handled our party size very well. We started off with two apps. We got the cheese and queso and the mozzarella sticks. We all only got one stick a piece and it was pretty good. Nice and thick cheese. The queso was amazing. Not many chips came with it an a lot of queso came with it. Our waiter recognized our party size and brought us a second bowl of chips out. Not sure if that is the norm but it was very nice of him regardless as I've never received a second plate of chips when ordering chips and queso app off other places menus. For our entrees we sampled the menu pretty good. I personally got the bbq bacon quesadilla and it was very good. Nice bbq sauce taste and salsa was very good. Chicken had good flavor and was cooked nice. Not the largest meal but it was tasty. My wife got the Cajun shrimp pasta and said it was great. Her side salad she enjoyed too. My two youngest and one of the family friends ordered off the kids menu. Two of them got chicken tenders and my second youngest daughter got a cheeseburger. The cheeseburger was phenomenal. One of the best if not the best kids menu cheeseburger I've ever had. Great flavor. The older kids got a catfish meal (family friend who said it was great), Buffalo shrimp (my oldest said was great) and the other family friend got honey bbq wings. I ate about 3 of the wings and they were great. Very saucey, crispy, large and with plenty of meat. Great sauce flavor too. Very messy but very good. The friend of my daughters who is a wing lover said they were great and she would want to come back to this place again. Overall everything we ate or sampled borders on either good or great. So very satisfied with our meal here and as stated we got great service. It was a Sunday nights in late April so there wasn't much of a crowd or any big sporting events on. However, I imagine during those type of events that This Is a cool place to watch them. As it has Good food and nice full service bar. Glad I found this place. Definition of a hidden gem. I've literally drove by the parking lot it is in a hundred times and never even seen the store front before. Pricing was good. Fot a party of 9 who got 8 entrees and 2 apps it was still under $100. So you can't complain about that at all. Ill absolutely come back. I'll make sure to come back in the future and maybe catch a football game or ufc fight here one night to experience that atmosphere.
