I went to Bubba's 33 to celebrate my aunt's birthday with a group of 13. Since they don't take reservations, I called a week ahead to figure out the best way to give them a heads-up. They told me to call again a couple of hours before arriving, which I did. I was on hold for about 15 minutes, and they let me know our 7:00 p.m. request wouldn't work due to another large party, but they offered 7:15 or 7:30. I chose 7:15 and arrived around 7:18. My group didn't fully arrive until about 7:45, so I was worried our tables might not be held. They'd told me on the phone that they don't have tables bigger than eight, so we'd be seated at back-to-back tables. In the end, it worked out really well. Sixteen people showed up, and once everyone was there, I texted "here" as instructed. We were seated within five minutes, which was impressive given how late people were. We had two servers for the group, but everything ran smoothly. I ordered chicken tenders with fire tots and mac & cheese--all tasted fresh. The fire tots weren't as spicy as I expected, but still good. Their $5 margaritas are a steal--flavorful, though not heavy on the alcohol. I also tried my cousin's hot wings, which were spicy but had a unique flavor--less vinegary than standard buffalo wings, and I loved that. Overall, Bubba's 33 feels like an upscale Applebee's--inviting, accommodating, and just really good. I'd only ever gotten takeout before, but dining in was such a positive experience. A pleasant atmosphere inside, with very clean restrooms. You can tell they really care about cleanliness, which is always a plus. The only downside was the music being too loud. It made it hard to talk with friends at the table, so turning the volume down slightly would improve the experience. Our server's service was average. She did her job, but wasn't very friendly or engaging. The food was excellent. The beer was ice cold, and the nachos were more than enough for six people to share. Bubba's was down the street from our hotel, so we pulled up. It was definitely a busy Wednesday evening and they were in full swing. Big portions! Big TVs! Fast paced energy. My better half ordered the Chicken fried steak. She said it was solid -- crispy edges, tender inside, and exactly what she was looking for. I ordered the fried chicken salad... and it was on point. Tasty and HUGE! The youngest ordered mac and cheese and gave it her seal of approval (and she's a Mac snob) so that's saying something. The spot's got sports bar energy: TVs on every wall & music on max. Staff was friendly, even while juggling a full house. First,I want to say that the food is great. The service has been excellent and everyone seems to be very helpful. The biggest problem is the volume of the music. We tried twice to eat inside, and we just couldn't do it. I have been to concerts that weren't as loud. And asking them to turn the volume down is useless. Me and my wife come here often, and it definitely was crazy the first time we went when they just opened up. Now that the dust and excitement has settled it is still a great place to eat. The food is a good portion for what you pay for. Tonight I got the Bubba Smash Burger which had great flavor but it was definitely over sauced. Sprinkled with what I would say was one of their wings dry rub, I loved it but I was sweating when it was done (Good tea would have helped with this BTW) Overall, the steak was tender, with a good flavor. This place is A-OK! I visited this spot with my family for lunch on a Friday around 1:00. It was pretty darn packed which I expected as the restaurant had just opened a few weeks before. The service was very slow and it took us a long time for us to get our drinks and food. Again, it was recently opened at the time so that was sort of understandable. I had the fried chicken sandwich, hot, with tots. The chicken was gigantic and was cooked very well. The buffalo hot wasn't really hot so I will definitely try the habanero flavor next time. The tots were really disappointing as they were really soggy. They crisped up nicely in the air fryer for dinner, though. This was the best food and service I have had anywhere in a long time. We didn't call ahead because I didn't know that was a thing until I got there. We waited an hour and 15 minutes. Which we didn't mind. We weren't in a hurry and the parking lot was packed with a jeep night. The person I was with was there to celebrate his Birthday. And our waiter Greg went and above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. I can't say enough things about Greg. Always kept us updated on our food and drink orders, very friendly, and fast. We visited at 3:30p on a Monday. There were many cars on the parking lot, which led us to think that the place was relatively busy. It was. We were greeted and our party of three was seated immediately. My elderly Aunt had a rolling walker (rollator) that they accommodated nicely by offering a table that had extra space for the storage for the rollator. Our server, Kirstin, spent no time at all getting our drink and appetizer orders. The garlic knots were scrumptious. I could smell the garlic when they were placed on the table. There were nine in the order. So that was a perfect number for each of us to have three. Each knot was smothered with a little butter, Parmesan cheese, and a sprinkle of basil . They were a great start to our meal. My husband ordered the Chicken-bacon Mac-n-cheese. His Aunt ordered the regular cheeseburger with a side of tater tots and I ordered the Bacon Guacamole burger with a side of broccoli. The food arrived very quickly and everything tasted delicious. The texture and consistency of the Mac-n-cheese was perfect to my husband. The cheeseburger was juicy and the tots had the right ratio of crunchiness on the outside and softness on the inside. My Bacon-Guacamole burger was SO juicy that I couldn't touch it without the need to wipe the juices off my fingers after I took a bite. My side of broccoli was cooked in butter and sprinkled with garlic. It was delicious! Can you tell that I absolutely LOVE garlic? Kristin, our server, kept our drinks refreshed and checked on us during our meal in a timely fashion. Overall, our experience was a great one. The place was bustling with crowds waiting to be seated. Once we got our table, we were promptly greeted and served our drinks. For appetizers, we chose the mozzarella sticks, which were a bit underwhelming. I ordered the Chipotle Pasta with extra shrimp, and my husband went for the double smash burger with tater tots. My pasta was delicious and perfectly cooked, while he absolutely loved his burger and tots. We shared bites of each other's meals, and everything was perfect except for the mozzarella sticks. We were kind of dissapointed in the food and atmosphere on our first visit here. But our service was excellent. Had lunch with my 88 year old aunt and my cousins. I can't say for sure that all 6 seat accommodations are high top tables but it appeared to be and it was not super comfortable. It was also very loud and was difficult to hear across the table. The space is huge and we didn't have to wait long for a table. Our server was super friendly with a great personality and extremely accomodating. She kept our drinks refreshed, brought go containers, checked on us and was honest with answers about menu items. My cousins ordered the meat queso dip for the table that was way too spicy hot for our taste. One cuz had the pepperoni pizza and said it was good. Two had burgers that were good but so sloppy that they were hard to hold without falling apart. We had chicken tenders with fries and a side salad. We were seated promptly but in order to accomplish that, we weren't super comfortable. We wound up in a long booth with a tall chair at the end for one person. What does the 33 stand for? Based on my visit, I think it stands for "you're going to wait 33 minutes longer than the online waiting list indicated" Or maybe it is "you're going to wait 33 minutes for your family of four to get pizza, burger and a sandwich (it was actually a bit longer....long wait, for those keeping track) Or maybe it was, you're going to wait 3x3 minutes (that's 9 minutes for those of us who were educated in public schools) for plates After your pizza is brought to the table. Story time: we waited nearly 10 minutes (9 actually, remember the mathematics above) and when I had lost all hope that our server would come back, I got up and found someone and asked for some plates for our pizza. I received a delightful response of a finger in my face, no words, not even a sound, and then a motion to go ask someone else. So I did. We eventually got some plates. When our real server was around, she was very nice. And the manager who came by twice during our lengthy stay was also very pleasant. So, was the food worth the wait? Let's start with the drinks - pro tip: skip the flavored drinks. They were pricey and not very good. I got a Mango Tea. It was really bad. They didn't flavor the tea with mango puree or mango syrup. It was literally just three 1/2" cubes of mango just floating in the very mediocre tea. This doesn't flavor a drink and only serves as a garnish. The other drinks were mediocre as well as reported by the fam. I'd stick with just good ol' normal drinks and save yourself a bunch o' money The BBQ chicken pizza had a good flavor, but was not very substantial. They hit a new standard for thin crust...micro-crust? The cheese burger was very tasty, prepared well, not greasy, though a bit sloppily thrown together, and a good portion size. The Monte Cristo was very good. The light dusting of powdered sugar hit only one half of the sandwich (better aim next time chef!). The jam which comes as a dip was also very good. Many restaurants get the Monte Cristo wrong, but Bubba got this one right - bravo. Lightly fried, not oily/greasy, exterior very crispy and interior nice and melty. I recommend this item. Atmosphere: just a bit too noisy for comfort. I'm a musician, so I like to listen music at any decibel, but this was about 3 or 4 decibles too loud - this is not a club, this is a restaurant. By the way, the 33 actually stands for the year prohibition ended. I won't be in a hurry to go see Bubba any time soon. Maybe in about 33 weeks I'll get a craving for a Monte Cristo and will make my way back to wait 33 extra minutes; but I'll know to save myself 33 bucks and skip the flavored drinks while I count to "33" thirty-three times waiting for my plates. read more
