Small Artisan gift shop with something for everyone. Great for picking up some gifts made in Maine. Recommend!

I love Enchantments and have for years. This store is a must- go every time I'm in Maine for at…read moreleast a few days. It is tough to add pictures because pictures wouldn't do this place any justice. I will say, if you get overwhelmed easily with a press of merchandise all around, you may need to steel yourself before going in. There are a lot of sections of the store, many cases of many things, so it is likely they have something you're looking for, assuming you're looking for magickal, spiritual, or other wares in those veins. There are varying levels of quality and price points. The staff are very nice as well, and if you have a particular interest they can guide you to that which you seek. They have 4 parking spots just for their store, and there is other parking nearby. They do not have a public restroom, that is at the bottom of the hill they're on. They do charge a card fee. If you're in town, or the area, come visit this store. I really think you won't be disappointed that you took the time to do so.

This isn't just a store, it's local flavor!…read more Even if you buy nothing, you HAVE to come here just to walk around. There is SO MUCH TO LOOK AT. Every single inch, every nook and cranny, has something going on. Also - how can you not love a place that has glitter confetti ALL OVER THE GROUND?! It's a two-story "theater" (their words) offering "metaphysical gifts including Wiccan, spiritual, fantasy, and extramundane needs" (again, their words). My words? It's full of unique things and curiosities and wonders and magic and I don't totally understand everything that's happening here, except this must be the same feeling people in the (19)20's had when a carnival would roll into town... then overnight be gone! There's a few things to note about this store: they prefer you don't touch much (there are signs everywhere asking that you not) and they prefer you don't take photos (which is why you don't see many). And, because there's an overwhelming amount of stuff it can a) be very easy to get turned around in and b) can be difficult to navigate the extremely narrow aisles. Just be patient and allow yourself to take it all in!

You know that art teacher? The one who was warm, maybe a tad eccentric, understood the importance…read moreof playing, accepting of all, inviting, a safe space to land, encouraging of your creations no matter how fantastical or simple? That's The Mix. A totally non-judgemental arts and crafts store that appreciates you trying to make art and do crafts in a world increasingly not built for beauty, but for zeros and ones. I found everything I was looking for and so much more here: really sparkly embroidery thread that I never knew existed, gold pens that write oh-so-smooth, and locally made glittery watercolor paint (no gatekeeping here, it's Antimadder Art if you want to look it up). Genuinely, my partner had been craving colors exactly like these! Loving their new space; it's a big, old building with loads of windows to flood every nook and cranny with natural light! Be sure to sign up for loyalty points! There are workshops and product demos now! And in the summer they have live music on their porch! Go. Get your supplies. Say hi to Leslie; she's the art teacher you're missing in your boring adult life. #heartemoji

And the job was finished in a timely fashion, just as promised. We had considered replacing the chairs, but for less than half that expense we were able to keep the chairs we've enjoyed for almost fifty years. We highly recommend doing business with The Craft Shop in Windham, ME.

What a fun little discovery on my way into town. I have passed this place a zillion times and had…read moresaid I would stop eventually. Well, stop I did, to see if they had a gift for a friend's birthday. First, I love any store that smells like balsam as you walk through the door. The scent makes me feel like a kid again. I'm not from Maine (have been here long enough to feel at home), but as a kid we used to drive here from Ohio and spend a few weeks going up and down the coast. The smell of balsam reminds me of these trips. Second, I was shocked by the variety they had. Maple syrup, Maine souvenirs, crafting supplies, wooden figurines, and antiques. The have a sign stating that they "glue chairs". I didn't know that was a thing, but apparently, it is... They also sell wreaths and Christmas trees during the appropriate season. And finally, the owners were as nice as could be. They had out hot chocolate for the kids, and they wrapped my little gift up neatly. This little shop is well worth the drive into town because of how darn cute it is!
