I will say, if you get overwhelmed easily with a press of merchandise all around, you may need to steel yourself before going in. There are a lot of sections of the store, many cases of many things, so it is likely they have something you're looking for, assuming you're looking for magickal, spiritual, or other wares in those veins. There are varying levels of quality and price points. The staff are very nice as well, and if you have a particular interest they can guide you to that which you seek. They have 4 parking spots just for their store, and there is other parking nearby. They do not have a public restroom, that is at the bottom of the hill they're on. They do charge a card fee. If you're in town, or the area, come visit this store. I really think you won't be disappointed that you took the time to do so.

Every single inch, every nook and cranny, has something going on. Also - how can you not love a place that has glitter confetti ALL OVER THE GROUND?! It's a two-story "theater" (their words) offering "metaphysical gifts including Wiccan, spiritual, fantasy, and extramundane needs" (again, their words). My words? It's full of unique things and curiosities and wonders and magic and I don't totally understand everything that's happening here, except this must be the same feeling people in the (19)20's had when a carnival would roll into town... then overnight be gone! There's a few things to note about this store: they prefer you don't touch much (there are signs everywhere asking that you not) and they prefer you don't take photos (which is why you don't see many). And, because there's an overwhelming amount of stuff it can a) be very easy to get turned around in and b) can be difficult to navigate the extremely narrow aisles. Well, stop I did, to see if they had a gift for a friend's birthday. First, I love any store that smells like balsam as you walk through the door. The scent makes me feel like a kid again. I'm not from Maine (have been here long enough to feel at home), but as a kid we used to drive here from Ohio and spend a few weeks going up and down the coast. The smell of balsam reminds me of these trips. Second, I was shocked by the variety they had. Maple syrup, Maine souvenirs, crafting supplies, wooden figurines, and antiques. The have a sign stating that they "glue chairs". I didn't know that was a thing, but apparently, it is... They also sell wreaths and Christmas trees during the appropriate season. And finally, the owners were as nice as could be. They had out hot chocolate for the kids, and they wrapped my little gift up neatly. This little shop is well worth the drive into town because of how darn cute it is!

Talent on display…read more This store is absolutely amazing. The old building has at least a dozen rooms and hallways just filled with wonderful and creative arts & crafts items. Just so many different things that you can spend a whole heap of tie inside. All the items are made by Maine artists and craft people and the variety and all of the interesting colors, shapes and uses of the different items is impressive. Just about every type of cute, funny or sentimental crafty things can be found somewhere inside. Things out of wood, cloth, stone and paper. it's all here. Toys, clothing, garden ornaments, photos, drawings, animal stuff, holiday things, furniture, decorations and lots of cool items that exist for no reason other than to look nice. A wonderful store that is especially great around the holidays. Definitely not a tacky tourist store although some cool souvenirs can be found here. There are some amazing, cool and very fun things lurking in this old red building.

Nice little store for a serious artist. Not exactly Blick or Jerry's but good for what you need in…read morean area that is target-rich for things to paint. Many things offered at a discount. Most artists visiting the area will probably bring their own supplies, but this is a good place for those things who forgot or find that they could use something else. The lady that appears to own the store seems to be an artist herself and can possibly give advice on where to find some subjects. The few customers who were there when I visited, seemed to be experienced artists who enjoyed chatting with the proprietor.
