I was told by my coworkers I should try the trendy Hoka since I'm on my feet for 13 hours. I have bilateral deformities in my feet and finding shoes that don't cause blisters in these areas is very challenging. For $160, I was optimistic.... but after one day if wearing my feet were in agony. I put them back in the box with a plan to return in my next free day. In the interim I lost the receipt. Thankfully since they have a record if all my purchases, I was able to get a full refund without any problems.

Not because she has massively huge man-feet, but it's just a random name. Right? Point is, that there were shoes that fit those gunboats...and looked great, to boot (see what I did there). She left with a pair of heels, a running shoe and slippers. NR has a new shoe customer, thanks to me (even though she'll never admit it was me). I bring my boots into the redwing store expecting the manufacture error to be resolved on the spot but the guy standing in for Pete didn't know how to operate the machine. Their space is clean with wood floors. There seemed to be just as much clothing items as there were footwear. Since a few employees were present, we were assisted immediately. Our worker seemed new, but efficient and eager to please. We came to find a comfortable walking shoe for my dad and luckily found something in the Hoka brand that we hoped would work. The Alaska Walking Store does not give cash refunds FYI. Most shoes are at least $99, so take your time. Luckily, you ARE able to make exchanges at any of their locations (2, currently).

She said there was a problem with the register and moved us to the next one. This time when I swiped my card the charge went through to my bank (I have texting alerts with my bank). Then that register "voided the sale", but it didn't void the charges. She moved us back to the first register and tried it again but wanted me to run my card again, explaining that it really hadn't charged me yet. Third try and register still not working. they charged me for shoes I was told I couldn't take home. I took photos of the voided transactions and called customer service the next day. Supposedly the charge would "fall off in 5 days". That was 10 days ago, it never fell off, I was never given a credit for my payment and my only recourse apparently is to contest it with my bank. I used to like this store but their customer service was terrible, they never made it right, and to get the boots and shoes for my son and granddaughter I had to pay for it again full price with no credit for my previous payment. I will never shop here again unless they step up and make this right. **Update** within 24hrs after I posted my original review I was contacted by someone from in the company who apologized profusely my terrible experience in the store. However so had to go over it yet again so they could look into it. A couple weeks later I received an email apologizing again and told me I should receive my refund within 3-5 weeks (!!!) I just received it on Monday, the day yesterday. Length of time to resolve: 46 days.

Although he's got a decent amount of inventory on-site, he is also open to requests. My spouse wanted a specific Yeezy color-way in a highly sought after size. The owner had them available for my spouse to purchase in a reasonable amount of time. Northwest's kicks are certified authentic and cheaper than StockX. Having dealt with Cache Alaska (Northwests' only competitor) on two different occasions, Northwest definitely provides a personal shopping experience in comparison. This business is needed and we will continue to support it. Highly recommend.
