Shoewhores beware! ShuzyQ is DANGEROUS. Their shoes are HOT HOT HOT. They've got a nice assortment of work and play shoes. Some of their shoes are super slutty and sexy, others are high quality super comfy shoes, others are hip work shoes. I loved their collection of shoes from Japan. The stylings of the store are very eclectic, ranging from Goth to Grandma to Harujaku. I was surprised to find such a unique collection of shoes in Anchorage. Mama, I've come home! This is the second time I've been to this store. The first time was last year and I didn't even get greeted after being there for an 45mins patiently waiting for help and ended up walking out. Today, I went in 45 mins before they closed. I didn't get greeted because she was busy but finally got greeted 15 mins after walking around and I had time to figure out what shoes I wanted to try on. I got greeted but then she greeted someone else and gave a little more attention to the other customer. I decided to wait a out 5 more mins but she still didn't ask if I wanted to try anything on or if I needed help. I won't be back, it feels like my money isn't worth as much as anyone else's and I've tried twice and felt completely out of place. It was my wedding day. MoH Eva had driven up from Soldotna, but unfortunately, her lovely wedding shoes had been left behind. The day before, she had scoured Anchorage with no luck in finding a suitable replacement ("There are no brown high heels in this town!" was the lament). She had given up hope, but in a flash of inspiration, we decided to try one more place. ShuzyQ! Thanks to the quick thinking of Bridesmatron Molly, we hustled over to this fantastic little shoe boutique (shootique?), and I knew upon walking in the door that we had struck gold. My MoH, who likes to proudly claim that the only thing girly about her is her shoe-whoreyness, was rendered speechless as she wandered the store, reaching out once in awhile to caress a particularly beautiful pump. I was impressed by the wide selection of shoe brands that you could previously not find locally. John Fluevogs? No way! And what the hell are those ugly, 6-inch things on the wall? I'm not going to buy them, but it's fun to see something ridiculously trendy in an Anchorage shop. The prices were what I would expect to pay at home in San Francisco, which is to say reasonable for fancy-schmansy shoes. All of the pairs that my MoH looked at were between the $75 - $100 mark. They had a large sale selection as well, and I believe that there I saw shoes in the $30 - $50 range. The shop is not huge, but if you need a pair of beautiful, stylish, trendy, or unique shoes, then there is a good chance that you'll find it here. As for our success? MoH Eva fell deeply in love with a pair of dark red, patent leather-ish peep toe pumps (even better than brown!) that were perfect for the wedding. Thank goodness for you, ShuzyQ! read more

The majority of the reviews I read here seem suspect.... like perhaps they were written by someone that would really benefit from such good reviews. The wording seems too knowledgeable about key words and phrases often used in shoe sales marketing. Just my observation. read more

Awesome selection of unique and beautiful shoes. Their marketing emails make my heart skip a beat. Those stunning images stay warm and toasty on the back-burner of my mind. Prices are full MSRP. Do they have sales? Idk, but they have "shoe sugar" which is 5%(?) reward credit. If they dropped their prices 5% and you have "shoe sugar" to use, then you're looking at competitive pricing. But it's a boutique and there's nothing else like it in Anchorage where XtraTufs are worn for every occasion. And really, who can be reasonable when you're surrounded by the glory that is shoes?! Overly friendly and helpful staff. Though, this is definitely a detractor for me. Every time I walk near a salesgirl I feel like I've been hit by tsunami of heavy syrup. They won't pass you without complimenting you or effusively singing the praises of each and every shoe you touch. I certainly like to be treated well, but I don't need to be shellacked, thanks! Basically the only place I'll shop for pretty shoes. It's definitely an investment, but they last forever. One of my favorite girl's day activities is coming by with friends and admiring not just the shoes, but all the little trinkets and accessories. I buy their fun socks for gifts (and myself), the jewelry is lovely, and the purse and hats make great additions to any outfit. My favorite brands are Poetic License and Irregular Choice, but my clothing style can also often be described as quirky at best. But there's definitely something here for everyone! Very unhappy with the unadvertised return policy on any purchase that is not shoes. I was told there is a 14 day return policy, I returned my non-shoe items after 17 days, 3 of which the store was closed. I was told I could only receive an in-store credit even though I paid cash, had I paid with a card I could have received a full refund. Total BS. What a fun store! This boutique is full of the coolest, cutest, prettiest shoes, and the staff is incredibly helpful. I was looking for dress boots that weren't made of leather (animal welfare concerns), and they said they usually have plenty of those, but they could only find one pair this time. They scoured the back to look for more though. They were determined! Next time I need some awesome shoes, I'm going here. The boot prices ranged from about $100 to over $300--what you'd expect for shoes of this quality. They also have a variety of great boot socks, plus some accessories, such as purses, hats and scarves. read more
