I am a huge running etc. store fan. I have been coming here for years for all my running needs. The…read morestaff here are so helpful and I enjoy seeing familiar faces. If you are a runner, you will find all your runner needs from running gear to energy gels and all the accessories a runner will want. The prices are fair and they do have sales every now and then. Always check out the lucky shoe wall for great sale prices on previous shoe models and of course the sale rack.

The service remains top notch and was immediate. I needed a replacement shoe for my four year broken down everyday Hoka's. I have really loved the brand and hoped to stay in them. But was also open to try others. The sales guy understood my needs and confirmed my old Hoka's were trash. They upgraded the Bondi I'm in to the 10, so he started with that. However, he first had me walk up and down to evaluate my gait. He measured my feet. He pulled out around six colors to choose from and I tried on a pair and walked again for evaluation. They felt much better than my broken down sneaks. After an inspection of the laces and the way my toes were in the box he pulled out a wide shoe from the back. They only came in three colors, but the gray is what I wanted anyway. After walking again the wide shoe felt the best and more comfortable in the toe box. My previous shoes were regular width. We also discussed socks that would be more beneficial for walking and jogging avoiding cotton at all cost. Cotton retains moisture, that can cause blisters. So go with synthetics, or wool. I tried on a synthetic by Feetures that felt great and picked up a pair to purchase with new shoes. I wore my new ones out and they recycled my old ones and the box. Hoka's are not a cheap brand. So expect $165 and up. Checkout was smooth on my card. Running Etc is a unique experience on service as I described. They know the sport of running, they know their products and best of all the know how to satisfy their customers with phenomenal service. Whole heartedly recommend!!!

I felt a bit like an imposition just by entering the store, as they were pretty disinterested in helping us. The lone lady came out after I asked about the classic prints and pretty much returned to the coffee clatch. We checked out some of the other items, but it wasnt my taste. I picked out a long sleeve classic, paid and left. Next time I'll order online.

We spent around $500 and were rushed out by the young kids trying to close the store . The dressing room was shut on us twice meaning locked out while taking clothes to the register . We had zero help and no enthusiasm for the store . We were not approached one time to see if we needed any help finding anything . We had to look for an associate multiple Times. We were super nice and not asking for anything over the top but felt very unwelcome and would have bought much more if the staff was warm and helpful . They clearly wanted to just close the store and were not even remotely friendly .... Such a shame / that place used to be a great place to go to while In VA beach . Will be our last time there ....

I have been to every shoe store in the tidewater area and have met with less than unsatisfactory service. New Balance was the last place I had yet to try and did so on 8/12/25. My family and I walked in and was greeted immediately and asked if there was anything I was looking for. I went there looking for a particular shoe that they offer but they did not have in stock. Nick, was the gentleman that assisted us and I explained my situation and he knew exactly what I was talking about and started to educate me on the shoes they offered that could help my condition. I tried in several pairs as we talked about hip-hop and how the music has changed over the years. I finally settled on pair. Out of all the places I've visited, this was the only place that listened to me and understood my problem. They weren't trying to sell me a shoe, rather a solution and it was worth it to wear that pair out of the store and finally walk on my own without the help of a walking boot. I will definitely be back and will always recommend this store and Nick.

This New Balance store is located in a shopping area in the Hilltop section of Virginia Beach near…read morethe corner of Republic Rd. and First Colonial Rd. There is ample parking in the area, but they do not have any restrooms at this store, so make sure to do your business before visiting if you need to. My visit here was on October 6, 2021. I was in the market at the time for a new pair of shoes to use at the recreation center, as I do tend to use the elliptical and some other things frequently there. I wanted something that would be a great fit for that. After entering the store, there were two people working there at the time, so it was just a few minutes before the worker was able to come over to me, after finishing with another client in the store. Once one of them were done, they came over. I can't remember her name, but she was great to work with. She asked me what type of shoes I wanted and then went from there. We went over a few different kinds, and finally found one that fit me well. She first did a sizing and then went from there. In this case, the only difference in sizing for me was a wide (E) version instead of a regular (D) version. The E version did fit much better than the regular version. Overall, this was a great experience and I did end up purchasing the shoes that she suggested, including the E size after trying them on and walking with them on in the store first. The fit was perfect, and it wasn't popping up in the back while walking and such too. This was a great experience overall and one of the best experiences I have had at any shoe store. I've never had anyone go to that detail to make sure the shoes were a perfect fit for me. I will totally come back here in the future when I need another pair in the future. If you are currently in the market for shoes, you definitely need to give this New Balance location a chance to serve you. Yo won't be disappointed.

We decided to try Coastal Edge and had an…read moreincredible experience at the camp and with our skateboard shopping experience (but it was much more than that). I want to comment about the skate camp first. My kids ended up taking a the week long camp with John Fudala. John and Denise were amazing with them (ages 9,9,6). The kids learned an so many tricks and techniques - I couldn't believe how much and how quickly they learned. Their confidence levels increased every day, and they had an absolute blast. The kids have repeatedly told me that this was one of the best camps they've ever been a part of, and they done many different types of camps during their young lives. John and Denise made it so much fun (costumes, music, pizza, and a mellow environment). As a parent, I really appreciated listening to the life lessons they were teaching the kids about perseverance, practice, and hard work while they taught them how to skate safely. I highly recommend it and hope to come back in August once they've had a chance to practice :) Now, I want to comment about the store experience. My daughter fell in love with skateboarding, so I decided to get her a better board than she had. John and the staff at the store helped us pick out the right board for her. Having been in customer-facing positions my entire life, I am not easily impressed, but I was blown away by Tanner who works at Coastal Edge. She was amazing. She went ridiculously far above and beyond. The backstory is that my daughter had seen the right size, type, and color (pink) the day before, but it had sold by the time we decided to buy it the next day. She saw my daughter - who that day was the only girl at the camp - and wanted her to fall in love with the sport. So, she took my mobile number so i could go to work. Within an hour, she had called every single Coastal Edge location multiple times looking for the right board. She found one, but it wasn't pink. My daughter could have lived with a masculine board, but Tanner saw her in all pink pads, shoes, shorts, etc. and decided that she was going to get my daughter a pink board no matter what. Tanner talked to a friend of hers, Jenah (also another stellar employee), and they offered to take the board home that night, sand it, and paint it pink (with my daughter's favorite things: unicorns, rainbows, flowers) out of sheer kindness. They asked for Isabella's input on the design (I sent them a drawing she had made). They took it and made something really special. The brought it to Isabella on day 2 of her camp. Jenah wasn't working at that location, but came any way to give the board directly to izzy and to watch her take her maiden voyage on it. When I asked about payment, they only asked for some chocolate chip cookies. There is so much to be negative about in the world, but these young women have me hopeful about the future. They made a massive impact on my daughter and a huge impression on me. I will encourage my daughter to pay it forward someday when she's a little older. I never write review either, but this was the very least I felt I should do for what was an amazing week. Any company is only as good as its people, and Coastal Edge has amazing employees. THANK YOU for an amazing camp and life experience this week!
