I tried this Mediterranean restaurant while I was in Detroit because it had a lot of good reviews. I got the chicken shawarma which was okay. I got a "whole plate" to go which came with a lot of food. It was $15, usually I pay around $8-$10 back home. The chicken however, had no seasoning! I have definitely had better Mediterranean food although, the pita bread was the best I have ever had. It was softer and chewy which I loved. The hummus that came with the bread was average. I would add more seasoning in general to the dish. I would not come back here but I do recommend it to people in the area. read more

This place is so fantastic! Every time I've stopped in for a carryout I've received fast, courteous and friendly service, and exceedingly delicious food. Today I got their lunch deal: sandwich, side, and drink for around 7 bucks. I chose a chicken shawarma with a house salad. The sandwich was stuffed with a ton of perfectly cooked chicken and the pita was super soft and fresh. As good as that was, it was really the salad that impressed me. You can tell a restaurant takes real pride in their food when they make sure even a simple side salad is as delicious as possible. Seriously, this was just chopped romaine, tomato, cucumber and onion, but the ingredients were so fresh and obviously prepared with care. I get the impression that Boostan doesn't sell food they wouldn't want to serve their own family, and that is an excellent way to run a restaurant. This is my favorite spot in the Ham. Menu is gigantic. Food is amazing. Fresh mango juice is to die for. I can go on and on about this place but I think it's best to try for yourself. My go to is to order about 2-3 sandwiches and a side of fries. Fresh mango juice as well of course. I'm honestly speechless at the friendliness of the employees here as well. I LOVE Boostan. I live close-by and I'm angry at myself for not being a regular customer since they opened. I went once and received a subpar falafel sandwich, but that must have been an off day because I've been back about five or six times and every.single.time. they have exceeded my expectations. So delicious every order! The boostan shawarma is my fave because it is totally weird with shredded cheese and banana peppers, although I will say, the last couple of times I ordered it I think they gave me a regular shawarma wrap because there was no cheese or peppers, but it's SO good that I didn't even care tbh. Try the sub sandwiches! Get a 12 inch and save half for lunch the next day! Or eat it all and take a nap with a super full belly! read more

It's super unassuming, a small shop with limited seating. The menu is in Arabic and English, which tipped me off that I was about to experience deliciousness. I got the chicken Kafka sandwich, which came with a massive house salad, pita, and a soft drink. This lunch special topped out at $6.99, a true bargain. The sandwich was HEAVENLY. The chicken was grilled and juicy, with all the spices I expected. The garlic sauce is in a league of its own. And the portion sizes are massive. The veggies in the chicken schwarma salad were crunchy as they should be, the tabouli is wonderfully lemony. Hummus is definitely among the best I've had.
