I was looking for a new coffee shop this morning and came across Delite Cafe & Deli. The cafe is quite spacious, with plenty of seating options in the back. We ordered Cappuccino, Rada'ai, and Ghirardelli White Chocolate. The Cappuccino was perfect! The Rada'ai tasted great, but the smell was too strong for me; it was as if the cardamoms were burnt. The Ghirardelli White Chocolate tasted like milk. It seems that plenty of people enjoyed the subs in this place, so I'd definitely drop by again to try one of those in the future. read more

Ordered a hot sub sandwich to go and made it a meal with chips and drink. The staff were super friendly and conversational. I thought the prices were fair and the flavor was great. Oh my goodness! I'd have to re-write my monthly budget if I lived or worked near this place. Definitely a standout sandwich! We popped in for a late lunch before a DCFC match this weekend and were very pleased. The menu is fairly large, but not so big that it's overwhelming. I went with the Supreme Sub which has roast beef and turkey, with the typical toppings. The sub was EXCELLENT, with Boar's Head meats (the roast beef was tender and perfectly medium) and some amazing bread that was delightfully crispy and soft. She got a custom turkey and cheddar with oil/vinegar... a sandwich that sounds too boring to be good... but it was just as delicious. The space is cute and cafe-ish, and they've got plenty of seating in the back room. Staff was friendly and helpful. Prices are pretty reasonable too... two subs, a pop, chips, and coleslaw for a hair under $20. Not too shabby, especially for this kind of quality and flavor. read more

It is a dingy little deli with a small, half empty deli case, dirty floors, dirty looking appliances, dirty trays, and Boar's Head products haphazardly thrown into a hoagie roll. I can't figure out why the reviews are so high. Maybe because it's open until 9pm? Maybe they have really good coffee or something I didn't order. The staff was friendly but the sandwiches are mediocre. The fact that they proudly use Boar's Head doesn't justify the small, overpriced subs. Mine was forgettable. It lacked meat and flavor. Street parking is a hassle because Caniff is busy no matter what time of day. The café is a lot bigger than it looks. There's a huge area in the back that has modern decor including a couch and a few tables and chairs. Because the area is so big, it looks sparsely furnished. WiFi is free but the seating area wasn't very clean. The tables looked like they hadn't been bussed. A friendly manager did speak to me as he walked by. Unfortunately I won't be returning. read more

This place has been around for a few years, but it's new to me. Effective immediately, it's my new favorite place to eat in Hamtramck. Delite Cafe & Deli is a casual place with fine quality ingredients. Boar's Head meats, fresh breads, the whole nine yards. When I stopped in for lunch today, I had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners, Taher. Really nice guy. He did a fantastic job of explaining different types sandwiches and also recommended a different type of bread for my pastrami sub (we put it on ciabatta - so good!). Overall customer service experience was superb. Taher even gave me a brief history of the building while I waited for my sandwich. (It used to be a music center). Fun fact: There is a good-sized, quiet lounge area behind the deli with free wifi. Definitely a space I can see myself making use of in the future. Oh, and the most important part... the "sinking your teeth into it" part. My sandwich was nothing short of delicious. Everything was fresh and top quality. Baked to perfection. If you stop in here for a sandwich, you will not be disappointed. Great deli! read more

After reading so many enthusiastically positive reviews, I am really and genuinely confused. Just got carryout. A bagel, a reuben, and a classic sub sandwich. Bagel was okay quality I guess, but had so little cream cheese on it I had to take it apart to make sure it was even there. Two bites and it went straight in the trash. Reuben also wasn't quite there. Bread was thin and definitely not substantial enough to hold up to the mounds of meat and kraut. I love reuben sandwiches both high and low brow, but this one was just sad. I also asked for dressing on the side which didn't happen. Not a huge deal, but again, I have taken two bites and really don't have much interest in taking any more. The classic deli sub is the best thing of the bunch, but really didn't inspire the musings on its glory I see in other reviews. Did I come on a bad day? Did I even come to the same place?! Two stars for friendly service and clean interior, but man alive this was a colossal disappointment. read more

They are doing a lot of things right here. Great Lakes coffee, made well. (the cappucinos and lattes are great) You can also buy whole beans or ground coffee. Boar's Head meat makes a huge difference. Good bread makes a big difference. Their selection of sandwiches is maybe a bit small now, and they could certainly expand their menu a bit, but the ones I have had have been fresh and tasty. I'm told they are now offering breakfast wraps, as they open early. I love the pickles on the side. There is a huge room in the back with couches and tables. There is definitely free wi-fi, that I have taken advantage of for work and studying. The staff is super friendly and happy to recommend something if you are unsure about what you want. The owner told me the reuben and the blazin' sandwiches are the most popular now. I'd like to see some weird specialty sandwiches in here too. this is Hamtramck after all, bring on the weird. This is probably the best place to have a sandwich in Hamtramck right now. With a little more experience and a little more variety, this place will be a solid five stars. read more

Wanted a deli sandwich for lunch and delite was the closest deli to my work (nortown, Detroit) that seems to do actually deli sandwiches. Got a traditional Reuben. Perfect sandwich, didn't come on the marbled rye, but the rye it came on was still great. Quality meat and cheese. Plenty of dressing. 11/10 would recommend. I also got the chicken tortilla soup, which wasn't for me but could definitely see a lot of people enjoying. Finished off with an iced latte which they didn't make until I walked in the door to avoid melting ice. It's the forethought for me. Will be returning. I will be a regular. read more
