This place is unreal. Too beautiful for this world…read more First off the food is awesome. I've eaten at a number of shawarma spots in Hamtramck and Boostan is the best hands down. Chicken cream chops sandwich has a strange name but is excellent--much creamier than a regular shawarma sandwich. The Boostan shawarma is amazing; straightforward but excellent. On top of that it is cheap--maybe the cheapest in Hamtramck. How much is the best shawarma wrap in Hamtown? SIX. DOLLARS! They are so generous with their portions as well, including the non-sandwich dishes. The staff are super friendly as well. Just don't come here expecting a nice place to eat. Get your feed and head to a nearby park.

Delicious food and well portioned!!…read more Everything we ordered was absolutely delectable! Juicy meats, well flavored. We got shawarma wraps, a shawarma combination plate and a kebab plate. Every one was a hit. The tabbouli salad was not our favorite but other than that.. chefs kiss! We also got some baklava for dessert which came in two different shapes and both were a nice treat to end the meal.

I ordered a veggie omelet, a cheese omelet, and bacon. It was... nutrients. Maybe I am missing out…read moreand their sweet stuff is better. The omelets tasted a tiny bit odd on the outside, the hashbrowns smelled weird (those two things means they might need to clean their griddle or ingredients are off), and there was literally, actually, no seasoning. You can't do that with veggie and cheese omelets. It's so terribly bland. And the potatoes didn't seem to contain a hint if salt either. I understand salt to taste, but there should be some to start, as it is not the same trying to incorporate it after cooking as when it is during cooking. With a heavy heart, I must give 2 stars. I ate half the omelet bc I was starving, and my fiancee at half hers bc she was having a blood sugar episode. Faint praise. Maybe I will try them one more time for their sweet things like french toast and waffles.

So, not expecting a long wait, since we were the only one's placing an order at that time. First clue - had to ask the waitress to wipe off the table. Well, at 11:30am, our food had not arrived yet. Getting busy now. Our order - or at least most of it - finally arrived at 11:40am. Waitress Never came back for drink refills during this time or apologize for the wait. Ordered scrambled eggs with cheese - the only item that was truly steaming hot. Cat fish was ok - just luke warm. Oh yeah- ordered the Salmon croquettes as an appetizer. Never arrived. Was told later they didn't have any. Potatoes with peppers and onions were tasty, not cooked too hard. Shrimp & grits were good. Had to remind the waitress that we had ordered them though. The french toast croissant was probably good, if we had an opportunity to eat it while it was hot. The real insult was that the syrup arrived with a layer of water on the top!!!! Never have seen watered down pancake syrup in my life!!!!! Took 15 minutes to get it replaced. Of course by then the French Toast was cold. Ambiance - why on earth do they need a live DJ playing the music way too load. Maybe it is to distract you from the excruciating long wait :-( Without the DJ, they could another table for 4. Have been coming here for years at their different locations. They have always struggled with timely service. Even from scratch, there is no reason orders any order should take nearly 2 hours. Overall, the food is very good. The owner has ALWAYS struggled with getting orders out timely. If anything it has gotten worse. Would STRONGLY recommend: - getting rid of the DJ - adds nothing to your bottom line and uses space that could generate revenue with a table for 4. - get a qualified restaurant busines consultant to assist with timely processing of orders and efficiently turning over tables. - faster service and bussing of tables could easily result in doubling revenue, just from the turnover - train staff - tables should be cleaned before seating customers, should check in every 15 minutes on requests or other needs. There is a 20% gratuity automatically added ti the bill - yet the waitress had the unmitigated gall to suggest a "cash tip". - STOP cutting corners by taking shortcuts like watering down the syrup. Makes one wonder what else you are doing that diminishes the quality of the food. We have patronized many time over the years and brought friends. Sad to say, can't imagine returning. Wishing you well.
