I just realized that the owner flagged my review on google (from several years ago) so that it…read morecan't be seen by anyone else and that irritates me so I'm posting it here. As for an update, he never fixed my iPad or resolved the issue, so I had to buy a totally new iPad. I also filed a report with the BBB but they did a whole lot of nothing about it.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS (unless you want your device completely broken)
I wasn't going to even write a review at first because I was thankful he gave me a full refund. However, in light of recent events, I found it necessary.
The short story is that he tried to fix my cracked iPad screen twice, messed it up terribly both times (like to the point where I could barely use it and the screen was falling off.. yes, literally), and he broke my relatively new $900 iPad so badly that I have to buy a new one because it is now unfixable. It can be fixed, but will cost almost as much as buying a new one.
The long story:
This dude has got to be paying for his reviews or something because it wasn't just me, I've heard a similar stories recently from multiple other people. If I would have known his "shop" was a small shack behind his house, I wouldn't have gone here. I feel that's something he should explain to people. This man is INCREDIBLY unprofessional. He helps customers in pajama pants and has literally raised his voice at me while arguing about how the screen protectors he sells are apparently better than the Zagg screen protector I was using (after he "fixed" it once, so the warranty didn't apply). After he "fixed" my iPad the first time, I quickly started to notice a lot of problems. Mind you, my screen before was lightly cracked and other than the cosmetics of the cracks, there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. It worked perfectly even when cracked. After I got home with it, I started writing on it with my Apple pencil and there were loads of problems. Many areas didn't work at all, others areas would write all jagged and messed up, and my touch ID no longer worked. The next day, the screen started to fall off so badly that I had to hold it on with scotch tape. Yes, I spent $225 to get my iPad fixed and had to tape it back together the next day. I took it back in and he "fixed" it again. Afterwards, the exact same problems were happening. I showed him and he even used my pencil himself and saw the problems, but somehow managed to think it was okay to say "Well, I think that's the best it's gonna get". How unprofessional can you get? Then, he proceeded to take videos of the problems to send to someone else to ask how to fix it. If you have apparently been doing this for years and you have to ask somebody else to fix what you broke, you're in the wrong business. I told him I just wanted a refund so I could take it somewhere else, which thankfully he did give me a refund. But I took it elsewhere and got it replaced, but left with the exact same problems. Come to find out, this dude broke SO many inner components of my iPad that it'll cost hundreds and HUNDREDS to fix. Multiple things on the inside were damaged or completely broken and even my home button is almost unusable and has to be replaced. It's disgusting how absolutely awful of a job this man did, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Since he somehow managed to be accredited by the BBB, I will be filing a complaint with them. Hopefully I won't be stuck buying a brand new $1,200 iPad to replace the one this man broke from his pure and utter lack of knowledge.
Also, the images I've uploaded show the "waviness" of the screen, which heavily contributed to the severe damage, the crack/chip near the home button of the brand new screen he put on (taken literally minutes after leaving) and how the screen was falling off in various places. Completely unacceptable.
