Another great visit to Boost Bowls! Of course I had to order my usual açaí bowl with Nutella, strawberries and pineapple which was delicious. I tried one of their salads this time around and it was really great. All of the ingredients tasted super fresh and their dressings are also made in house. I ordered the Southwest Caesar which has green peppers, corn, black beans, pumpkin seeds, cabbage and romaine lettuce. I added chicken for some added protein. Service was quick and good. Cool, colorful atmosphere inside.

I've been looking for a decent acai bowl place near my mom's house for a while now, and I've found it. We stopped by for lunch this past Saturday after an excellent estate sale a few blocks away (very reasonably priced teacups); my mother has never had acai before so this was a pretty notable moment in time. These have been a regular part of my diet for years now, and both the exterior and interior of this establishment are super reminiscent of the NJ-based Playa Bowls chain - kind of a beachy, almost tiki bar vibe. We came in around 1:15pm, and it was fairly busy but not a significant wait to order or receive our food. The menu is pretty diverse (offering bowls, smoothies, sandwiches, salads, etc.) but it IS limited in terms of the specific types of bowls they offer. A Playa Bowl easily has 20 or so listed bowls, but Boost relies more on their build-your-own bowl concept. Not a negative per se, but something to keep in mind if you typically rely on those pre-designed options. I could tell it was a little overwhelming for my mother (who is not their target demo, to be fair), but she figured it out. I went with an acai bowl, featuring strawberries, bananas and peanut butter. Each bowl comes with granola, but I think they should make that more obvious on the menu; my mother was caught off guard and didn't actually want granola due to some recent dental drama, though I saw a small, almost throwaway line about it. Other bowl places I've been to just list granola as one of the ingredients each time, which is probably the better option. The other mild issue is that they don't have different sizes for the bowls - all of them are basically large. It was a big serving and we didn't totally finish ours. The bowl itself was tasty. I think Playa is a LITTLE better; I'm not sure if it's because Playa has a sweeter acai, which is my preference. I've noticed that my palate isn't insanely pro vegan when it comes to these types of meals, though they do mix in bananas and pineapple to the acai to give it more of a taste. The fruit was fresh and all of the options within the bowl were legit servings - nothing was skimped on. For some reason I also thought it was a good idea to order avocado toast. I don't know why - bowls are filling. I went with the Avoseed Toast, which was good. I think if I did it again, I'd opt out of the balsamic glaze since it's such a strong flavor and always seems to crowd out the other ingredients. But it's a generous helping (which was definitely a theme of this visit) and I didn't come close to finishing it because I basically ate a meal first. That's on me. The service was really good. As mentioned, the employees behind the counter did have other customers on the premises and were clearly dealing with numerous orders at the same time as ours. Even with that though, it took less than 10 minutes to get everything, which was reasonable to me under the circumstances. I'm starting to be much more aware of how my parents are treated by staff at places like this as they're getting older and aren't necessarily "ideal fits" for this type of business model, but the girl behind the counter was very nice and patient. Thumbs up in that regard. Very solid, healthy option if you don't feel like shoving the nearby excellent Detroit-style pizza at Good Old Days down your gullet. Just don't order two meals for yourself.

Today was my first time ever trying a boost bowl. The location - Queen St Newtown, CT. I'll start with the Covid protocols - there was more than one bottle of hand sanitizer, markings on the floor for six feet apart, customers and workers wear masks, workers wore gloves and their was plexiglass at the register - nice and safe. There is a beautiful looking menu on the wall next to the register. The only issue with the menu location is as customers came in and had to stand in a certain spot for distance purposes the ones further away cannot see the menu. Not sure if this was an option and it was just not offered to me. But a paper menu to look at while waiting may have helped with the flow. I ordered a bowl with a banana base, walnuts, coconut flakes, and nutella drizzle. It was Big, Awesome, and tasted so good. Hope I can go back every weekend or every other weekend.

I'm so surprised this place isn't always packed! So many options for smoothie bowls and other health foods. Great vibe and super friendly staff.

This place is sooo yummy and such a vibe, exactly what Newtown needed! A different, healthy, unique, trendy spot to grab breakfast, lunch or an afternoon treat with options for all dietary restrictions, keto, gluten allergy, dairy free, vegetarian and of course vegans!! Although my family and friends with no dietary restrictions at all are also big fans of Boost Bowl. This spot has a different ambiance than other cafes or restaurants in Connecticut and I wish we saw more of this!! The decor is beautiful, it's super chill, incredibly CLEAN, spacious and comfortable. The smoothies and shakes are wonderful! You can really get creative with the menu. Make your own açaí bowl or any kind of bowl for that matter! I took a risk and tried something new, the avocado banana bowl, I wasn't sure how to imagine it tasting but I knew that I love frozen bananas. The girls working were super helpful and both recommended that base when I asked about it. One of the girls actually told me what she usually gets on top of that base and I just went with her recommendation and I'm thrilled that I did! I was worried I wouldn't know how to top the avocado base bc I didn't know how it tasted but I knew I wanted almond butter so it was perfect that's what she said is in her usual order. The girls were patient with me and answered all my questions even when there were many other customers in and out placing orders and picking up orders to go. What a great lunch place, if I worked nearby I'd love coming to Boost Bowls and picking up for my coworkers and myself. Super rad! The artwork inside is dope, the paint in the bathrooms is so fun they must have had a ball doing that and I love all the quotes- I'm a big neon sign girl! Thanks so much Boost Bowl for the satisfying lunch my parents and I had earlier today. Must be such a great spot to work with a menu you'd most likely never get sick of and the health benefits are insane! Yay, welcome to Newtown we're happy to have you!

My salad was pretty unexciting and the chicken was dry. Too bad.

I walked in with the intent of getting a smoothie, which I did, but also ended up purchasing the shrimp wrap & a Mac & cheese dog. The seating is in abundance, with the choice of booths, tables & high tables. The decor is hip & chic with their colorful painting & graphics directly on the walls. I would have sat to enjoy the ambiance but I had the furbaby in the car. I went with the Pure Bliss smoothie & it hit the spot. I definitely tasted the fresh ginger & also chunks of the fruit. They don't have a designated dog smoothie, like I've seen at other places, but you do have the option of building your own. In addition to smoothies, they also offer acai, oatmeal & dragonfruit bowls. There's something for everyone! If you get the cheese dogs, get extra napkins. This is isn't your typical topping. This is a whole lot of mac & cheese shells drowning a 9" hotdog. I was in cheese heaven. The wrap was also tasty. I without a doubt loved the corn dusted medium sized shrimp. With all the healthy ingredients, there was not a feeling of guilt in site as a ate every crumb. The side are their house potato chips. Normally, I'm the oddball who does not enjoy this kind but I found my hand dipping in the bag multiple times. They are well salted & peppered, no soggy ones included. There menu is so extensive, it'll take a few trips to get through it all. No complaints here.
