Thank you for making my chicken after a very long day so easy. I have a two queen room, with very comfortable beds. The room has a dresser, mini fridge, microwave coffee maker, hairdryer, and Desk for me to work at when I'm not in the office. There's a spacious closet and the bathroom is large and not cramped. The continental breakfast has everything you need or want and is included in your room price. And I love the social happy hour, the pool, the hot tub and gym are all great amenities. Their toiletries selection, snack and drinks selection are more affordable than some convenient stores. That saved me when I didn't have a car and realized I forgot several items. Saint Charles location is in the middle of its own little town and there are restaurants and stores all around it so you really don't even need a car. Only saw 2 people working the entire hotel in 2 days. Hotel needs basic maintenance. Black mold in the showers. Pillow and mattress awful. Ice on 1st floor only with a small bucket. More rooms than parking. Asked for a parking pass as signs every other space that say cars would be towed. Was told that was just to discourage restaurant parking. They never tow anybody. The Hilton brand is becoming a joke. This hotel was not worth the $500 plus I paid. Super disappointed. Just beware if you choose it. Pretend it's a Super 8, they do.

This place even has an indoor pool! The room of course is new, so it looks stunning and feels comfortable. We were in a first floor suite The only negative is that it was a handicap/ADA suite so when you take a shower, water really gets ALL over the bathroom. The AC control seemed broken when we came in, but after adjusting it a bit, the AC fired on. Overall, it's a great place to stay if you're in the St Charles/St Peters area.

Whatever housekeeping used as an industrial strength deodorizer to mask whatever odor they were trying to cover up was worse than a room full of plus sized ladies marinating in cheap perfume. It appeared they had sprayed the bed with it but at worst case it could have been from the previous guest. No other rooms were available and it was too late to cancel so I toughed it out hoping not to get sick. In the morning, I spoke with the clerk at the front desk and asked that the room be redone without scented sheets and pillowcases The guy took all the info and I also messaged the day manager about it as well while I was working a convention. So, when I returned that evening I entered the room only to discover nothing had been done and it still reeked to high heaven. So I went to the desk and told Anne, the woman on duty about it and invited her to go down and have a sniff. She said she couldn't leave as she had no help, but did get to work right away contacting the manager and arranging an available room for me. She showed me that all the notes were right there and that the morning clerk had informed the manager who subsequently informed housekeeping which is where the ball was dropped. Anyway, I got into another room that did not stink thanks to Anne's patient and persistent efforts. She is a five-star employee, whoever ignored instructions to clean the room a one-star employee. Companies could use more employees like Anne and fewer of whoever the skiver is.

I arrived early and my room was available, which I was thankful for; however, the early check in fee was a little steep but at least they were able to charge less due to the agreement with the conference organizer. The last day of the conference I asked to have a late checkout as I wanted to be able to go back to my room after 12 pm and change clothes. I was told that for a late checkout it'd be a charge of half the room rate. That was way too much. I wasn't going to stay long, I just wanted to keep my clothes in the room until I could come back and change before heading out the door to the airport. I'd recommend this resort to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in the St. Louis area and look forward to my next trip...I'll just make sure not to check in early, or ask for a late checkout.

We'll start with the bad and end with the good. Getting into this place from a busy side street connecting a thoroughfare with a Bass Pro & Texas Roadhouse is already a bit dodgy. Combine that with a massive speed bump to get into the lot and you've already encountered a significant challenge. The parking is ample enough. But the walk in under the canopy was a bit ripe with it being warm out and birds living up in there. The front desk is right inside though, and the elevators are only a few steps to the right. This hotel is very aged and some of the fixtures look ancient. The king bed in the room was so rough that I could only sleep for about 2-3 hours at a time and gave up after about 6-7 total. And the TV was smaller than the monitors I use for work. The good? The front desk folks replaced the key card that my car decided to pull into oblivion, no questions asked and no charges given. The breakfast was the usual good stuff of eggs, bacon, biscuits & gravy, waffles, juices, some fruits, & pastries. The location is great if you're staying in the area as it's right off the highway, has historic old town St. Charles right down the street, and is smushed between a Texas Roadhouse and a Denny's with a Walgreens & Mobile gas station within walking distance. All in all, one of the worst Best Westerns I've stayed at, but still serviceable and could be 4+ stars with better beds, removing the speed bump, some bigger TVs, and updated fixtures.

Everything seemed fine until the night of July 2, when I received a call after 9 PM from what appeared to be a personal number. The caller, who identified herself as a hotel employee or manager, informed me that due to a "maintenance issue" she didn't expect to be resolved in time, she needed to move us to a different room. She initially offered a King Suite, which I declined because we needed separate beds. She then said the only other option was a standard 2 Queen room, explaining that there were only four suites and the others had been booked "months ago." I couldn't verify that, but I distinctly remember seeing multiple suites available when I made my reservation. I can't prove it but the timing and explanation felt suspicious. To make matters worse, the call was clearly made from her home. In the background, people were shouting and a dog was barking loudly. She began yelling at them with the phone still at her mouth so I was essentially being shouted at. When I asked her to stop yelling into the phone, she launched into a personal rant about her family. Honestly, I didn't need or want to hear that. We discussed room options, and I reluctantly agreed to a ground floor 2 Queen room. She tried to frame it as a favor, saying I'd be saving money since the suite was more expensive. Of course, I already knew that, the suite had more space, an extra bathroom, and a separate sitting area, which is exactly why I booked it. She said she'd "discount" the new room to $150 base rate. After the call, I logged into the Best Western site to review the updated reservation. The new room didn't meet our needs; it lacked even a comfortable chair to relax in after a long drive. Just a couple of wooden chairs at a table. For a leisure trip, this downgrade felt like a deal-breaker, so I canceled the reservation. Out of curiosity, I checked the current rate for the same type of room she moved us to and it was listed at $136 base rate. So her "discounted" rate of $150 was actually more expensive than the standard rate I could've booked myself. That felt incredibly dishonest. At that point, I was glad I canceled. I no longer trusted the hotel or its staff. I'm disappointed we had to cancel our trip altogether; we could've found another hotel, but the experience left a bad taste in our mouths, and we've decided to stay home for the holiday instead.
