Boondocks is a cool little dive bar. If Meghan is there rest assure you'll be taken care of. The line cooks are also very cool. You'll find them bringing out food occasionally but they always have the food out pretty quick. Security guys are cool if you're cool. If Meghan the bartender isn't there just walk out. If not you'll have to deal with the other 2 bartenders who'll jump up on stage during Wednesday night karaoke. They'll ignore you if you're not in their clique or at very least their line of sight. I came to this place last night with my boyfriend looking to have a good time. As we approached the door the security guard Oscar asked to see our ID's. After showing him our ID's we walked in and took a seat at the bar. We were sitting for maybe about a minute or so before the extremely rude bartender Stephanie approached us and said I quote "what do you want" I looked at my boyfriend in disbelief because I've personally never been spoken to that way by any bartender or server. Before we could even answer she turned around and went to help another customer because we didn't answer fast enough for her. She then comes back over to us and says again I quote "what do you guys want" I then say we would like two skinny margaritas. She says "I need to see both of your ID's" I then say to her "we already showed the bouncer our ID's when we first came in" she says "I don't care who or what you showed you need to show me or I won't serve you" I politely said "I don't have a problem re showing you our ID's but I have a problem with the way you are speaking to us so we are just going to leave" we proceed to get up from the bar and walk out. I see the security guard who we originally showed our ID's to and asked him was it typical protocol for him to check our ID's and also for the bartender to check our ID's after he's already checked them and he said no. Stephanie then proceeds to leave the bar unattended to follow behind me and my boyfriend yelling at us. Even the security guard Oscar was stunned by her behavior having to ask her to go back inside, since she followed us all the way outside. I'm still so perplexed by her actions. She treated us like we're some kind of criminals. For this reason I will never return to this establishment. The thing is we really didn't have a problem re-showing our ID's to her, the problem was the aggressively rude way she was speaking to us. I know for a fact that other people have a had problems with this particular girl. I really don't understand how she is still working here. I've tried to call the number on yelp to speak to upper management but unfortunately the number listed doesn't work. The staff at this bar is on point from the owners on down. The food, entertainment, and service staff are amazing, and the bartenders are the star attractions. In response to Jorge. Your one-star review has nothing to do with the service at the bar. You have a personal issue with the sub contracted security guards who threw you out after your ongoing disrespect and threats of violence. After you were removed, you called Corona PD to investigate your allegations of assault. Upon conclusion of their investigation, you were subsequently trespassed from the property. Unhappy with their decision, you then proceeded to beligerently exclaim that your dad is a lawyer and "he's gonna sue" the officers and "have their badges." You were ordered to leave multiple times but refused. Your friends tried to get you to leave, but you stuck around to continue shouting expletives and threats to the police, all the while disregarding their lawful commands for you to depart. You even physically pushed the female who was trying to help you get into the car. Those officers were beyond patient with you. Your actions alone caused you to be arrested that night. You should've just left when you were asked to. The security company is a separate sub contracted entity that is there to ensure the safety of everyone inside. Just like any other establishment frequented by adults, if you are a security risk to the safety of the establishment or the people therein, you will be asked or made to leave. read more

We were there yesterday during the day around lunchtime for a birthday party. I was concerned about food options seeing that it's a bar, but was blown away by the quality and options for food!! They brought out amazing veggies platters, chips and salsa, monster cheesesticks, wings and killer potato skins!! Our servers/bartenders for the day were Heather and Regina and they were amazing!! Omg no words they were on top of everything, made tasty drinks, helped with everything, had great smiles and were so nice! I only wish we lived closer because we would for sure become regulars! In case you guys want to confirm why the spike in covid cases In riverside and in our households, Boondocks has your answer! They don't require masks inside at all. Not one person, not even the employees wear masks. Also, they let you know managers aren't onsite so whatever they say goes. They also cut alcohol you paid for after your second round. First round is strong, second round they cut you short and you have to call them out about it for them to correct it. You ever need time out and away from anyone that knows you! Nothing screaming or yelling and you just need to be in a dark room with a cool chilled drink? This is it and with what appeared to have real food. I love lampost pizza down the street but sometimes the big family and kids running around like wild chickens all over the place. Frankly it stresses me out! This location seemed very chilled and the local appeared to be mellow to new comers. Last night, my friends wanted to go to a bar for drinks and I wanted food because I haven't ate since noon. Before approaching this bar, I said to them "Something terrible is going to happen, I just know." We go inside and I ask if the kitchen is open. They said yes but just fried food. I ask the bartender "How many wings does an order come with?" She says "It's one size fits all." I said "Okay but how many is that?" She says "It's one size." Again, I say "So is that like 6, 7, 8, 9 wings per order?" She says "It's 7 or 8 wings." At this point, Im just over talking about wings. I order the "7 or 8 wing" meal as does my friend. This is at 10:02pm because the time is on my receipt, which will come into play a little later. 15 mins go by, no wings. 20 mins go by, no wings. At 25 mins, we see a couple baskets up on the counter. We think those are ours. Come to find out, those baskets have been sitting there for God knows how long but weren't our wings. I'm basically sitting there with a sad clown face waiting for 7 or 8 wings. At this point, I would have probably just settled for like, 1 wing. At 30 mins, I begin the walk of doom up to the counter. "Excuse me, do you have an ETA on our wings?" She looks at me like she left the water running at her house and just remembered. She puts her hand to her chest and says "Oh my god! I forgot about your wings!" So Im left standing there with two thoughts in my head. One, I knew this would happen. I just knew it. Second, is this on me? I waited 30 mins to ask her about the wings when I should have probably asked sooner. Also, this is no way on me. She walks to the back to "hopefully" put our wings in. I walk back to our table with my head down and at that moment, our table knew what happened. I broke the news to them and they just laughed directly in my face. Another 10 mins pass by, which is already 40 mins from order time and we're talking about maybe they give us more wings because she forgot our order. It's now been 45 mins and we see one guy head back to the kitchen. Maybe he's back there because of our wings? I have no idea at this point but whatever. I literally could have ordered my wings, drove home, took a shower, taken a 10 min nap, and drove back to pick these up. The guy went to the kitchen to refill the ICE MACHINE, not check on our wings. All I can do is put my head down on the table and wish this had never happened. My friend is just laughing in my face while my other friend is taking pictures of it. I look at my watch, it's 10:52pm. I look at the receipt and it says ordered at 10:02pm. It's now been 50 mins. FINALLY, a man comes out of the kitchen with our wings! Did they get the order right? How many wings am I really getting? 7? 8? Maybe more? Are they hot or cold from sitting there? All these questions are about to be answered. He sits the wings down I begin to count... I count 8 and ask my friend how many he got. He says 7. So she was right, you might get 7 or 8. My order was correct but only because my friend secretly went up to the bar and told her our order again so the man in the back wouldn't pour every ounce of sauce on our wings. I was hoping to get a couple more because I've only been sitting there for 50 mins or maybe even discounted price? I guess it was too much to ask from this bar. She might never know what these wings did to my life and that's why Im here. I will remember this for the rest of my life, as it goes down as top 10 most miserable things. I sat in bed last night, thinking about my choices. I knew this would happen but I thought "Meh, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt." NEVER AGAIN. Pretty good pub! I used to live in an apartment nearby and it was a great spot to walk to after work and grab a pint or 3 and dinner. Food is your standard bar menu which is good if you're going for that. I'd recommend looking at what they're evening specials are, they are spot on with their Shepherds Pie, Beef Cabbage, and other Irish dishes. The only thing that keeps it from getting 5 stars from me is just the interior decorations. I'm not saying it needs a complete remodel job but some tables wobble, pool sticks are bad condition, and they can capitalize so much more on the Irish theme for the bar! I'm going to start this review with security.... All though I have a great relationship with everyone here at boondocks,and I can't say anything negative because we are regulars. I'm sad to say my husband was treated like compete shit by this 23-28 yr old Mexican young kid. This is saint Patricks day and they were extremely busy. This young Mexican kid all day 2-6:20 pm kept pushing on my husband. I'm upset as this young kid kicked my husband and my sister out. I was in the restroom. When I came out I was confused and embarrassed as he already kicked my husband out. I will say my husband is a big guy and tried his best to stay close to the bar. The line to the bathroom was lining up against the wall and it was tight. This is why it was so embarrassing as this damn kid security kid kept pushing on my husband. Well I will say this my husband asked him to stop pushing up on him. He even told this kid he had his back. This review is more less for the owners. Your staff and bartenders are amazing and we love your security, but this Mexican kid has Big Dick Energy. I can say that because I'm Mexican. I'm giving you 5because we love your business and your staff, but not happy at all how this kid handled my husband and my sister. Everytime we've gone there she has always been very attentive and always gives outstanding service. She is super friendly not just to us but to everyone she serves. We've been there on a packed night with her being the only waitress there and she was able to tend to everyone on her own with a good attitude. This place was out dated for sure and as soon as I sat on the bar area all I could smell was Tabasco. Music was good dont get me wrong but the DJ kept announcing it was his birthday and wanted guest to buy him drinks. As we are enjoying our night I see the bartenders drinking on the job whether someone was buying it for them or they simply made a drink for then selfs. IT DOESNT TAKE AWAY, from the bartender that was helping us out she was very friendly. She did give me a wrong drink but she corrected her self on it. When the night was ending I had stepped away to use the restroom and my partner stayed at the bar and when I came back I noticed my beer wasn't there. My beer was still half full, they never did a LAST CALL for drinks and when my partner noticed it was too late to grab it.
