Bar staff is always so friendly and not your typical bitter bartenders. Great atmosphere and good people to enjoy drinking with.

For being close to my house, this is an okay bar some nights. Took off a star for the SUPER weak drinks the blonde bartender chick makes (she's there on Saturdays...either make it a doubleshot or avoid at all costs). The other bartenders are good on other nights. Added a star for their super spicy fresh salsa, so it evens out. Karaoke on Saturdays. Other nights are pretty dead. My friends, boyfriend and I all went to Boondocks to celebrate St Patrick's Day. When we got there, as expected, we waited in line for almost an hour to get our drinks. Chanise, our bartender was beyond slammed. She was still awesome and I definitely felt for her. Boondocks was extremely understaffed and left their workers in a crappy situation, however Chanise still went above and beyond to try to attend to us. We were about ready to leave and then Christina approached us. If it wasn't for her we would have left. She was on top of it! Our drinks were coming out as fast as we could drink them. We love her !! We will be back to see Christina and Chanise. They made our St Patrick's day the best. read more

great bar for being in the middle of no where. Average selection of beer, interesting selection of older women (35's in up) not very diverse crowd mainly Caucasian but i had a good time there, they had a live ban playing (no cover) they played 80's and 90's music and i thing they do karaoke too. The bar is a little on the small side when you walk in you pretty much seen the whole thing. Came because the reviews were good... But I've had nothing close to that experience. It seems there's only one person bartending AND serving. And she can't even do it well. She's walked past our table, multiple times without acknowledging that we're even here. We had to go up to the food window to ask the cook to make us something to eat. My friend went there to meet a date. A bunch of biker chicks tried to bully her out because they thought she was middle eastern. She's full blood Italian and has a heavy accent. Well after she fend them off a little later one of girls (not sure if bartender or biker chick) came and gave my friend a "drink on the house" They drugged her!! She got dizzy, sick, fell down nobody helped her. She passed out behind her car for hours. Her kids said she kept calling them saying she doesn't know where she's at. HORRIBLE!! read more

The first time I went with S and we waited forever and I didn't understand what was the big deal about this place. I don't really stray from my usual dishes and I know this place has more selection than other places, but it's not a selling point for me. I decided to come back here again with K and we have been back here numerous of times. SERIOUSLY. K is like the only person I know that does not mind the trip to Queens to eat good food. We fell in love with their dish here. It tastes so fresh and 100% times better than any where else. They were nice enough to let K and I order directly off the paper when we arrived there like 3:30 pm. No more carts just strictly made to order. So that freaking Dish was damn good. read more

The beer selection is decent, but if you plan on eating here, I suggest you eat beforehand, especially if in your case, you're a vegetarian or vegan and decide to try the veggie sandwich that is listed on the menu. The sandwich was basically a salad within your choice of bread; all ingredients raw: thick cut lettuce, tomato, mushrooms, green bell pepper, raw cucumbers, and not a single drop of moisture within this breaded salad. As a vegetarian, I don't mind a hearty, raw salad, but in this case, I feel a "veggie" sandwich served at an Irish Pub would promise something of a more spectacular and developed nature than what I unfortunately was served at my recent visit to Boondocks. read more

The guest service has went down hill... Waited over 15 minutes to get a drink. The bartenders were focused more on the already drunk guest at the bar instead of the new guest that were sober ready to spend money. We most likely will never go back... This is by far one of my favorite pubs to frequent. The bartender Megan did an amazing job today serving me and four of my co-workers a special lunch and drinks. She is very Peppy and always has a smile on her face. We had amazing food it was a special menu day cooked by the chef Chris and he really outdid himself this time. Everything he makes is so delicious and flavorful and has wonderful portion sizes for all of his menu items. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a good lunch spot! read more

I've heard good things about this place so I went to check it out. I was a bit dissapointed. The place was packed so that indicated to me that thr must be some appeal that is drawing in the people. I was at a loss to find it. When u first walk in the music is so loud it's overpowering. I love loud music but this was almost deafening. It was an older crowd which was exactly what I was looking for. 30's to 50's I'd say. The drinks were overpriced in my opinion. The male to female ratio was tipped in the female's advantage. Terrific improvements have been made at this local bar. Young friendly staff and much cleaner compared to my last visit about a year+ ago.

I recently started going back to this bar and I must say i was very impressed with the service and the people . Went on 4/7/2016 with a friend just to get a drink and ended up buying rounds for the bar. It was my way of saying thank you for a great time. The bartender was awesome. Damn, I can't remember her name but Haley ( the bartender for 4/12/16 Taco Tuesday who was also awesome) told me but I still for got it. Monica Maybe? Food is awesome. Haley recommended the Mai Mai tacos and I ended up eating 3. The locals are awesome especially the " White Rapper". Always singing the old school songs. I am a regular at Boondocks, LOVE the place! I go there ALL the time, at LEAST 7-8 times a month, minimum! Here's the thing. There's a review I just read that's really long and really negative about the bar, and, since I was THERE that night (it was a busy friday or saturday night), I can't help but elaborate. The young lady posting is an absolutely beautiful blonde. I have seen her and her friend (I want to say cousin or brother, but I could be wrong) there before. Unfortunately, I have seen her friend kicked out of there before, too. He has a tendency to get drunk and then get REALLY offensive with women there, touching, grinding on, etc. And for some reason he picks married women..... read more

I live walking distance from this bar and recently turned 21 so this has been an obvious destination for myself as well as my friends to attend, however, each time we go, we leave disappointed. The staff is great and the bar is fine, it's just the live bands that they choose to have at their bar. Don't get me wrong, I love live music, but the structure of the bar wasn't built to host live entertainment and results in extremely loud noise to the point where you have to scream in order to communicate. read more

On their website it says they have live music but maybe the day we went they just didn't. It was a Saturday night and it was pretty empty but I really enjoyed the vibe. When we walked up people were outside smoking and they were really friendly and nice. Inside the bar the bartender was really attentive and she makes really good drinks. They have $1 pool on Saturday night and there was a DJ. The place was pretty empty but I can tell if it were packed and be a really cool party spot. I'll definitely check them out again. read more
