Amazing food and service. Tender brisket juicy fall off the bone ribs. Don't forget to try the loaded potato casserole

We finally made an effort to come to The Shed's original location on our drive to the Pass. On a…read morehot summer afternoon, we were relieved for big fans and cold water, and hopefully tasty food. My smoked chicken sandwich was good and full of meat. To the point I needed a fork and knife to finish eating it. My side of collard greens were good but missing the smoked turkey flavor. My husband got a sandwich and 2 sides combo and had significantly less meat than I did in his sandwich. Not sure if that's because I ordered just a sandwich and 1 side vs a combo. The food came out fast enough and I believe the value of food received for the amount paid was good, but I was expecting more flavor. Overall, I don't think we'll be rushing back given the proximity to the start/ end of our drive.

The time has come, unfortunately, to update my review. My previous was from 2011 though I have been…read moregoing to The Shed off and on since 2008. As my last review said, I really use to love it. Food was good, full of flavor. Didn't matter if it was brisket or babyback ribs. But somewhere along the way, the prices got higher and higher, but the quality got less and less. Brisket getting tougher. Ribs being gritty from seasoning not cooked in. Use to, except for a few options, BBQ sauce was an add on. Now everything is covered in it. I think i can't give 1 star because part of me enjoys the sweet BBQ nostalgia of this spot. Bit despite living a short distance from this location, I can't justify a $40 rack of babyback ribs that won't hold up to The Shed of old. I hope they find their passion and focus again, the coast needs good BBQ! But sadly I feel it's holding on to a legacy and TV popularity instead of keeping the course that got them started.

I'm not sure where to begin with this review, because we very much wanted to enjoy this restaurant,…read morebut it was not a very good experience in any sense. We were in Hattiesburg for the night and found Murky Waters through their website, which indicated through their menu, photos, prices, and their suggestion that reservations should be made that this was elevated southern barbecue. It is not. Which is fine, if that's what you're serving and charging for. But here's what we got: "Smoked ahi tuna dip" = canned tuna salad ($12.95, served with Keebler Club crackers) Ham & cheese po' boy- it was just a ham and cheese sandwich on a long roll, and the roll was cold ($13.95) My son liked the brisket, but said the Mac & cheese was not good. My family got refills on their drinks, but my drink came in a smaller glass and I didn't get a refill. We all got soda, so I'm not sure why. The restaurant is pleasant, but we were seated directly in front of the window unit air conditioner so we had to decide which one of us would be the most uncomfortable while eating. The bill was over $100. After discussing it, we all felt that we would have felt better about the entire thing if the food had been more fairly represented and priced. If you go, don't order the tuna.
