SCAM ARTIST ALERT!!!! These guys are absolute cons and hacks. I paid a couple grand for them to install a completely new stereo system in my car. After it was done, I could tell something was off. I removed some of the tweeters and speakers (which I bought from them, and which they installed themselves) and found that they had already been marked "BAD" on the back with Sharpie pen. So the jerks at Boomer's charged me over $2,000 for parts and labor to install BROKEN speakers that THEY KNEW were broken. The customer service is also sorely lacking. I know people in Boston can be a little rough around the edges, but these guys are real jerks - very disrespectful and condescending. They act superior to the customers... buddy, you are 40+ years old and you work in a car stereo store. Get real. On top of that, the prices are terrible. I had just bought a new Fiat 500 and wanted to do some upgrades to the stereo and change the horn to a more European sound. I was really nervous about anybody doing work to my new car - what if they mess up the trim or the wiring? I visited a number of car audio shops and settled on Boomer. Matt was the first one to really take the time to listen carefully to my music in the car and he asked great questions about what I wanted. I did not want to spring for a big system, Matt didn't try to sell me, and proposed a smart solution that was reasonably priced. I returned the following week and the work was done in a day, I was thrilled with the results, the stereo sounded great and the horn is better than expected. The work was immaculate and there was no sign they had touched anything. The following day the USB connection in the car stopped recognizing the iPod and so I brought the car back to Boomer. In the middle of 2009, I decided I needed Bluetooth hands-free in my Audi...after getting a loaner that had the hookup installed. Audi assured me it couldn't be done, at least not with OEM components. This led to my online search, which suggested a Parrot kit could be installed, with an aftermarket CAN to utilize the worthless buttons on my steering wheel. I called and spoke with Matt, who invited me in. We found the parts online, and the install took place that weekend. It works, without a problem...going through my car stereo, and using the buttons on my steering wheel. I have a 2005 Highlander that I wanted to install a Parrot system so that I could use Bluetooth to talk on the phone before I moved to NY. After reading the reviews, and meeting with Matt to go over different options, I decided that Boomer was the best choice for me. What was supposed to be a 2 hour install ended up being a little bit of a nightmare. Somehow a wrong wire was cut and it compromised the airbag safety system in my car. Although I was not thriiled with this, accidents happen so I can understand that, but it did bring the 2 hour install to more than 8 hours over a few days. As miserable as this was, the guys at Boomer could not have been nicer. They worked tirelessly to fix the issue, and in the process got me a rental car to use while they worked with a Toyota dealer to fix the problem. After fixing my car, the drove it to my house to return it and it was delivered to me with a full tank of gas, some cash back for the inconvenience and an absolutely beautiful bouquet of flowers. I would say that you should plan on leaving your car there fr any install, as they are very busy and it seems can be a little off in their time estimation. However, I would recommend them to anyone and certainly go back myself, as I felt my car was respected and that they worked harder than I can imagine anyone else would to keep their customers happy and deliver a good product. Matt and Mark were great and really worked hard to rectify every issue. Kobe (sp? It's been a while...) was amazing as the one who often was on the receiving end of my frustrations. So I 100% do not know anything about cars. Any of my prior reviews that have anything to do with automotives clearly show that I am capable of driving a car, but that should be the extent of it. A few months ago, the drivers door speaker in my old Jeep XJ cut in and out depending on if i slammed the door shut or not. Then one day the speaker went completely because of the wiring. I still had all of my other speakers, but with the one closest to me blown out, it was like being the loser kid in the recess yard while everyone else is having fun around you, but at a distance. So on a whim, I pulled into this place and went inside. Not only did they not judge me when I said "the thingy in the door doesn't make the sound come out," THEY KNEW WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT IMMEDIATELY. 10/10 would go back if I have a problem with this place. I dropped it off at 1:30p and it was done within 2 hours. Can't argue with that kind of turn around. My car stereo stopped working after an incident with the hood flying up and the insurance would cover a new stereo if it could be proven to be related. about one minute into looking at my stereo, the guy helping me said "I bet it's money in the CD player", after noticing the carseat in the back. I was bummed because that meant that I had to pay but hey, I want my radio/CD player to work. They took about 20 minutes to take the thing out, dump out a weeks worth of toll $. Lesson learned -- don't let the toddler in the front seat with toll change sitting out-- not even for a second-- those little hands are FAST! I went to get a car starter because there was a Groupon. It's pointless to even use the Groupon because they still charge you more than the Groupon so you're still paying full price. I had my car serviced for a remote starter that took more than the time they told me it was supposed to be finished. Got there once they told that my car was ready and waited another two hours because there were features that my remote starter that they didn't add or knew how. 4 days later my remote starter doesn't work. They tried to make it seem like it was me who kept pressing the buttons when they attempted themselves. Overall I wasted my time purchasing a remote starter from them that doesn't even work. I ask for a refund and the guy up front was like for labor you may not get refunded? Labor? What did you do? My remote starter does not work. He called the owner and I got my full refund. I have been a repeat customer of Boomer Audio for the past year. Since I am from NJ I did not know any shops in the area. I stumbled onto Boomer searching google and gave Matt a call. The guys that work there are great and personable, and always help you with any questions you have. I took a viper 791XV system to them and they installed and covered it with a warranty. It began to have issues and Matt switched out the problem with no extra charge. They made sure to get it right and keep me happy. Had the combined 5 disk cd player & ac/heater controls acting up on a 2008 Subaru Outback. The dealer wanted big bucks to just replace the unit, all because the defroster fan stopped working. I decided to send to Japan for the after market unit and find a installer here. I've used Boomer Boston before, very happy. They installed the unit and gave the blower fan a whack and it started working. Saved me a couple of hundred bucks not having to get the defroster fixed. So instead of the old 5 CD radio combo, I had a new Pioneer AVH-2550NEX with Bluetooth so now my Waze works on the screen. Probably the same money minus the defroster fix. I had used this business in the past with a couple of cars and had no problem until there was one. After multiple attempts to correct a remote starter issue which led to my transmission being ruined. After picking my car up all my dashboard was lit up like x-mass. Prior to his attempts at rewiring my starter I had never had an issue or a problem with my car or him. The blatant disrespect and avoidance of the owner Matt Feroli. I ULTIMATELY had the car checked out at the dealership & a transmission specialist lee Myles in Dorchester which traced the problem to the starter even had Matt after multiple tries come down & undo his work. I hadn't known the transmission shop owner or workers prior but they were familiar with Matt Feroli as well as he to them which I thought would've been a great situation was I wrong. This man instead having a conversation & figuring out a solution he lied over & over to me and the shop avoiding there request to explain what they discovered. Months had passed & I was forced to sue him in "COURT" he PATHETICALLY tried to explain why he had avoided me for months but it just made him look worse he picked right backup in court and continued the lies about his attempts to contact the shop. I had new Headlights and a HID Kit,Fog lights with Hid kit and led Mirrors to be installed on my 2013 Toyota Rav4 and This Guy dave who I talked too over the phone and told him I have all of the parts for my car,so he tells me to come down they will give me a good price to do the work. get down there,No place to park your car and another guy comes out and tells me $400 to install headlights and $150 to install Mirrors. too pricy for me. This worked out amazingly. The FOB for my wife's car stopped working. Replacing the battery did nothing for me. Called around for a replacement FOB and received quotes of $250....which is obviously bananas. Since I was tired of starting her car for her every morning in the winter, I called boomers on a recommendation from my autobody guy in Southie, and they took amazing care of us. Remote Starter installed for $315 total (after taxes) and we ended up getting two FOBs. Originally, I asked for a FOB that would also open/close the side door of the van, and they said that might cost $40 extra, but when I got the bill, it was just the original $299 plus tax that they quoted me for the remote starter install. So, we got a remote starter and 2 new FOBs for the price that I was quoted for just a FOB replacement. They took my car the next day after I called. Dropped it off at 9:30 and they called at 2pm when it was done, as quoted. Limited interaction with the guys there, but my impression is that they know their business...well. read more

These guys are AWESOME. I called around to a few places before I found them and was completely impressed with their friendliness and professionalism over the phone. When I went in, John worked with me very patiently to find a unit that fit all my needs (wanted iphone, bluetooth, old ipod compatibility, etc). I got a great price on a Parrot unit and they installed it that day. After a while I noticed some issues with the unit itself (not the installation) and it's compatibility with the iphone. Because of the new iphone OS many features on the Parrot didn't work well. I called Boomer and they said to come back in and they'd do whatever they had to in order to make me happy. We inspected the unit, and they suggested we try a completely different unit, installed it that day, and it works perfectly. No hassle at all. Their professionalism and customer service makes all the difference in the world to me. With any complicated service or product, things are always going to go wrong sometimes. Dave did a great job of answering all my questions and setting the correct expectation for how the appointment would go. I lost the key to remote start my car, this place is the WORST! not only did this place not keep the appointment I made a week earlier, they looked at my car and ended up removing something in the system that costed me an additional $100 to fix on top of getting the remote key that I needed. Worse service ever. Made An appointment and wasn't seen for over an hour, then told 3 hours that there wasn't time to get the work done that I needed with no alternatives or options. When I took my car to my dealership to get it fixed they found that something was missing didn't the unit and that it was tempered with that caused damage that needed $100 to fix. So not only did boomers Waste my entire day without doing the work needed, but they ended up COSTing me $100 in damage!! I dropped off my car for a simple remote starter.. So I thought. I got a call my car was finished at 4pm. Got there at 4:30. They took my money and I stood outside in the parking lot while the worker was clearly not done and struggling with finishing my car it was 5pm. The next day my car wouldn't shut off.. I called and they told me to bring it back. The next day my husband returns the car and waits for it to be fixed. When he gets home the car stater is still not working. On his way back again the hood on my car flies open on Morrissey Blvd the idiots never shut it tight. Broken hinges and both fenders damaged. He's furious to say the least and lucky to be alive.
