Miguel came out today and was able to repair the same issue with 2 windows. He didn't balk at my request to wear a mask and took off his shoes - much appreciated! He was able to repair and explained things as he went along, then asked if I understood what he was saying and what I need to do in the future, so the issue doesn't happen again. Hope I don't need their service in the future but will not hesitate if needed. Reasonable cost also. I had the most disturbing experience.with a girl at Boom Windows. I have never used them before. Mc Cain Windows recommended them to replace a seal on a small window. I really think MC Cain Windows is wonderful and I would highly recommend them. They are very customer service oriented which is why I am so surprised that they would recommend Boom Windows. Nobody answers the phone at this co. Apparently their employees think everyone is attached to their phones so they can call you on their schedule. I don't know about you but I am not allowed to walk around with a phone during working hours. I would get fired. This girl that called me has absolutely no customer service skills.It just so happened that I took the day off today. I answered the phone and thanked her for calling. She kept using the word explosion. I had no idea what she was talking about. I told her many times that I never had an explosion of any type at my home. I also told her that she must have me confused with someone else. She said she wanted to read me notes from an employee from 2919.I had no idea if this employee is even employed by this co. She said the word explosion again. I can honestly say I have never called this co. before. They never did any work for me nor did I have anyone to my house. Apparently their policy is that any employee can write anything about anyone and get away with it. There are so many scams today and an unstable individual is allowed to do this to a potential client. We all try to help small businesses but I find this appalling. I have no idea if there is a new owner or why this is allowed but this girl was out of touch with reality it how customer service operates. I personally will not do business that enforces a policy like this. I would think you would feel the same. She sets the tone. This is the first person you talk to. When we moved into our house every room had at least one window screen in need of repair. Our windows on the second floor are large rectangles making transporting the screens difficult. We called one company that wanted $85 to come and remove the screens so they could be repaired. They'd take the screens to their location and then bring them back another day. We then called Boom and while their prices were slightly higher per a screen than the other company, the convenience was worth the price. Boom showed up on time and removed each screen, repaired them onsite and then reinstalled them. In under 2 hours this "To Do" item was crossed off our list. I highly recommend Boom. read more

Went great. Hole in screen occurred by relative's dog around the holidays. I really liked Boom's reviews. I called around early February but their crew is out for the cold weather, however I was able to book an appointment in late March. I also had 2 smaller screens that were ratty looking that I had them replace as long as they were coming out. Total bill around $136.00 - the pet screen is more durable and therefore more expensive - ran about $119.00. In my opinion a great investment. They came while I was at work. No complaints. I had 3 separate jobs: broken window frame (half the window fell off), a window that would not shut due to frame shifting and broken window handle. I researched several companies but chose Boom even though they did not have anything open for a couple weeks. But they had great reviews and the don't charge by the hour, they charge by the job. And if they have to come out again bc they don't have a particular part, they don't charge extra for that either. Miguel fixed all 3 windows in less than 30 minutes!!! I was standing there next to him watching him work. He works in a very deliberate manner and is impressively efficient. It was obvious he has been doing this for a long time. He told me 26 years! I needed the glass replaced in a sliding glass door and a window. I live in Lexington in the Park subdivision and got a referral to Boom. I had quotes from other places at both the high and low end so I needed more info. Boom's quote came in at a very reasonable cost. It wasn't an emergency, and they booked me in 2 weeks. Boom Windows & Screens showed up on time to measure and provide quotes for window repairs. Quote was given within a couple days and they put gave us a scheduled repair date at the time of quote. We had 2 windows repaired - (1 doubled paned window needed new glass on the inside pane) and a very old single paned metal framed window in the basement was broken and needed replacement and new putty. Prices were reasonable and the 2 guys were on time and completed the work quickly with clean up. (Masks were worn) I highly recommend Boom and would definitely use them for any of our window & screen repair needs. read more

I was leaving a parking lot yesterday when my 2 year old started choking on a piece of candy. I stopped the car and rushed outside to pull him out of the car seat and attempt to dislodge the candy from his throat. While I had him flipped over, a man came walking towards me and said, "put your finger in his mouth and get it out". I had both hands full because I was holding him face down and hitting his back. The man put his finger in my son's mouth and pulled out the candy. It was such a relief! He went back to his truck and came back with some water and drinks for my son. Never had a chance to ask his name or properly thank him as I was still in shock when he drove off. Thank you for helping me! While I've never used this company, I think it's says something about them when their employees are such good Samaritans! THIS is the way to go! I had screen repair work done a few years ago and it was expensive and took a week to get my screens back because repairs were done off-site. I had a completely different experience with Boom. My initial contact was with Michelle. I had called and left a message when they weren't open and she got back to me promptly the next day. She was very sweet, even offering to give me a more accurate quote if I was able to give her the measurements of the windows, which I didn't need since their prices are so reasonable. The appointment I made was less than a week out, which I appreciated. Miguel arrived a few minutes early, and in less than an hour and 15 minutes, all the screens were back in their place. It couldn't have been more convenient. Miguel removed the screens, took them out to his truck where he replaced the screen part, and then brought them back in and installed them. He even noticed one of the windows was hard to open, pointed out the part and said he would replace it, and didn't even charge me for that. I think he also put a new handle on the patio sliding screen, too. Both Michelle and Miguel were very polite and professional, as well as patient. I called Michelle a second time with a question and she was very thorough in answering it, and when I asked Miguel if he could show me how the windows worked, since I just moved in and these are new to me, he was more than happy to assist. In addition, when I told Miguel I was considering getting the patio screen replaced, which I had forgotten about when setting it up with Michelle, he explained that they would waive the service call fee I was told they would charge if I decided to have the patio door screen replaced, so I had it replaced and it was only $10 more than the service call charge would have been. (I think they charge those on really small jobs) I thanked Miguel for letting me know because we are all aware there are people and companies out there who would never have mentioned it and would have charged for both the service call and the sliding door repair since I didn't know better. This is a small local business and I love supporting those. In fact, I think it's important to support those. I HIGHLY recommend them. I can think of no good reason to opt to go with more expensive places that take a week to return your screens when you can get them taken care of for a more reasonable price the same day. I'll be using them in the future, as needed. Call them if you need screen / window repair work done - you'll be glad you did! Call soon though, because I'm sure as the weather warms up, the wait time will be longer. They take checks or cash only. read more

I just had 20 fogged up windows as well as 2 broken glass windows replaced by BOOM. Two men came shortly after 8:00 AM and were gone by 3:30 PM. They were very courteous, efficient and professional. I used this company to replace the screen in a patio door. The metal frame for the screen was ancient so they replaced that too. When I got the new frame/screen I couldn't install it so I called my handyman to do that job. Turns out he couldn't install it either so I called Boom. On a very snowy April day, Boom sent out a wonderful man who replaced the screens in both patio doors and he replaced the handle on the outside of one of the doors. He also made sure all the screens locked and that doors were working well.
