I ordered the Ultimate BLT and it was disgusting.. The Bread was soggy, the tomato was old and the bacon was greasy. The fries weren't fried long enough, they were soggy as well. Having the tables cleaned, not dirty when you walk in and you're not welcome just "Hey, Find a seat... wherever you can..." Not the normal "Hi! Welcome to Boom A Rangs! Well, it happened a second time; so here are the facts. We come in about 5:30 pm and order a burger, and fries to share. Business activity is light. The waitress takes our order in a reasonable amount of time. After 25+ minutes I get up to check on our order." Oh, it will be just a couple of minutes, your order was misplaced in the kitchen". At checkout the manager apologized and offered a discount. But when he rang it up, it was the same as the regular price plus tax. During our wait, two others came in well after us, placed there order, got their food while we were still waiting.. First time, shame on me, second time, shame on them! There won't be a third time! I called ahead & ordered 2 chicken fried steak dinners w/ tots & side salads. told me 10-15min. I got to the drive through at 15 min from time of ordering. was a car in front of me that I had to wait on for 17 minutes, instead of having them drive back around or park. I knew my food was just sitting there getting cold. finally get the food, get home & there is no gravy with the steaks & it comes with it. Called them & had to go back up there to get it. food was very cold by that time. Steaks have shrunk drastically, was cold, cold tots & burnt toast. Arrived around 11:10 AM. Already getting busy. I had chicken fried steak. The taste was good and was given enough gravy but there was often a stringy part of the meat that had to be cut with a knife before it could be totally broken off, to eat. Also a bit salty, but I am sensitive to the taste of salt. The portion was sufficiently large and the price was excellent. About $6.00. (Three stars for this). It was Monday and burgers were half price! The meat on the burgers was fresh, not frozen. Tasted homemade. (4.5 stars for the basic burger.) My friend had a "super chili cheeseburger." He said that it was awesome and it was a five star rating. Had a wonderful order of French fries. Only $2.29. I tried some of my friend's waffle fries. They were seasoned and tasted good. Fries and waffle fries were five stars. Milkshakes were thick and all good. Made with real ice cream. Only $4.00. (4.5 stars) Mostly 1950's music was played (not too loud) and a few early 1960's songs. Our waitress was named Tricia. Tricia was very kind and warm to us. I've been here 2 times and I've had 2 different experiences. The first time was very good. I went to lunch with my boyfriend's parents and the food was really good. I got the chicken sandwich, they got the classic burger, and the rhubarb sandwich. They were happy as well as me. The chicken sandwich was big, the helping of fries was plentiful, the staff was nice and checked up a reasonable amount of times. I liked my experience. The second time I went was with my boyfriend. He ordered a classic burger and I got the chicken sandwich again. I felt very rushed by the waitress wanting to take our order. I'd ask for a few minutes and she'd leave for about a minute then come back and ask again what we want. I ended up just getting what I got last time. The food came out fast and it seemed fine until my boyfriend went to give me a bite of his burger. I saw what looked like a very thin string of cheese coming from the side of his burger. He stuck it out for me and I went to grab the little string and it didn't budge so I kept pulling. It stretched then finally broke and it was a long blonde hair. That kind of thing happens, but my boyfriend told our waitress and she looked very annoyed, went back to the kitchen, then came back out a minute later. My boyfriend said it was kind of cold except for the middle as if it was nuked. It's sad because the atmosphere is nice and even the prices are good. I just didn't like how that situation was handled and how I was rushed by the waitress in the beginning. read more

A gem in downtown McAlester. I'm not sure how many people in McAlester use Yelp!, but get cracking people :) This is an old fashioned diner with excellent everything. It has a big open space with tables for large groups and booths. The food is great. I got scrambled eggs, hash browns, and biscuits and gravy. I love Waffle-House style places, and this delivers that plus 50's diner style. Give them a shot if you're in the area. *** Update *** It's a chain in Oklahoma apparently. We have tried Boom-a-Rang in in towns all over OK. This one is as good as any. The burger was hot, fresh and fast. Perfect sweet tea and the onion rings are super addictive. My son and I stopped in on our way back home today. He had breakfast and I was craving a chili cheese dog. He thought his breakfast was great but I was a bit disappointed in the chili dog. For McAlester, Oklahoma, this place is awesome! They serve breakfast all day and have phenomenal biscuits; they fry the bread which makes them AMAZING! Might be my worst dining experience ever. Burnt hamburger for me. Burnt chicken for kids. My wife's hash Browns were burnt. And it gets better. Ordered fries, they never came, I ordered and payed extra for 2 jalapeños on my burger, one of the two was the size of a dime. Ordered a side of fried pickles,they were cold. And couldn't get a waitress back to my table. They avoided eye contact. It was crazy. This will be the first time I think I have never left a tip. And we waited 45 minutes for our food.
