Books on Broad storefront

Love popping into this gem on the main Broad Street whenever in town. Always find kind and helpful individuals working here. And there's a great coffee shop in the back with a giant menu! So many books and items galore!

Bagels with cream cheese and coffee!

We stopped in here for coffee and breakfast before heading to spend the day with three of our grandsons and their family. The coffee shop is in the back of the bookstore, and has another entrance in the back. There are some interesting books on the shelves of the bookstore, and I'll want to return to look at the books when we don't have another obligation. Hubby ordered his usual Americano and I had a sugar free hazelnut latte. We both ordered toasted bagels with cream cheese as the food options are limited, but there is a good variety of different flavored bagels. My rosemary bagel was scrumptious and Hubby enjoyed his plain bagel. Definitely want to return to patronize a locally owned business and enjoy some great coffee too.

Wonderful! I just went in for the coffee, but the books were a nice combo deal. I especially appreciated the rare ladder on wheels. As far as the coffee shop - the servers were pleasant and quick and the drinks were just right.

I've stopped here for a break while traveling numerous times over the past 3 years. I love the fact that you can peruse books with their ever-changing stock and displays. Their chai frappe is the absolute best I've ever had. Fully blended, plenty of whipped cream, and a smooth chai taste - perfect. The baristas are always friendly and outgoing.

Matcha latte and lavender honey latte both 16oz. They were both AMAZING

This place is so cute and precious. Although, the book selection isn't the largest, they are willing to place orders for any book you want. The environment is comfy and inviting. The coffee and drinks are great. They have a bunch of different flavor options and the pricing is good and reasonable. The staff were friendly and answered any questions we had.

Yummy coffee! They have oat milk for their lattes which is great for dairy free people like me. Cozy environment!

For sure this is the only spot in downtown Camden to get a proper espresso drink or a cold-brew iced coffee.

We had heard that the restaurant had changed ownership and now has a different menu. You used to…read moreorder at the bar and take a seat. Now it's more of a true restaurant. Not too many tables in the main room (I think maybe 6 or so) and they have the Company store side apparently for banquets. Still have the old screen porch that you could eat at but today nobody was out there. They are open for lunch and dinner. Friday and Saturday nights til 9:00 PM. The menu surprised me. They have a good assortment of starters - fried pickles, fried okra, hush puppies, and more. I ordered the BBQ pork on Texas Toast, Fries and Cole Slaw with unsweetened ice tea. Everything was excellent. Big Al's BBQ sauce was very good. Almost like a combination of North Carolina and Tomato based...not sure, but very good. My wife and I both liked the sauce. It's not thick and was served in a sqeeze bottle. The Cole slaw was great. Not your typical Cole slaw that is sweet. My wife took a bite of my sandwich and cole slaw and loved both of them. She ordered a quarter chicken dinner. It came with three sides and she chose salad with Vinegariette dressing, green beans, and the hash and rice (she said mainly so I could try it). The chicken was great. Quarter chicken with wing and very moist. The green beans were perfect. I like the southern style green beans - my wife likes the al dente. These were my style. The BBQ Hash and rice was also very good. Her dinner also was served with a regular bread roll. The waitress was very prompt in seating us and taking the order. We were served in probably 5-7 minutes after ordering. Very fast. We'll definitely go back. They currently don't have beer or wine but have put in for their license. RIght now they do not have any fish or shrimp on the menu but are looking to add shrimp and a low country boil in the near future. It's a nice ride out to Rembert and a great little trip from NE Cola for a relaxing lunch or dinner. Try it...you'll like it.

If your looking for a happy, relaxing atmosphere and something different, then this is the place to…read morebe. I have eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner at the boykin mill store and I have yet to be disappointed. It's a country store with yellow grits lining the shelves (for sale) that are from the mill across the street. The grits are served with many meals, but my favorite is the shrimp and grits. There are a variety of different items to choose from. Along with the food and atmosphere, comes the staff. They make you feel special and very welcomed and will make you feel like fanily. I love this place and would recommend it to all ages!! I'm going tonight for dinner, to relax and have a beer and listen to some good ol boys play some good ol music! Which by the way, play just loud enough.
