They were fantastic titles on display, and the owner is very obviously knowledgeable about books for all ages. She helped each of my kids, find two books, and said she was happy to order any books that we did not have in the store. It was one of the best bookstore experiences I have had in many years! We usually thrift or buy our books second hand, so we only got one while there- that would be my only qualm, that I think they should have a used section as well! I'm so glad I saw this cute bookstores at Stony Point Shopping Center! The sign showed a stack of books and a cup of tea! Need I say more?! And the name of the shop intrigued me, Redemption Books. My first impression when I entered was WOW! Although this isn't a huge bookstore, it was spacious and beautifully appointed. The bookshelves were gorgeous, the colors were enlivened, the furniture was warm and cozy, and the décor was serene and lovely. The murals in the children's department were especially heartwarming. This store is predominantly a Christian bookstore (hence the name of the store, duh, I should've put that together), but it also carries other titles, fiction, reference, young adults, self help, classics, poetry and more! I purchased quite a few titles, both hardback and paperback. The prices are amazing! They sell new and used books, and also take donations of good quality, wholesome books. There is also a little beverage area where you can get a cup of tea or coffee and enjoy a leisurely moment of reading. I nestled in with my Earl Grey and broke open the spine of a book of poetry by Whittier that was copyrighted 1893! There's plenty of seating and some tables if you need a work station. I met Val, the sweet lady who was minding the store and we had a lively, invigorating chat! She showed me around the store and was as nice as she could be! She also informed me that they host events by various authors from time to time! Come on in and perhaps find a novel treasure of your own! If you miss this spot, you can only blame your-shelf!

I am sad that this is the closest location to me and I do wish they had one near lower Chesterfield but this store is worth the drive. I recently dropped off 6 items for the buyback program, which I have done several times and never…read morehad an issue. This time, I drop off some fairly expensive items and see my order processed at a roughly 24% payout for store credit. So I call to inquire about the massive gap in expectation and reality (even in instances I dropped of cheaper items, I still had a much larger net store credit). The first associate is able to tell me the price paid per item and everything, incredibly helpful. Since he couldn't assist with my larger question about buying percentages, he transfers me to the store manager who refuses to acknowledge the gap and cannot tell me the price paid per item. He quickly flees from the phone and puts the general manager on. She is very polite but says it is against policy to tell customers the price for their items... obviously frustrated at being taken advantage of, she says "it does look like there is an error with this one" (the Pop valued at $115) and offers me a small gift card to make up the difference. So if I hadn't investigated, this bloated company would have just walked away with a scam like this. Is this really how corporations should be treating its customers? Buying items at 24% because "it's a business and we have to make money" is a robbery and not having employees competent enough to value items is just deplorable.

The staff is knowledgable and helpful. In terms of value, it's on par with most stores. Herbs, oils, gemstones - all of these things are going to cost a bit.

Neither of the women, Amy, nor the one loudly discussing her disdain for children greeted our family. Very disappointing as the volunteers in here have previously always been kind and we have always have had a good experience. For a thrift store that is supposedly supporting Christian values these two women are making a mockery of it. As a mother who works hard to instill appropriate behaviors and values in their children I don't tolerate rudeness particularly when it's unwarranted.
